Why isn't there Virtual Console? We've been waiting to play Wii Sports on the Switch and then they give us Switch Sports? And don't get me started on paying for online
Nintendo: Creator of childhood memories, destroyer of childhood nostalgia. Nintendo: Destroyer of emulators, creator of why emulators exist. I have always found it odd they still haven't released any gamecube games onto NSO. I know they like to wait an unreasonable amount of time, but good lord its been over 20 years. The gamecube could legally vote and drink in the US.
Personally, I think its major letdown is the fact that it's a subscription! Compared to the Wii (U) and 3DS eShops, which you paid per game, you get a load of games. Some of them you might even never play!
Don't dump on The Wily Wars. Classic MM titles are easily available in the legacy collections and this is one of the only times Wily Wars has made it off Genesis. Now have I played it on NSO? No because I refuse to give Nintendo money for this service lol.
suck doesnt even begin to describe it, i cannot believe they dont allow to even do the bare minimum of just playing the online games like mario maker or splatoon, something that was FREE before and hasnt improved in any way to justify paying for it. it legit is abominable.
The worst part is that eventually they're gonna close the eshops like for the 3ds and wii u, and since they're subscription only, there will be absolutely NO way to play the games unless you own the next console.
Interesting fact: Metroid was never considered for the N64 at all, the series director was so ambitious with what he wanted out of Metroid’s first 3D game that he completely rejected the N64 in favour of staying on handhelds until the next console generation!
The creator of the Metroid franchise was gunpei yokoi; who also created the game boy and the game boy pocket. He was hit by a car and killed before the Nintendo 64 debuted. Miyamoto said he wasn't interested in taking over the franchise and that's why it floundered for several years.
I’ve had NSO since day one, but never upgraded to premium. I do enjoy the NES/SNES games, but I already own most of them. I’ve decided not to renew after my subscription expires because it’s just not worth it.
I own as much old games as I can get my hands on so I don’t have to repay for games over and over. Not everyone wants that to take up space in their house though. Having it online is a nice option. But then again you can download them on pc for free 🤷♀️
Nintendo is scared of how much better their old games are compared to their new ones, so they only make available antiquated games. Want to play mario galaxy 2? GO PLAY ODYSSEY INSTEAD.
I would have been okay with most of it, but after watching my friend try to play 007 Goldeneye online and seeing/hearing how bad the lag was… i’ll stick with my OG N64 or PC emulation as they are clearly the right choices!
I literally have earthbound and mother 3 on emulators because Nintendo switch online is not worth the price. And also something to add, during online play for smash bros, it can lag so much, I paused the game even if both people have good wifi, but Mario kart works just fine. When I had switch online, the only 3 things I used were online play, old games, and cloud data, but not much.
I think Nintendo is too focused on making mobile apps and releasing games on a yearly basis to care much about the online service. Even if they do exactly what the fans want, Nintendo probably won’t make that much more money. Not to mention that genuine criticism towards the company is drowned out by many other fans complaining about everything else lol.
I'm sure there's some old dusty forgotten rights scroll in the janitors closet for some of these old games that prevent them from being put there on nso, but still that can't be very many of them! The way I see it they either want more cash for remakes they create in the future, or are too lazy to have the things adjusted to be played on switch.
Paying for internet twice sucks. Who'd have thought. For real though, do people actually buy NSO just for emulation? I feel like the service only encourages you to sail the 7 seas.
All the games you want on the Nes are not owned by nintendo. Its not like nintendo goes "yo Capcom, I'm putting snes emu shit on my service, give me megaman breh". And outside of those publishers rereleasing games, deal making is harder than you think with trademarks that old. MS tried to make the new xbox backwards compatible on their own hardware, but even with their money, 95% of the og xbox library doesnt work because of licensing issues. You might want to do some research about topics before you make a video, buddy. Your quality is alright but if you dont understand a thing, dont make a video about it
Nintendo have had the switch out for a good number of years over 7 i think. Thats roughly thr same amount of time the NES, SNES, N64 and so on for each generation. So why did they not have this stuff out on day 1? Legacy Gaming needed to be out on launch and have every game available for free consideri g your paying for a subscription. Come on Nintendo get your shit together

I think the main reason with some games like Castlevania and Mega Man not being on these services is because of the fact that they have collections already on switch, same with Secret of Mana, yes some of these came later but it still barely changes anything, the Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 even came before the switch so obviously those werent gonna put those games on the service
its because companys still want money and considering how mutch u pay for switch online they would be getting pennys for putting theyre games on there but thats just my take on it
Gameboy has only been here for 14 months, it doesn’t count. N64 has only been here 3 years, give it a break.
