People sleep on grease all the time 🥴. Glad naturals are starting to see if applied correctly, and if you choose the right brands, grease can be one of the best sealants. You just have to make sure to follow up with a good clarifying shampoo 🤗.

Girl, the amount of growth I got from hair grease is unreal. From just 2 week ago when I last washed my hair. It looks like a different head of hair. Who knew going old school, would make this much difference?
I’ve been natural for 5 years. The first year I stop using hair grease, as I was listening to the natural hair community, my scalp felt dry and was always itchy. I started using blue magic on my scalp 4 years ago and my hair have never looked so good. I will try grease on my next braid out, your hair looks beautiful and healthy. Tfs 😊
I went back to Dax last year. Grease and water and Paul Mitchell’s The Conditioner. That is all I repurchase. And I only recommend using grease on wet hair and letting it dry for a day or two to avoid the greasy feeling.
I've recently started learning about my natural hair and doing it by myself (I'm 14) and I learned that my hair is high porosity, it explained why my hair would be moisturized so easily and be so dry shortly after. When I started using grease and oil to seal my hair rather than trying to moisturize it with oil and petroleum product my hair feels softer and shinier than ever.
Mine is low porosity but grease has grown hair so much
well oil and grease aren’t meant to moisturize anyways lol.

I use Softee Indian Hemp grease on my natural hair. It’s a good sealant and super cheap at Walmart.
the blue magic indian hemp is the bomb.. smells sooooooo good!
I just went back to using the Softee Indian Hemp too. My mom used to put it in my hair as a child. It is probably my favorite grease. I bought the Blue Magic Indian Hemp as well. I just haven't tried it yet.

I love grease. I do the LCG method with my grease and then leave my hair alone. As soon as I went back to grease, I noticed the difference. Love it
Yes Grease is the OG! We all grew up on it and had thick healthy hair. We also washed it out with sulfates tho, so clarified properly. Just was it out properly and it’s great!
Bingo !!! And everything was cheap as hell! $2 grease , $1 shampoo conditioner. V05 is a good $1.50-$1.75 as of now and leaves your hair clarified and smelling like strawberries and cream 💕👏🏾👏🏾

@@AD-jq7ow We use the term 'natural hair' for hair that hasn't been altered by chemical straightners, like relaxers and texturizers. In reality everyone has natural hair but it's more used by people with afro-textured hair, kinky hair, curly/wavy

I’m a white girl with naturally pin straight hair, no chance of being curly even when exposed to heat, and I enjoy watching these videos. I was always fascinated over curly hair like this.
I have really short hair but I have some eczema on my scalp so grease prevents my scalp from getting too dry and flaky throughout the week.
Start doing henna glosses it will grow fast. Some henna, 1/2 teaspoon too start and your favorite conditioner. Once a month...

@@tsuyuasui7297 Mix 1/2 teaspoon of henna with 2-3 teaspoons aloe vera or more too a loose paste. Let it sit a couple of hours. Then mix it with your favorite deep conditioner. Let that sit on your hair same as your conditioner directions. Then wash out. Style as usual. Do not comb thru. Should detangle fine after rinse out and your normal leave in conditioner.

It's a game changer for me. I just went two weeks where I had to do nothing to my hair. Even when I washed my hair today, she was still moist, soft and juicy. My scalp doesn't itch either. The shine, softness and texture is unreal. She is gorgeous. You don't have too lather it on either. A little goes a long way.

I used to put vaseline on my scalp and call it a day, I went natural, started using a million natural hair products, got scalp eczema...it's been 10 years.
I use grease on my natural hair, but I use a light formula. I don’t have the greasiness & it makes my blowouts last longer. You just have to find the right grease for your type of hair.

I have been using grease again for almost a year. My only issue is that's greasy but it keeps my hair moisturized when I seal with it,for a long time
I'm literally going back to grease because my scalp is so dry and I couldn't find out what was causing it. I recently went to my old beautician to get my hair trimmed because I had bad ends. I told her to cut it and press my hair. Man..... When I tell you I smelled it when she cracked open that grease it took me back!! Let me say my hair has grown and stayed moisturized for over 2 weeks now! Still straight! Keep in mind I haven't relaxed my hair in 7 to 8 years! My hair was flowing and blowing in the wind! I'm going back to grease again! I had long hair when I was a kid. Now I can't kick all my natural hair products like my Camille Rose but I will be greasing my scalp and my ends from now on.
I went back to grease because a lot of products still had my hair feeling dry. At the moment Ive been mixing it with moisturiser and it works!
Exactly!!! My hair routine is literally over $80 and when i’m done my hair is still dry. I might as well use grease and call it a day
I'm natural & it's nothing wrong with using hair grease/pomade. Find the right one & stick to it & your hair will be just fine. Doo Gro, Super Gro, Royal Crown, & Murray's are my favorites.
Grease is not bad for your scalp and hair. It’s actually pretty good. It’s not a moisturizer but a sealant. As long as you remember that you’ll be fine. I use grease on my hair and scalp and my hair is growing.

Dude ok I need info!!! I noticed a difference in my hair when my mom use to apply greeese then when I do it now!!!!! I swear my head is always shedding!!! It’s so brittle n scalp itches n is always irritating I tried everything!!!!

I have a real bad case of flaky scalp. I started using medicated shampoo and medicated grease on the scalp and it went away. I literally did not see my flakes again until I ran out of the products and stopped using them
@@Gabbame11 bro me too!!! It feels good liek I just washed it but it feels itchy, dry n painful dry like the life is sucked out of the scalp! I’ve noticed when I do oils it just sits on my hair I touch it n my hand it covered in it... maybe do a grease method n sit under a blow dryer to help it seep in your scalp??

Girl, your hair looks AMAZING!!! and yes I use grease (vasaline) in my hair, it last very long but over time ur hair does have dust inside it, at the same time it does feel moisturized
I use Dax pressing oil when flat ironing my natural hair. That's the only way my hair won't revert. I use a small dab of my fingertip so I don't have a greasy mess you won't know I used any grease. Great results!
Use a lighter grease, like sofftee . They have a mango butter one I love, smells great, light like a coconut oil grease but coats the strands with far less product.
And softee is inexpensive too! It's easily found at many dollar stores.
My mom used that exact same green Dax grease on me and my sister's hair. I had almost waist length hair as a child so my mom swears by the stuff! 💕💯

Hiii Amber🤗😘 I've used a mixture of grease, leave ins and moisturizers and this concoction has my hair flourishing! I have 4c hair and the first day is really greasy but after that my hair is soft for weeks! Sometimes I don't even use conditioner, but I leave my twists in anyway.

I transitioned from perm to natural in 2013 and I stopped using hair grease since.... (memory lose here). That's how long. I remember the greasy feeling and still use to grease my hair every 2 days. Now hydrating my hair and using moisturizing products pays off big time.

I love it, next time try it with the loc or lco method because grease is like a oil so it’s more of a sealant, that’s how I would use it, you might like it better, but I definitely want to try it.

At least you used the best kind. Dax was the best back in the day. But I can't use it today. Too heavy on my 4a hair.

I used to use grease on my natural hair but i hated the sticky feeling. Back in the day i knew it was wash day when my mom opened the grease and had her comb.
I know I’m a few years late but I just have to say that when Bantu knots were my go to look grease made huge difference. I tried it without grease a few times after everyone said how bad it was for your hair and my Bantu never were never the same. Grease was slept on for too long lol
I am a greaser but it is a scalp conditioner so it should be on the scalp and it will go through your hair and it will keep your hair conditions for a while. Im a basic natural hair girl. I grease my scalp and wash every other week. And it lasts a long time. Its very good for dry hair but if you tend to be more oily o wouldn't recommend it.
I haven't used grease in years, I probably wouldn't try it again the smell , greasy feel and it wade down my hair. Thank you for your review.

I've been using hair grease on my hair since I was born even to this day. Natural or not. (I'm naturally now been for a year or longer now.) I'll say grease has done my hair great justice. I mainly use it on my scalp tho.
Just seeing the way the grease made your braids lay brings back so many memories of childhood. Definitely will have to see how this works on my hair now.
I love hair grease. I always use it when I straighten my hair it's not even an option for me. I've never used it on my natural hair before I know it is a fantastic sealant. I may try it in the near future when it gets warm again. Hair came out looking cute👍👌

I love your results! I don't use grease but you make me want to. lol! I don't like the greasy feeling either but from what I remember that oily feeling should start going away each day. So by day 3 or 4 it won't be as oily. I would assume you wouldn't need to add any more moisture/oil the rest of the week. My hair isn't as long or as thick as your hair so I would definitely try less. I also want to try the function of beauty hair products. I love how custom they are.

I use Tropic Isle Jamaican Castor Hair Food as my "grease". It's both a moisturiser and sealant. The wax elements ensure great definition and the initial greasiness fades away as my hair absorbs it, leaving it lovely; soft and defined (I keep my hair in twists).
Using grease on your scalp is so good for your hair. I use black magic grease on my scalp, not my hair strands, for nourishment. Black magic grease smells great. I used it while I had relaxed hair snd now that I'm natural.

I have recently been using Natty naturals Bohemian Collection Hair + Body Butter the same way you used the DAX grease... I start by spritzing my hair with a mixture of water+Amala/Lavender/Ginger/Rosemary oils and then the butter and I Flat twist just like you did...LOVE TGE RESULTS!

I use burnt sugar pomade by oyin handmade and it gives you the hair grease feel without the questionable products. Its worth a try.

My hair loved Tcb hairfood, the light green green grease, it made my hair soft, smooth and shiny it actually penetrated the hair and didn't flare up my hand eczema unlike the original yellow one which just sat on my hair and made it stiff. Ever since they stopped making the green hairfood I haven't found a hair grease that works for me. So annoying!

I have used blue magic which was fine. My mum combed my hair with castor, Breil cream or vaseline for years. But Dax, for me was a no no because my hair started to break off big time. I threw Dax in the bin. My favourite grease is natural shea butter which i love.
Looks beautiful ❤... i think cuz your hair is dense and thick that it can handle grease not a looser textures can handle the weight of it ... but as for greasy feel if it was coconut oil in your hair would you think differently about it being " greasy" ?🤔 i only say that because we pile all these other oils in our natural hair but still think that because its an oil coming from an exoctic coast that its not " greasy" 😂 its the same things some oils are lighter but they all leave an oil spot on pillow case ... shea , castor , jojoba , dax its all oil ... the only diff i think is how long is stays on ur hair ... i just think we sike ourselves ourselves out is all ... im def been experimenting with grease too ❤ ... other than castor oil these other "sealing" oils dont do it for my hair... i think adding grease to other natural products is a win.
Traditional hair grease is an excellent sealant! You just have to use a sulfate shampoo to get the petroleum out of your strands-it's the only thing that'll break it down and clean it off. Water and sulfate free shampoos WILL NOT work. Your hair will look & feel moisturized....because it's still has grease on it. So I don't use it for that reason-I don't want to HAVE to use something harsher to get anything out of my hair. I have high porosity hair, and I have to be very careful with it. But if you don't mind sulfate shampoos, old school hair grease is fine. I can see maybe with your hair under braids or something that it being even more helpful to prevent moisture loss while in a protective style with added hair. Just make sure the moisture is there BEFORE applying it. It is water repellant. Again which is why it's a great sealant. Some products just require other types of products to maintain healthy hair while you use them that's all. 👍

I tried it when i had exams a couple months ago i put aloooooot of it and then twisted my hair, i did this every week for one month and i lost aloooot of hair so be careful with it and use tiny pea size for every chuncky twist don't be crazy like me and handle it like a leave in conditioner that's the worst thing to do i'm telling you girls🙅♀️ fantastic results btw 😍😍👏🏼
I grew up on Dax grease (green one) i credit it for maintaining my length and retention as a child into adulthood. Ive always had long booty crack length hair. I actually think I'm going to go back to using it on my ends to ensure that its not drive.
