My m140i showed a loy of wear and that was 4 years old and bought from bmw. The wear on them seems to be pretty poor to be fair. It also had 35k miles on it.
Putting the right battery in this could potentially sort out quite a few of the issues, especially a poor idle and the electrical quirks with the indicators and brakes.

Hey Calvin. I’ve just bought an f80 m3 in October 2033 and have had issues with it from the time I got it from the dealership. It’s currently back with them whilst they try to sort it out. Great video Calvin. Nice that there were less problems than you were expecting. Just a note on the 'wrong' wheels; they aren't necessarily a sign of a problem. My M4 Comp was spec'd from new with the 19“ 437 wheels and I have seen other M4 Comps do the same. I like them and personally think they suit the body lines of the F82 better, but that's just my opinion. The mileage is still questionable, but I have a theory: why would someone polybush the rear on a low mileage car? To make it better on track. This might’ve been someones track toy, hence not putting many miles on it. It would also make sense the turbos wearing out so quickly. That front right wheel and tie rod has definitely had a hit at some point too and had been bent and straightened, which would explain the wheel bearing being bad at this mileage as well.
I had a 4 year old m140i that I bought from bmw with coral red interior. Yeah, years ago I bought a 5 series with about 100k miles. Something was off for me. There was a little too much wear in the carpet but I bought it anyway. Gave some problems so decided to move it on. Phoned bmw for a service history and discovered the last service 5 years previous was at a higher mileage! BMW’s wear really well. Random fact. The comp could actually be specced with the 19” 437M wheels. There’s a few cars out there that were ordered like that. I know this isn’t the case here though, but just saying these aren’t really the “wrong” wheels just that they weren’t the factory wheel for this particular comp.

An m4 never driven fast would probably have loads of problems too
F80 m3 comps and f82 comps never came with the comp badge people put them on they never started putting them on until m2 comp and m5 comp now you can only get a m3 comp and m4 comp in uk you can’t get none comps g80 g82 here 😊
definition of "content car" cheers for fixing my car for when I win it on POD 💪
Lithium battery’s ain’t cheap, but you can fit a AGM battery long as you get the IBS earth lead of another model
Ive been shopping for an m4 this week ive looked at five and theyve all had issues , suprises me tho how cheap they are compared to m2 m3 ,
Loving this!
not a chance that's done less than 40k, its had its head kicked in and weed in the arm rest 😂
I mean your more ballsy then me. That’s the most dog of an m4 there probably ever is.
That track rod looks bent to me, had one on a 3 series other day at work come in for alignment, “ tyre’s keep wearing out “
Cars not bad at all then needs about £1,500 spending, Possibly £2,000 if the headlight is replaced. Worth about 22-24k once all issues are fixed …
what with an 8 owner history and these you tube videos showing its past, he isn't getting anywhere near 20k for it.
@@MarcBirkseasily worth 23k stick to your novas and micra’s 😂
Random fact. The comp could actually be specced with the 19” 437M wheels. There’s a few cars out there that were ordered like that. I know this isn’t the case here though, but just saying these aren’t really the “wrong” wheels just that they weren’t the factory wheel for this particular comp.
Looks like an American spec comp
@@F80.M3 In what way mate? They still got the 666M in the states?
@@sanmarino_cs1698 they usually get crap spec cars like their golf r and can’t even get the rs3 sport back
Yourself, Matt & chris are my 3 top TH-camrs 👌
Morally they can’t hold a candle to Calvin, some good content but Calv out here giving free entries to win cars and the others are just trying to fill their pockets any chance they get. Mat with his 400k+ ticket sales of a 50k car and Chris just trying to replicate that. Just annoys me they try and frame it as giving back when it isn’t at all, only Calv is *actually* giving back.
@@AI-Records24 Agree Calv is on another level when it comes to giving back to his viewers compared to the other two
Brilliant piece of content as per Calv, You even convinced me about the Carly!! Just been on and ordered one (Finally) Been looking at them for a while and your discount code clinched it for me! Can't wait til it comes now, although i'll have to tell the good lady it was a fiver ebay job lol
😂😂
They’re brilliant you’ll love it 👍👌
@@CalvinsCarDiary It arrived mate and I couldn't be more happier with it! Even plugged it into my sons car and found a few faults. Thanks again for the discount code!
wounder what a previous owner request to dvla would show even if its the length of each owner bet that would be a interesting bit of info i like how he said service every 5k like been done more than once but due again that would mean 8 other owners didnt do 15k between them as he is technically the 9th owner your now the 10th correct me if im wrong thinking this that car is so sketchy
Cheap tyres and ‘rear pads down to nothing’. I wonder what they could mean about its past life lol
You should put on some sl01 from japan racing their light weight and they look very good on a m4 and price is not bad
The hunting on cold start is caused by the open air, air intakes
Great content Calvin. Hope we get some more answers before the give away 👍👍
I’m convinced it’s done high mileage
Wear on the seat
Lights steamed up
Bushes on rear replaced
Front bearings worn?
Battery been replaced?? (My e46 lasted 15 years)
Just doesn’t add up, can’t believe a car with that mileage would be having wheel bearing issues. You have cars that genuinely do 100k+ with no bearing issues at all. Seems dodgy to me
Looking forward to an updated video on this car.
Great advertisement to show why HPI checks can not be relied upon blindly. Great tools to use for traders and private buyers.
Calv, I’ve got a nice little manual B8 S4 which I plan to part with soon. I think that would make for great content for POD, would there be any interest from your side?
The 😅 gear knob had me at WTH
🫣
Yeah, how do you even break that? Maybe hanging onto it steadying yourself from the g forces while ragging it 🫣
Hard to imagine that mileage was real unless it was a track experience car. Things in an awful state, chap you bought it off was well dodgy too. Great you’re sorting it and rescuing it from the previous owners neglect. But let’s be honest there’s at least twice the miles on it 😅😅
I think you are spot on with it being a track experience car.
@@ub40timetrack experience cars don’t even get pushed to their limits
Parking sensors dont work after it's had a bump, that explains the alignment issue.
Looks too me the underneath looks more than 35000 miles 😮
This is the funniest used M car review, hands down.
Rapid indicator flashes on the dash usually means that an indicator bulb has blown. I'll bet at least one person reading the comments has now discovered that they need to change an indicator bulb.
Mileage blocker all day long - pull the cluster and check behind
Also, why don’t you see if Mabz from NVM will provide a few uprated parts for it? Be a great collab and he’s a BMW wizard!
Wheel bearing? 35000 miles?
It's probably because it's been hit off a curb not the mileage
