Hey Z, thanks for saving my save, honestly completely forgot to set up scouting in the beginning of my save and never looked back so uhhh.... apologies, I'll make sure to get at least 3 colombian wonderkids in. GK distribution changes have already gotten me 3 wins in 3 games so thanks for the tips
I find it odd how people even play FM without scouting. I feel like 80% of my time on the game is spent scouting and looking for wonderkids, so much so that I actually find matches a hindrance and I just want to get them finished so I can go back to looking for players lol. We are very different people indeed
@@GGMatt same here… I can’t wrap my head around why someone would ask for save help whilst also not even looking at screens like scouting. I figure some people just spacebar their way through the game and thus why it takes them longer to win.. but saving a save yeh I have no idea. Scouting assignments should be looked at at least a few times per year especially as you are adding more scouts.!
RE: The Eskilstuna one - it actually depends on the type of affiliation. Some say it'll cause the link to end, whereas others outright stop you from being promoted despite winning the league - it just depends on the wording in the Affiliations screen. For AFC Eskilstuna on the game the text is "The terms of this deal prevent IFK Eskilstuna from playing in the same division as AFC Eskilstuna". This is different to ones I've seen where it says something along the lines of: "Playing in the same division will terminate the link between X and Y" which would tell me at best they would swap positions or at worst IFK would get relegated even by finishing first should AFC be relegated. Anyways love the vids Z, just wanted to drop this :D
or just terminate the link and no one s any worries then. im managing bath and have tranmere in league 2. tehy're no better than me. they don't hae any players worth having. that's something to look into though on my save, getting an affiliate who are actually good...
Yesssss someone finally doing a Dresden save. People sleep on this club. Great facilities and ridiculously large passionate Dortmund style fan base (have their own yellow wall)….all from a club whose never really been above the 2nd tier. Great club and easy to build into a force!
In that comparison screen, you gotta uncheck the goalies. If you have more than 2 goalies on your senior squad, it may screw up that comparison, making attributes way lower than what they should be. I noticed this a while ago. Nice vid Zea!
Dont have time, money and space for an exchange student but asking around for friends favorite clubs is always a great way to get new saves :D I mean, im predominantly playing germany and italy (bcs heritage) and of course have every year at least one save with my favorite team but otherwise ive almost played everything. From amateur clubs going pro to dominating with PSG bcs Neymar, Messi, Mbappe were just to seductive haha oh and PSG has the money to sign Haarland which makes the team ridiculously overstacked straight um playing a 4-2-4 lol
People appreciate too less, how effective loans are. Not only when you have no budget and need player but also when a player does not want a transfer to you. Most players (in my experience) will at least be open for a contract negotiation after 1-2 season playing for you on a loan basis. So if you really want a player who is open for loan but does not want a fix transfer, then just loan him out for a season or two with a buy clause
true, I remember having a Valencia save on my FM20 and my team desperately needs a good attacking midfielder for my tactic (My finances are bad). Luckily Real Madrid accept my loan offer for James Rodriguez and in that season I become runner-up in la Liga behind Barcelona and lost to PSG in UCL Final
@@farhi411 nice one. I love when you add a buy clause and the agent says "My player would love to play for your club on loan but is not interested on a fix transfer". I'm always like: Yea, we will see about that in a year or two. Tom Rothe gave his debut yesterday btw. If you watch the Youth League you will already know them but if not, check them out in the next FMs :)
I feel like half of all my transfers come about this way. Season 1 - loan Rhys Williams from Liverpool with an insane optional buy clause I can never afford. Season 2 - strong arm Liverpool into extending his loan because he'll become unsettled if they don't let him come back to me. Season 3 - sign him for free End of Contract. Optional extra: Season 4 sell him back to Liverpool for £10 million with a Loan Back clause

Why do I never see people deselect positions on the comparison screen, you’ll be comparing your average attacking stats with your defenders and goalkeepers selected for the comparison
I bloomin' love the save your save series. So many useful little tips in here as always. I've been struggling a bit with developing technical attributes of my players too so looking forward to the next set of training vids.
Quick tip if your playing with attribute masking and you need a loan player and don’t have the time or ability to scout them, offer a trial ok the club won’t always agree and the player may reject you but you can get to see the player before you waste a loan spot or money on someone.
I will weight in the dev bit. From my experience is, in previous FM, if you kept your player in reserved and had good facilities and coaches, the player would develop. However, this is not true for FM22. I have tried this and the player never really dev even with start of the art and 5 stars coaches. Now, what I found work best is to get play time. I loan player with important as playing time. I want my player to play. When they come back, they always come back better. Some players might need more than a loan to hit it but in general, I sell my average player at 30/40M and keep the best for first team. I have played tons of FMs since cm01 and over the years I became better by learning from my mistakes. Hope this trick helps some of you :)
I've always hated loans. I'd rather fight for relegation and develop my own players than get promoted relying on loans. I only loan players as backup options when I'm not ready to spend money for that season
Agreed! Also I hate how you have to wait until the end of June until the loan ends in order to reassess your squad every season, also you can't discipline loan players which means the opportunity to increase their discipline and work rate isn't as great as it would be if they were a permanent player.... Glad I found another loan hater 🤣👍
I'm the same tbh. Only 2 ways I get loans in, if my squad needs filling out with some squad players and I'm short on money or if I've got a good youngster in my squad who gets taken by a bigger team I will always put a loan back clause in their contract. On my save at the moment I'm in league 2 and sold a young left back to Middlesbrough for £1.4m but loaned him straight back for 0% wage. So got the money and the player.
Same, it’s always felt very cheesey to me unless that’s going to be your philosophy with the save. For me, I typically like to only use a couple loans for spot starters or just backups a season only if need be, I’d rather use a lower rated youth academy product than bring in a really good player on a cheesey loan that’s unrealistic
Loans are always an option for developing players out of your club as well. It's easy to loan players out and to targeted clubs and regions getting them the best development possible
I've been using Mike's Best Ever Training Schedule as a template & modifying it each week, depending on match schedules. I find it's a really good way of developing players, they often get 9s & 10s in training. I experimented a bit with taking control of U23s & U18s training at the beginning of the season, blocking out the template & then giving it back to staff. They mostly keep the training schedule I set in place I think. I haven't done tests, but it would be really interesting to see if taking control of their training helps them develop better.
Just a tip the coaching team comparison screen is largely useless. As it just takes the totals of your staff and ads them up and compares them to the totals of other teams. This means that if you have a lot and/or they are 12's in everything you can be the best in that screen, however their actual coaching star rating will be mediocre. It is all about the coaching assignment and the star rating there plus their man management for over 18 and working with youngsters for under 18 players. Other tip for tracking development you can switch the filter from last month to another one like last year etc. Then the arrows next to the attributes will show how they have changed. Then for detail you can look at the line graph.
Your story about Owen Van Der Horst is familiar to me. I would check for information from scouts about adaptability. I've noted in FM22 players that have such warnings can take most of a season before they take off.
0:29 Not if you are an international-only manager like me. I kept getting complaints that I don't pick Ryan Thomas of PSV to the New Zealand squad. Well, ask PSV and Danny Hay. He isn't pick in reality, either.
Scouts are one of the most important things to use alongside Loans and if you don't use them you cannot win or progress. Also, we can't wait to see the player development videos next because everyone needs to know.
Yooooo! The half back! That’s what I’ve been trying to tell everyone! Wanna break the gengen press? Half back and instruct them to take risks. I’ve got Tonali playing that role and he’s hitting tons of long balls to my inside forwards. It’s been great.
i never used the squad comparison chart, because it was based on all squad combined, so it won't represent how you match up head to head with you opponent, you may won by chart because you have an even squad but if the opponent have a way superior first team then you might mistaken your capability in the league.
Loans are underrated even when I'm with a top tier club competing at the highest level I'll use a lot of loans. Mostly outgoing but do use the occasional incoming loan to fix a temporary issue (e.g. due to injury or thinking a youngster is just 1 year of regular game time away)
Hey Z, in the upcoming player development video could you talk about how to create a well balanced coaching team? Played fm for years and still find the coaching part of the game quite confusing. Cheers
From what I understand the quality of the training is dependent on two things. 1. The rating of the best coach you assign to that category of training (So when training Attacking Technical for instance it would pick the coach with the highest attacking and technical that you assign there to be the "lead" coach) which is shown by a star rating underneath each category 2. The workload the coach is undertaking training the players you have. It scales from light to heavy, and having all of the coach workloads being light is ideal for training. The workload increases the more players you have and decreases the more coaches you have assigned to that category of training These two things combined mean that the ideal way to set up a coaching staff is to have 10 "lead" coaches, each specializing in the attributes necessary for the 10 different categories of training, to increase the quality of your training (that star rating from point 1) and as many "supporting" coaches as necessary to make the Coach Workload light on each category of training. In my saves I have the 10 lead coaches each assigned to whatever they're best at, and then for the rest of my coaches I assign them to help out with every category of training to drop the workload down to light. Whenever I notice the workload begin to increase (I have more players that need training) I ask the board to allow me to hire more coaches. Hope this wasn't too confusing and helps you out!
Not sure about fm22 but having a roaming playmaker with a player trait of "comes deep to get the ball" (or whatever it's called) I've seen that they will essentially drop into the "half back" position when playing out of defense I do this in my current fm21 save I'm still playing. Have a greek/Spanish wonderkid with 18 passing and 19 vision and that dude will drop to nearly a libero position at times
Hey Z, I was wondering how you got the interface you use on the player attributes page? I like how it shows a coloured circle for how strong the player is with either foot and there's a few other nice touches. Is it a mod or how can I go about getting mine to look like that ? Keep up the good content ma man !
Wormierwalnut here ignore the username. I did realize I have high quality players in the squad but the problem has been scouting and depth building. The scouts are still looking for league 1 to championship players. They only seem to find premier league players in Serbia 🇷🇸. The other players came from the top 50 youth players list. I do think my baseline is very low which might be why my scouts are recommending those players but have never had that happen before. I shall look to fix that issue by fixing the depth. But thank you Z for looking at my save even though it was a disappointment!
What scouting filters are you using? Being in the prem is set them to min potential of very good or superb. the better your team gets the lower you want the potential to be set because this is all relative to your team.
love all your videos but I believe you use the attribute progress graphs incorrectly as always leave the time scale to just a month rather than a longer time frame where you can truly see their development
On the scouting bit my own test showed if you have full knowledge then just scout by position. So I might have 20 scouts, I'll set 2 each for goalkeeper, LB, RB, CB, DM, LM, RM, CM, ST and set them to scout worldwide for 3 months mainly. Then you go into the "inbox delivery options" and change it to update you WEEKLY. That way you get new players into your inbox weekly and I just add them to my shortlist and keep scouting ONE WEEK until full knowledge. Of course you can only do this if you've got the money to do so.
@@reintaler6355 If like me you tend to keep the same tactic for years it's great. Obviously if you change tactic then you adapt and edit the scouting. I tried Z's nation scouting and noticed less players coming through but that may just be a lack of players in the database perhaps.
I don't get why people are saying training is harder this year. I'm having zero issues with training/development and I'm not doing anything special. Tend to think people overthink it like they do with most of fm.
In terms of "illusionists", it might be worth looking at this older Fox in the box video relating to FM2020 - th-cam.com/video/Fq8WUUiAir4/w-d-xo.html - and the hidden attribute of "Progression Factor". It will answer why some players with high potential never make it and develop and why some seem to come good randomly later. It will be interesting to look at van den Horse (or whoever his name is spelt) to see if he has conditions suggesting he could be a late developer.
So turns out my fear about the affiliate link stopping me from being promoted was not something that ended up happening, despite AFC Eskilstuna getting relegated to the 3rd. At the same time, I achieved promotion to the 3rd tier. The goal is to get another 2 promotions to get the former Allsvenskan winners back to the top flight.
The lying for the analyst report could be factoring all positions like say say defender comparison including strikers or goalkeepers including everything else
I have a save with zwikau and in 2. bundesliga and my first season in bundesliga my whole starting 11 was in on loan and when I finally started buying players my team cohesion was so low and it still hasn't recovered almost at the end of the season.
Z always sings loans but i find loans to be very difficult to negotiate this year. Im playing as Salernitana in italy, half the squad is loaned in, the other half is league 1 quality, managed to finish mid table against the odds but now ive been given 300k to spend to rebuild an entire squad... i got a few free signings but not many and when i try loan anyone they want insane fees and i have no idea how to work around it. Im honestly thinking of ditching the game as its literally impossible to save this save.
You can get promotion after promotion with Dover... the Board get deferments or exemptions or whatever to avoid upgrading facilities to league minimum standards... which doesn't make sense, why have them if you're not going to enforce them? Sorry, I really liked my Dover save until I realized the futility of it.
If you are building a club, why would you not bring in better players on basically the same wages or free (senior affiliate) to help you win more faster. You loan players in to get in the top division to win faster, this gets you money faster for you to actually buy great potential young players. It’s how I won Austrian top league in year 2 with grazer ak, and then proceeded to win it every year including the champions league by year 11.
I play with "Os Belenenses" im currently on my 6 season, 3 straight years promoted, got to league one in Portugal and ended my first season in 5th, second in 2nd and i recently won the league. Its easy, atleast for me, cause like, use and abuse the country Youth players. Go to all nations and see players who are Young and you can "approach to sign". Its not a cheat code, because its a 50/50 chance that player is good. Yes you can like buy real players, i have em like essugo on midfield, Puscas at striker (cause i like him a lot on fm). Its easy, off course winning needs a good táctic, needs good players and instructions. But give it a go, waste your time and go to Angola, Servia, Norway, etc etc etc and go watch Youth players on the national teams and Scout em, approach them, 3/4/5 players might come with 2 stars or 2,5 stars. You dont know, maybe you get some 3 stars or more for free.
I have never been a fan of loans. I have to be desperate. I feel like it's a bandaid over a gun wound - I get through the season but then they leave for free and I still have to plug that hole. And I can't stand knowing I'm helping to develop a player that's not mine. ... I'm selfish like that 🤣
I just finished my first season in fm22 with Mam utd. I got mbappe on a free and I don’t know how I did it lol. Your scouting tips have helped enormously as well in helping find some good players
Are people watching the post when defending corners necessary? Just show them your video from the Dorfers th-cam.com/video/5W_km5o5VpI/w-d-xo.html and go to 8:50. That should persuade everyone.
8:00 "Since you are playing in the Bundesliga everyone will eventually go to Bayern. Its tradition" *laughts in german that refuses ever single transfer made by Bayern* I wish for two things in the next FM: I want to tell players "Fck off. Im not paying you that ridiculous wage. You are delusional" And telling the players: "Go everwhere, but i wont sell you to a club in [insert my league here]" -Criminals that search for 16year old boys- *Professionals have standards*
I really wish save scumming wasn't a thing, because when I see someone get Dover to 7th in the Prem in 7 years, it is frankly not believable. I think the game is pretty easy, but that is still a ridiculous achievement.
It’s unrealistic in real world sense which is why fm is way too easy, but it can be done in FM. I took port vale to 7th in the prem in my 5th year in Fm21. League 2 promoted first year, promoted year 2 to championship. Finished 3rd in championship and lost in promotion final. 4th year win the championship and first year in the prem finished 7th. Definitely didn’t save scum, never understand those who do that since the game is so easy already
Like this comment if you want Z to hurry up with the youth development video and perhaps consider making more of them. I have a bunch of wonderkids (one of them is even described by the media as "the next Neymar"), and they're mostly in their 2nd season of loans (age 19-20). They've developed a bit, but not as much as I think they should have.
I feel like the Dover manager just submitted his to brag. It doesn't need saving.
Ya but he would of known that but he still showed it so doesnt realy matter.

Not sure about fm22 but having a roaming playmaker with a player trait of "comes deep to get the ball" (or whatever it's called) I've seen that they will essentially drop into the "half back" position when playing out of defense
I do this in my current fm21 save I'm still playing. Have a greek/Spanish wonderkid with 18 passing and 19 vision and that dude will drop to nearly a libero position at times
Love these Z
You damn right it was a dissapointment
love all your videos but I believe you use the attribute progress graphs incorrectly as always leave the time scale to just a month rather than a longer time frame where you can truly see their development
Ooh position scouting that's sneaky
@@reintaler6355 If like me you tend to keep the same tactic for years it's great. Obviously if you change tactic then you adapt and edit the scouting. I tried Z's nation scouting and noticed less players coming through but that may just be a lack of players in the database perhaps.
I don't get why people are saying training is harder this year. I'm having zero issues with training/development and I'm not doing anything special. Tend to think people overthink it like they do with most of fm.
Why was IFK österåkers badge used for Eskilstuna? I guess the badges are similair but not the same club.
Hello Sir!! What facepack do you use?
Happy Easter every one
So turns out my fear about the affiliate link stopping me from being promoted was not something that ended up happening, despite AFC Eskilstuna getting relegated to the 3rd. At the same time, I achieved promotion to the 3rd tier. The goal is to get another 2 promotions to get the former Allsvenskan winners back to the top flight.
The lying for the analyst report could be factoring all positions like say say defender comparison including strikers or goalkeepers including everything else
I have a save with zwikau and in 2. bundesliga and my first season in bundesliga my whole starting 11 was in on loan and when I finally started buying players my team cohesion was so low and it still hasn't recovered almost at the end of the season.
put team bonding on training every week
@@williamcross210 Thanks. I already have team bonding and attacking movement. I'll try the rest
What is the process for submitting a save? God knows I could use some help with mine.
You can get promotion after promotion with Dover... the Board get deferments or exemptions or whatever to avoid upgrading facilities to league minimum standards... which doesn't make sense, why have them if you're not going to enforce them? Sorry, I really liked my Dover save until I realized the futility of it.
Central midfield attack box to box and dlps
Cant wait for 17:22 minutes of an american dude screamin LOANS to me :)
Currently heading to league 1 with York because of LOANS LOAAANNSS
Been playing fm for the past 5 editions and i have never use bloody loans, i don't see their worth, but it's just my oppinion and it might be wrong
My game keeps crashsing since yesterday. When i'm switching dates. Someone anny idea how to fix this? I'm playing the game via xbox gamepass
'League 1'. Playing in Premiership in 7th. Clearly doesn't know that league one is two leagues below premiership.
So, how do people send him saves for him to save them?
They are subscribed to his Twitch channel, then connect to his discord, and watch for the announcement in the subscribers only section.
zealand still saying BOUndesss leeguh
LOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have never been a fan of loans. I have to be desperate. I feel like it's a bandaid over a gun wound - I get through the season but then they leave for free and I still have to plug that hole. And I can't stand knowing I'm helping to develop a player that's not mine. ... I'm selfish like that 🤣
I don’t like Loans, I feel like you can get some players that would never realistically join you in real life
I just finished my first season in fm22 with Mam utd. I got mbappe on a free and I don’t know how I did it lol. Your scouting tips have helped enormously as well in helping find some good players
I offered half a mil a week, couldn't do it
Are people watching the post when defending corners necessary? Just show them your video from the Dorfers th-cam.com/video/5W_km5o5VpI/w-d-xo.html and go to 8:50. That should persuade everyone.
(Me proudly leaving everything to my staff and somehow still succeeding) 🤨
8:00 "Since you are playing in the Bundesliga everyone will eventually go to Bayern. Its tradition"
*laughts in german that refuses ever single transfer made by Bayern*
I wish for two things in the next FM:
I want to tell players "Fck off. Im not paying you that ridiculous wage. You are delusional"
And telling the players: "Go everwhere, but i wont sell you to a club in [insert my league here]"
-Criminals that search for 16year old boys- *Professionals have standards*
I feel like people whom are not scouting are using genie scout...
Booondesliga
Or he’s just using the editor to give himself some goodies like I do sometimes
Scouting? I save money ingame on using fm scout and pick the guys with potential.
AFC Thames. The greatest team in history to never win the Premier League...
Luv the fact Z is rocking an AFC Thames shirt
LOAAAAAAAAANNNNNSSSSA
Lmaaaoooo they don’t know how to develop Roony , I found him without no one help lmao , he’s worth 170 million at 20 for me lmao
Only real players for me. No, regens.
!vdh
zealand can you please unban me from your twitch chat?
My name is Hrvoje and I can confirm that you have butchered it
Like this comment if you want Z to hurry up with the youth development video and perhaps consider making more of them.
I have a bunch of wonderkids (one of them is even described by the media as "the next Neymar"), and they're mostly in their 2nd season of loans (age 19-20). They've developed a bit, but not as much as I think they should have.
