    Hey Kyle. You always deliver top-notch entertainment as well as dropping a few words of wisdom and positivity. For that, I thank you.🙏 Nice to see you and Heather on the livestream yesterday, btw. I think it's a great idea to revisit the old tools. Chances are, a lot of the newcomers to the channel haven't seen them and even for the older guys, it'll be good to hear your updated thoughts on 'em. As for the Bibbster, the quick jack system sounds very cool. Also, just bending and laying those two tubes on the floor made me see the diffuser setup. That's gonna be so badass! Y'all take care of the family and the homestead and have a great weekend.👍😎

    I just binge watched the whole bibbster playlist in the past few days and now I'm sad I'm all caught up and have to wait to see the next steps. This thing is gonna be so badass looking when it's done, can't wait for the next video on it.

    I have always enjoyed your outstanding Videos. Your Fabrication abilities are amazing. You must not sleep a lot with your mind buzzing on the next project. I also enjoy Rat Rod Bob. Obviously the only comparison between the two of you is the creativity and Fabrication of you both as well as the Love of building.

    When we use to race IMSA, we used Air Jacks. We made our own, simply a tube, with a piston with "O Rings", and a plunger w/ a smaller O.D. than the outer I.D., they were mounted at 4 corners of the chassis in the vertical, hit it with air (For Up say 4"), place blocks under frame rails, pop the air, place blocks under jacks, hit w/air again, chassis comes up again, only higher yet again. Hope this helps. Get back to work, Son!

      What I was thinking of also. It worked so well and was quick. That is the Jack system that is worthy of the Bibster.

    Great update and look forward. Some of us are struggling to look that far forward because of what’s happening ATM and with so many events postponed or cancelled. Nice little bit of advice at the end. Don’t freak out but take it seriously. Tool revue revisits sounds a good call, not sure I’ve actually seen them all 🤔😳 so I’m up for that. Bibster coming along. Take care of yourself and the family, Kyle. That’s the main thing short term.. ‘Go do work..Son’.

    Quick jacks on the V8 supercars have the Air cylinders bolted to the chassis on all 4 corners and you plug a airline into the car to jack it up.. no sliding shit under the car can be on the ground if you like.

    8:36 .. yea that clear over bare metal didn't work for me either. That's why I'm trying to perfect the bare metal paint effect. Still a long ways to go but it does solve the rust issues! Of course I'm building Rat Rods were my motto is "close enough for a Rat Rod".

    • @kieren7763
      @kieren7763 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the same issue next time I might try some deoxidiser first then scuff back and paint I use some tinted clear varnishes for wood on steel had some success with that.

    I have been following since the start of the build always wondering what way you were going with it ,80's meets 50's. hot rod . The 20th century model T the mustang"
    But it all makes scene now . Formula 1 car rear ends a mustang and melds into 1 perfect car. Love your work .

  • @benc8386
    @benc8386 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Raw finishes do rust (slowly) under clear. A reason I've heard for this is it's because there's no primer and therefore no etching. There will always be a little bit of water in there under the clear. The sharkhide should be better and I guess you could try clear on top of the sharkhide as I think it will work a bit like an etching primer (only better looking)

    Have you thought about DA sanding your seats followed by water braking the surfaces and treating it with Alodine would make a really nice finish to your seats and only aluminium can be anodized also good call on not using the cherry max rivets steel shanks and lock collars make it harder to remove and replace them

    The way your building this car, don't go cheap on the jacks. Go with pro-jack. They are the original race car jack. They are sanitary looking and the chrome is done right.

  • @nickcunningham-moorat3233
    @nickcunningham-moorat3233 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Quick jacks are designed to fit front to back, not side to side. When they actuate the vehicle shifts backward with the motion of the ram on the slides, you really don't want your car being dragged to the side with the jacks installed side to side.
