I can't see a way to book an appointment for Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector in San Antonio. Do they not have that option?
Hey, I’m trying to switch my license over from CA to TX. What is the “New to Texas Inspection”? I just went to Take 5 oil and got a safety inspection… is this not enough?

I am moving to Plano (a very popular area of DFW metroplex) and was so stressed about a Driver's License appointment, because the next one available as of today is January of 2022! Pro Tip: You can get your license anywhere in Texas, so it helps to take a day to drive a couple hours away to a smaller city/town. I got an appointment for October instead of January doing this step!

Wow. Where do I start? I started going through the process so I knew some of this but the DPS wasn't helpful at all. They said they were busy and to use the kiosk. The only option I saw was new Texas drivers license. I think I made the wrong appointment. Now I'm screwed. I've been here a little over a month and still haven't done my plates because I'm a procrastinator. I guess I'll have to spend more time jumping through ridiculous hoops. Thanks for the info, I'll probably have to watch a few times.

I believe there is a fee depending on how long it's been after the 30 day period
I just transfer my license from California back to Texas. I had to give them my California license. Back in California they just punch a hole in the expiration date

The process in CA is actually much easier, more expensive but much simpler. Aside from smog check there is no vehicle inspection. In CA almost everything can be completed over the mail or online. You can ease your wait time in CA by going to a DMV that’s near a more affluent area. Educated wealthy people don’t utilize the DMV unless they have to.
