    Love the videos! We went to Yellowstone(7days) and the Tetons(5days) last year. We were out west about a month. This summer we are doing Tetons(5 days), Yellowstone (3 days), Southern Idaho (4days) and Glacier (5 days). I think the best advice you have given was in an earlier video where you said to go early and pack a lunch. We are always in the park by 6 to see the wildlife, but stop by 11 to get the stove out and cook lunch by a beautiful setting. If any is reading this comment and has teens, hike to Phelps lake in the Tetons and do the Rock jump! Our kids had a blast! Thanks Matt and Cheryl!

    Thanks again Cheryl and Matt. Continued on to Teton and Yellowstone following your channel after our 5 day stay in Rocky Mountain National Park. We spent 4 days in Jackson and Teton and 5 days in Yellowstone. Really helped to have your advice about time allocation for certain venues. We spent a tremendous amount of time sitting in traffic in Yellowstone, so glad we allotted the extra day there. Probably would have tried to do both parks from one base camp if we hadn’t watched your videos first. Excellent advice to stay in at least two different locations.

    Thanks for all the great info in your videos! Getting in my Prius and starting my 3 month road trip/ boondocking trip in less than 3 weeks. Planning on hitting every state north and west of Texas and almost every National Park on the way, so excited!

    Funny how you added the Black Hills and Glacier to the mix; as this is exactly what I am planning to do in Sept of 2025. Driving from PA to the Badlands and progressing to Yellowstone. The jaunt to Glacier was just "put on the table" and is still under consideration. Then Craters of the Moon and Grand Teton followed by other National Monuments but ending at Rocky Mountain NP before the road trip back East.

    We are planning a trip to Yellowstone and the Tetons next July. We'll stay in a little house in down town Jackson for 3 nigths then go to Absaroka Lodge to stay for 4 nights while we do Yellowstone. We have never been to the Tetons but have stay at Absaroka last time we were at Yellowstone.

    Yellowstone for wolves and Tetons for moose and a toss up for the rest. I once asked a park ranger in Yellowstone where we could see moose and his response was Grand Teton NP. I've seen videos of moose in YNP but they are in the far backcountry. In Teton they are all over the place. My dream is to see a bull moose like you just did, maybe not that close. That will have to be in the fall for those full antlers. Thanks for the videos.

    Just received the 4 guides I bought from you for Yellowstone, Teton, Glacier and Banff/Jasper! I've only gotten through the one for Glacier and already I've saved more than the entire cost of all 4 guides due to the information in that single guide! Thank you SO much! I'm a major planner and have probably spent 70+ hours planning our trip, yet your guides gave me information I had not even thought of. I love the way you've made the guides so readable and easy to follow. Excited about our trip being even better than we had hoped. Thanks for your help!

    We did a white water float near Jackson and it was awesome. The hiking in Grand Tetons is way better than in Yellowstone. Both places are great, but I prefer Grand Tetons.

    If you like the Tetons, you’ll like the Sawtooths which are every bit as pretty and the hiking is better.

    Hello Matt and Cheryl- we’ve been subscribers for a while and love the channel. My wife and I live in Oklahoma and have traveled to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons every summer for 25 years. I’m a paraplegic. We have a 40 foot handicap accessible RV. We’ve been over every mile of both parks. Love it. If ever you want to discuss handicap accessibility of these parks we can help. Go West!

    Such a timely video; and I truly enjoy all your content!
    We are flying in/out of Bozeman from NC in July. Had a full week booked at a hotel in West Yellowstone (probably booked it last September?); and the more I researched, the more I was feeling like this was going to short us on Grand Teton time. As of Thursday-we are now spending Sun-Weds in West Yellowstone; Weds-Fri at Colter Bay Village; and Friday night in Bozeman, before an early Saturday flight home. I feel MUCH better about this plan.
    I also booked the Kayak Yellowstone Lake Tour, just a few days ago; based on one of your other videos!

    Never use one home base - this is the best advice! The two parks look very close on Google, but the speed limit is generally 45 mph, let alone the winding roads in Yellowstone further reduce the limit to 35 or even 25 mph. We stayed in West Yellowstone, translating to 30 miles one-way to get to the heart of Yellowstone. As for Grand Teton, we chose Victor, Idaho as the home base to avoid breaking the bank (Lodging in Jackson is beyond pricey), but the only downside is to drive the terrifying Teton Pass. lol

      I wish I would have known this before booking our hotel :(
      We are planning on only staying in west Yellowstone. But we’re hoping to see Tentons.

    If you are camping in the park do you still need the national park pass? We are spending 6 days at yellowstone and 6 days in grand tetons. Super stoked!

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you will need a parks pass to enter, even if you are camping. Have fun!

      One pass is good for both of them. I’m not sure how long it is good for.

    Hoping to visit grand teton, yellowstone and glacier next summer. I have been watching all your videos. They are so helpful! Based on flight and rental car prices, thinking we would fly into salt lake city and fly home from spokane. How many nights would you recommend for all 3 parks? Thank you.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ideally it's nice if you can do at least 2 in Grand Teton, 3 in Yellowstone, and 3 in Glacier. Have a great time.

    Love your video it's great information to get. We are coming into Yellowstone in June. We wanted to see both Grand Teton loop to drive and Yellowstone. Do you have some advice for what is the best places that is Handicap accessible? We have two days in Yellowstone that we have to hit the top places to visit. What order of the loop vs Yellowstone would you suggest to do in the order with staying on the West Yellowstone area.

      Thanks for watching. For accessibility, your best resource will be the official national park pages, see below.

      Yellowstone Accessibility:

    Going to both of these parks next month 😁. I have booked 3 nights in Victor and 3 nights in West Yellowstone. Would it be worth it to add a night or 2 in Gardiner? We changed out return flight recently and now have an extra 3 days in the area.

    • @WereintheRockies
      @WereintheRockies  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wonderful!! If you're really into wildlife and want to spend some time in Lamar Valley, then Gardiner is a great place to stay since it's one of the closest areas to Lamar. If wildlife watching isn't what you're interested in, West Yellowstone works great.

      That's a loaded question, depending on if you're trying to avoid crowds, see wildlife, avoid storms, etc. Here's a link to our article, When is the Best Time to Visit Yellowstone, wereintherockies.com/best-time-to-visit-yellowstone/ Hopefully it can give you some insight.

    Isn't the beauty of nature majestic? How could anyone see all of this and think it was created by anything other than billions of years of evolution and random chance?
