Went to the dealership here in aventura south Florida. They were going to give me $8000 for my 2014 civic si coupe which I currently have the title for….with $2000 down payment on top. So I’m giving $10k and they said I’m financing a remaining $31,480….so close to $600 a Month. Bro that’s a joke. I’m still paying OVER msrp. America is getting out of hand with everything not just dealers. It truly is. So sad. I can get it but its not the point…that is just a huge rip off. Then sell my car for $16k or more. 😂😂😂😂 I left.
The problem with this car is that most dealers want $36k for it with all the added on dealer installed options. That puts it at the range of a standard plus Tesla Model 3. Is this better and faster than Model 3?
The civic sport can be had with a manual also. Look great too. Probably not as fun as the the Si though. Si competition: Vw gti, but pricey. Wrx base, fuel thirsty.
If you live somewhere where it snows, I would personally suggest the wrx. However if the weather isn’t a factor, choose the si. For daily commutes, can’t go wrong with either one. (My personal opinion.) Now if you’re looking to race and take on a track, idk which one to suggest lol.
200hp is not quite enough nowadays with many EV on the road. SI with mark up while WRX with mark down, they are about the same price. I love my '22 WRX.
@@rcstreet personally, I’m with you on the wrx as the elements where I live are pretty harsh but I disagree on the 200hp not being enough for just regular daily driving.
Its not hard. Especially in the civic. I bought my old 350z and didnt know how to drive it. I practiced and within afew days i was out driving on the streets. Id stall once in awhile but thats part of the learning process. Its so much more enjoyable to drive a manual over a quicker automatic car. The only bummer is if u drive in a lot of traffic often cuz that can get annoying. The 11th si can be very fun and it loves to be driven aggressively on curvy roads
@@jclar7210 it is easy. Some people get discouraged cuz they try to learn on a harder car. The 350z was tough but i didnt give up. The civic si is so much easier. I was even teaching my wife on it and she was getting the hang of it. Plus it has hill assist which helps hold the car from rolling when ur on a hill so u have time to work the pedals and rev match which on a downshift it revs it to the correct rpm for u. Its almost like cheating
@chorizojuice The last time I tried to learn how to drive stick shift was like 34 years ago actually, I was a teenager, my friend had a small Datsun pickup truck standard, it didn't go well, I gave up lol
Crazy i bought a 19' type r new for 3k more than this si. Glad i bought one when i did but the si is over priced. Glad I have my 8th gen SI and S2k. I hope Honda can somehow make electric cars fun
I have a 2019 Si sedan, cashed out and no payments. I’m sorry but I’m not paying $60k for a Type R. Which is slightly faster, if it was $10k more than the Si, sure. Not double, not worth it 3:29
If you want the sedan over the hatchback, the manual, extra performance or the tweaked 1.5L turbo and LSD, by all means get the Si. If you hsve a Mexican friend ask if he should getvthis, tell him Si, senor! 😂 The 11th Generation Si is a lot nicer and much improved over the previous 10th Generation, and much more amenities, especially the Bose Stereo. The sunroof is nice, but if it's my choice, I would prefer to delete it if I could do so, for the onproved weight savings, structural rigidity, and less potential mechanical and water leak problems when it gets older, plus the vulnerability of the glass bring damaged. Ditto for the power adjust seats, one more thing to go wrong. Like the Sport Sedan or Hatchback, it has all the basic goodies without the extra cost items I don't veany, or can do without. Like leather seat I like, but don't have to have, and it's a given that the Si is goingbto have the traditional cloth logi seats, as dies yhe Type R. It's also nice that the Si has the slanted fron fascis nose fromnthe Hatchbacks islnstead of the normal squared edge piece from the Sedan trims. IMHO, I don't likevred cards in general or red keather interior. But yhe Si seats are fine. O eould orefer the Aegean Blue Netallic, Sonic Greal Pearl or the Orange, exclusively with the Si that looks fire with the full HPD add on package. It's not going to happen, but ideally, the Si should have the detuned 2.0L tirbo from the Accord Sport snd this rngine should be in the Touring Sefan and Sport Touring Hatchback. As well bas in a Sport Touring trim for the HR-V. What irks me is that the black exterior emblems would look great on the Si, but you can't get matching black trimmed Si badges. The alternative is to just replace the front, rear and horn button Honda H-Mark emblems eithbthe nicer JDM style ones that cone on the Type R thatvisvavailable aftermarket. Along with certain OEM and aftermarket accessories, like anodized aluminum tire valve stem caps, black metal license plate frames and vlear covers, legsl snoke tint windows, maybe the HPD packagr, nice dashcam, or performance mods, there's not much else I would add to this
A couple years ago I test drove a new civic si. I was so disappointed. It handled very good, but thats where it ended. No torque at all, no pull, nothing. I hit 5 grand and could hardly tell, pushed in the clutch, and then came the rev hang. The worst I've ever seen. Needless to say I returned to the dealer handed them the keys....on to the next.
I want to love the 11th gen Civic Si, but Honda failed us. When Honda decided to put a economy car engine in the Si, killed it it for me. The L15 is a weak engine, with a flawed build that will not allow Si fans to modify this engine without major consequences. Be warned the 1.5t (L15) is a economy engine with weaker internals. I went 10th Gen Accord 2.0t because I don't want to deal with the head gasket issue that the 1.5t owners are seeing.
It would have been my ideal car, only if it had Type-R's engine that's tuned for more efficiency for street use. Instead, the1.5T has the efficiency but not enough fun factor to justify Si's wonderful chassis. My less powerful 2017 LX Sedan with 6MT is more fun then the turbo Si, simply because it had K20 engine (..Type-R has the turbo version of this engine). I'm convinced that the 10th generation Civic Sedan, with the 6MT, K20 engine and curb weigh of about 2700lb is the best Civic ever made. Hopefully, the kids pick up on this and use it as a gateway into the weekend track scene.
@jackiemcmillan8390 it’s got some internals to be an all round better engine, but virtually the same. The Turbo doesn’t make this k20 a better engine. Just more power.
You're wrong there. The 1.5T really messes other cars up while dailying it. It's brisk and gives you cheap grins while driving on the streets How can you expect the TypeR powerplaht for the bargain price of the Si? You humans are simply insatiable The 11th gen Si ticks all the right boxes fir a fun 4-door daily. You can't list 6 cars from 2022-2023 that are in its price range that beat it. I'd wait
@@1anre It's not 1.5T that make 11th Si, it's the beefed-up front suspension/drive axel, multi link rear suspension and durable 6MT transmission. That being said, 3 cars come to mind with similar traits. At about 10% more, Elantra N will destroy Si while still returning good economy (6MT version), VW GTi for less and for significantly less (but not as quick) Sentra which is less then 3/5 the price of Si, but still come with 6MT, Multi Link rear and has a racing serious dedicated to this car. Japanese (especially Honda) are operating in a bubble which works for the clueless buyers.
Priced gouged beyond belief! I can’t wait till the dealers all go out of business! And stop paying 10k + for vehicles.. that is why this shit continues
I'd make it simpler. Heated steering wheel? Nix that! Infotainment screen - kill it. Digital dash - go back to analog. There should be only one button on the steering wheel (the horn.) And it needs silver wheels not the "black socks" wheels.
It's horrific that they put a 1.5T engine in the civic SI. Should have been an NA 2.0 K20 engine that let you you choose your own turbo if you wanted to add it.

It’s apples and oranges. So hard to compare between gas and EV.
Guaranteed the honda will be on the road a lot longer.
I wish the Si came in a hatchback version.
the integra a spec is a si sedan.
Nah, will look weird. Leave that for the Type R
The civic sport can be had with a manual also. Look great too. Probably not as fun as the the Si though. Si competition: Vw gti, but pricey. Wrx base, fuel thirsty.
Best car ever!
I want this car but I gotta learn how to drive manual first
learn on the Si, you got it
As an owner of a 22' Sport with manual transmission, I'm wondering if the added Hp of the SI is worth the trade in
Id trade it in tbh . Just dont let them hit u over the head for it. But if u got 10k layin around , Get a 9 th gen thats been maintained 😁 Vteccc
It is. The LSD, exhaust, auto rev match is unnatched!
You get more hp, the diff, better suspension, stronger internals
my 2020 veloster n begs to differ ...@@1anre
My goodness..ill take any color.
I want you to do video on hood fans for kitchen
Brian would you pick an SI or WRX manual for a daily?
@@shudigg2023 WRX is atrocious on the eyes.
AWD capability or not, I'd rather go with something else
@@1anre i agree, it definitely needs some cosmetic work. But Im only going by the 2 options given by the OP.
Not getting the SI until the US version comes with all the extra's the Canadian version does.
this is like my childhood dream car. lol 🤣
Now pushing almost $40,000 plus tax…ouch. Would be worth it if it had the 2.0T. If they bring the Civic hybrid here…
Can we compare this with Focus St 2016
too bad canadian version doesnt come wit blue color n thats ma fav color
Boost Blue is coming for the 24 model year!
You don't count the oil used to grill the chicken?
I would love to sell my accord and buy the SI, but I never learned how to drive standard, will have to learn how
Its not hard.
@chorizojuice Really only a few days it took for you to learn?
@@chorizojuice Thanks for letting me know, I feel more motivated now
@@jclar7210 it is easy.
A couple other reviews have stated to get the sport instead of the si. Save a few bux and the 20hp isnt all that significant. Hmmmm
Crazy i bought a 19' type r new for 3k more than this si. Glad i bought one when i did but the si is over priced. Glad I have my 8th gen SI and S2k. I hope Honda can somehow make electric cars fun
You are very lucky. Here very used type rs are low 30k. Very low mileage fk8 are closer to the new type rs msrp. The fl5 is closer or over 60k
The 11th Generation Si is a lot nicer and much improved over the previous 10th Generation, and much more amenities, especially the Bose Stereo.
Needless to say I returned to the dealer handed them the keys....on to the next.
wish it has more power. that can actually compete with the gti
hyundai n line
The Si is dead, there’s no more Si this is just an high end Civic, that’s all
I want this car, but the APR is just so expensive.
What %?
I want to love the 11th gen Civic Si, but Honda failed us. When Honda decided to put a economy car engine in the Si, killed it it for me. The L15 is a weak engine, with a flawed build that will not allow Si fans to modify this engine without major consequences. Be warned the 1.5t (L15) is a economy engine with weaker internals. I went 10th Gen Accord 2.0t because I don't want to deal with the head gasket issue that the 1.5t owners are seeing.
No heated seats wow
What happened to 2 door civics?
At least they still have a manual transmission
this how Silva Boss Panden look like in western view...this Honda if you lives in US is like Honda with front conversion Dodge Charger
It's brisk and gives you cheap grins while driving on the streets
How can you expect the TypeR powerplaht for the bargain price of the Si? You humans are simply insatiable
The 11th gen Si ticks all the right boxes fir a fun 4-door daily.
@@user-dj5fu5on7n But you can list up to 3 at least then?
@@user-dj5fu5on7n So you mean the Si is the best in its class for a 4-door?
Waiting to finish my car payment, debating on 23 Or 20 19
i love my 2023 si🩷
I don't think that the US spec Civic Si has the heated seats or steering wheel.
YOU GOT LUMBAR SUPPORT IN THAT SI ?
6 reasons 💪💪💪
I got a 2023 si and I don’t have the shift lights wtf I live in California
Priced gouged beyond belief! I can’t wait till the dealers all go out of business! And stop paying 10k + for vehicles.. that is why this shit continues
It sucks that I can't buy new Civic sedan base with manual 2.0... Only in hatchback you can and they are ugly in my opinion.
I prefer the civic over the weird looking accords.
Same here. They look like boats now
Why pay for the type r when you can get an si and boost it lol
Waiting for a mid cycle refresh to see if they fix some of the many complaints there is about this car.
I'd make it simpler. Heated steering wheel? Nix that! Infotainment screen - kill it. Digital dash - go back to analog. There should be only one button on the steering wheel (the horn.) And it needs silver wheels not the "black socks" wheels.
U just making it ass
The type r is better
vanilla iceream vanilla blend cAr
The perfect civic is a 250hp civic
It's horrific that they put a 1.5T engine in the civic SI. Should have been an NA 2.0 K20 engine that let you you choose your own turbo if you wanted to add it.
