We just spent the first week of June in Grand Teton NP. We hiked Taggart Lake and Bradley lake and got to see a moose chase a bear up a tree at Taggart Lake. We also did a few trails up by Colter Bay and saw a bear out by the marina there. Such a great area and we can't wait to come back and explore more!

Very helpful, we're visiting from Scotland in September, and are looking for some fairly easy trails, this is great, thanks 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇺🇲

Thanks for the easy hike guide! Of note to those reading comments here: the Jenny Lake shuttle stops running on September 30 so , apparently no October shuttle. Also, I got a bit turned around at Colter Bay [easy to do if you don't pay attention] and ended up on the Hermitage Point trailhead, which is under construction. The trail currently starts as a dirt road then heads to the cross paths of either Swann Lake or Heron Pond. Once you get to the actual trail [about 1/4 mile] the hike is very pleasant out and back in the lodgepole pines. One apparently can make a loop to Swann but the rains came and it was easier just to head back.

Great video!! We were just in the Tetons just before the 4th! We did cascade canyon from string lake and then up to overnight at lake solitude! Our plan was to hike out over paintbrush but with all of the snow it wasn’t an option this time . However the lake was spectacular even though it was covered in ice and snow

Please do this for Glacier NP if you haven't already.

Excellent suggestions. I am curious have you ever done the hike to Delta Lake? I heard you have to Boulder scramble, but that it’s doable wanted to get your opinion. Thanks in advance and really enjoying your videos.

Yes, I've done it. As long as you're comfortable climbing up and over boulders, it's not too bad...it's just slow-going :)

Question - I've only ever been to GT in the fall. I have an opportunity to go this spring because I'll be in the area anyway...when would you say is the earliest it's worth visiting? I'm not a snow bunny and am not hiking in piles of snow. I'm guessing June is probably the earliest, maybe May? I'll be in the area mid April, is it worth a try?

I mean, it's always beautiful. You could drive the outer park road at that time, and possibly walk/bike the inner park road. There will still be a lot of snow on the trails though!

Are you planning on making a trip to New River Gorge now that it’s a National park?

I am! We were supposed to go both last year and this year but had unexpected surgeries come up both summers -- it's on my list for next year though!

How safe are the trails? I guess there’s no final answer for this question, but any bear attacks or are bears popular on the trails?

You'll see bears in this park. I always hike with bear spray, and if you can hike in a group of two or more, it's much safer. Have fun!

Are these trails do-able mid October?

It totally depends on the weather, but usually you can at least get to few of the lower elevation options!
