      Thanks! I'm pretty simple with my gear....I never buy the latest stuff. So, while I've considered doing something like that, it definitely would just be a video of my mismatched and old gear haha

    best way to see the tetons. Go in winter. go to west yellowstone, get a snowmobile, and climb up lionhead, 10,400ft, look to the south and woohoo, there they are in all their splendor!

      @@DirtInMyShoes Yes, I found it. Published about 2 months ago. I mistook your comment about it in the video.
      Did buy both Yellowstone and Grand Teton itineraries last night. They are excellent. Our trip was pretty much planned out is a matter of hours. My sister and I were so overwhelmed of where to start, where to stay, what attractions to visit - let alone, find etc. Your guides made everything so much easier. My sister and I usually do all the travel planning.
      Quotes from my sister:
      "Wow the itineraries are incredible!!!"
      "Yes I m feeling MUCH better about booking this. I have never done a national park vacation and when I was trying to figure out lodging in proximity to the parks and which of the 97 airports it was really overwhelming. :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing: That Dirt in My Shoes chick did a spectacular job of outlining everything. Make sure you add the cost of purchasing the itineraries to the app."

    Great video! Hoping to visit grand teton, yellowstone and glacier national parks next July. The national park lodges seem to be the most convenient to cut down on driving. Im just concerned they dont have air conditioning. What is the weather like in these parks in July? Is air conditioning typically not needed? Also, trying to figure out how many nights for all 3 parks. Is 10 nights enough? Would probably fly into spokane and fly home from salt lake city based on flight and rental car prices. Thank you!

      It's usually ok without AC....a little uncomfortable, but being at a higher elevation, things usually cool down nicely in the evenings. For a sample schedule for seeing all three parks, check out this post (near the end) www.dirtinmyshoes.com/how-many-days-should-i-spend-in-glacier-national-park/

    I love your channel, and your videos are so informative, thanks for making these! My wife and I will be visiting this park for the first time this fall with our (will be) 9-month old baby. We currently have an Airbnb booked in Wilson for 9/29 through 10/4. However, we haven't booked our flights yet, and so we're still flexible on the dates (have until July to cancel the Airbnb for free). I'm a little concerned about the possibility of bad weather with our current dates, and are considering maybe trying something closer to mid-September. The only issue is that increases the cost of our lodging by about $500 to $600. I"m not really sure what to do. Do you have any advice for what is the better time to go?

    • @DirtInMyShoes
      @DirtInMyShoes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, it's so hard to know. It's snowed on me over Labor Day weekend several times. Last year, I was in the Tetons the first week of October and it was absolutely AMAZING...the best fall trip I've ever had. If it were me, I'd probably keep the reservations you have. The weather is so temperamental in Sept, even if you changed your reservations, you may still have winter weather!

    • @justinsiegrist
      @justinsiegrist ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DirtInMyShoes Thanks so much for the response! That's what I was leaning toward - just keep the reservation. The only other option I was considering was to maybe shoot for late August. However, what we learned on our last trip with our baby is that with her small wake windows, it's best to minimize the amount of time between leaving lodging and arriving at our planned activity. And with the crowds/traffic in late August, I think I'm willing to take a chance on October. Worst case scenario we have bad weather and spend more time in our awesome Airbnb with beautiful views, and spend more time in Jackson. Still not a bad way to spend a few days.

    • @DirtInMyShoes
      @DirtInMyShoes  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you plan on doing any cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, you could easily fill 3 days in the winter. But less if you don't want to be out in the snow/cold for that much time :)

    • @DirtInMyShoes
      @DirtInMyShoes  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a few roads in the park that don't allow vehicles over a certain length, but you should be able to go to most places. If you don't time things out right, then you will struggle to find parking in the busiest spots, especially in a larger vehicle. If you want more specific help with this, I include a section about navigating the park in an oversized vehicle with the Grand Teton Itinerary linked in the video description. Have fun!

    • @DirtInMyShoes
      @DirtInMyShoes  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're not in a rush, I would drive through the South Entrance of Yellowstone and into Grand Teton from there. You can stop at some cool spots in both parks as you travel from one to the other! If you're just trying to get down to Jackson as quickly as possible, it will be faster to drive out to Island Park and down from there on the main highway.
