This digital everything schtick is literally all about control. we must fight for freedom and greatly raise our standards of the quality of products and services we will accept as a people. Even just to go back to the 90s in terms of freedom and expectations of quality would be great.

I literally forgot this game existed; the latest update was several months ago and nothing else. The game was too safe and felt very modernized. I believe that is the main problem to it's downfall; they should had gone all in and attempted to carry the same atmosphere and charm as Strikers Charged with it's mechanics, hazards, and the Character's attitude. It may have been a fun game for some or most, but very forgettable. And that's the worst fate for your game, being forgettable.
As someone who played the original Xenoblade back in 2012 on Wii, Xenoblade DE was well worth the $60. The character models were completely overhauled, the visuals touched up to HD, various Qol improvements that made the gameplay better, retouched ost, and a whole epilogue with 30hrs of new content. You’re comparing a remaster that goes above what was expected to a full on remake/reimagining like FFVII remake.
It sounds like the game should have been 40 bucks, like the metroid remaster, the vast majority is still the same exact game . You'd buy a 30 hour dlc for 60? You're exactly part if the problem on the consumer side, you allow them to get away with it and cope being a tool and not measuring the value of a product outside your emotional investment on the brand

You forgot to mention one thing about the Spyro and Crash trilogies that makes them stand out even more. Nintendo isn't being greedy. They just sell there big hitters at full price which I've always expected from game companies anyways growing up & im 29 now. The triple aaa games are always full price & retain value
Part of the problem with Nintendo is they have gone to extreme lengths to corner the "concerned parent buying video games for their kids market", parents that might not buy their kid a product from Sony or Xbox will buy from Nintendo because they've gone to great lengths to earn trust from parents by cultivating a family friendly image.
Well their online store goes against that philosophy lol. There’s so much shovelware crap on there with nudity and shock violence, it’s worse than steam in that regard.
BRO THEY JUST NEED TO MAKE A NEW ORIGINAL GAME WITH A NEW CONCEPT, IT CAN BE RATED E FIR EVERYONE THAT DONT MATTER. LOOK AT SMASH BROS THATS A FUN GAME
You're clearly not old enough to have experienced Nintendo in the 90's when they went to SIGNIFICANTLY greater lengths to corner that market. Nintendo of today is nothing compared to then. In fact really, the complete opposite of what you claim is true, Nintendo has opened up far more to mature content since then.
@@rcdarkangel lol I was literally a child during that time. I grew up in the 90s, and am well aware of the history. Nintendo has loosened up on allowing that kind of content on their platform, but it still doesn't negate the fact that they view that market as their bread and butter. Almost every baffling decision they make, largely about the internet, can be summed up in trying to make their console the obvious choice for parents who want something as safe as possible for their young children. They have to make some concessions to be able to exist in this day and age, sure, that's a given, but they're still a company that largely makes consoles and games targeted at families with children. Just because they arent as crazy as before, doesn't mean what I said isn't true, many parents that will not buy their kid an Xbox or ps5 will buy their kid a switch because of the Nintendo heavy marketing and catering to them. They're seen as the Disney of video games, parents feel they can rely on Nintendo products to be suitable for their children and they can buy it for them without any risk of their kid seeing anything age inappropriate.
23:51 - Who DID make this decision? That's the relevant question. None of these trends are a coincidence; Nintendo's current downward spiral of quality coincides directly with Satoru Iwata, former game designer and CEO of the company, dying and being replaced not with another game designer, but with an accountant. The Wii, Wii U, and Switch were all created by a company run by someone who made video games, but now that company is run by someone who made financial decisions. It wouldn't surprise me at all if this factored into Reggie's decision to jump ship as well. If you want a glimpse at Nintendo's future (should they continue down this path), take a look at the American auto industry in the 1970s, when the bean counters took over from the car guys.
Xenoblade Chronicles DE released with a fully revamped UI, brand new upscaled environmental and character textures alongside a completely new orchestrated soundtrack, revamped quest progression, and completely redone cutscenes. Not to mention the included brand new 10 - 20 hour post-game epilogue. I agree with every other point in this video but I'm heavily questioning your criticisms on Xenoblade.
Dude said at the start that he didn’t like Xenoblade 2 for some reason so his critiques on them are not genuine and shouldn’t be taken seriously. If his opinion has changed in the almost 2 years since this video then I hope he’ll make a follow up before of when the Switch 2 is announced.

3ds/wii u era is somewhat unappreciated in my opinion, there was so much that was done right, but most people looked at the negative parts of that era. Both Mario and Pokémon games on 3ds were hated by fans. Smash 4 is starting to get hate. Yes, Mario party and paper Mario were at there worst during that era, the other Mario games were still on par in Mario standards and fun experiences. Pokémon on the other hand, still tried to make the games look amazing for the console, but Pokémon on switch is very lazy and the switch ones look like shovelware garbage 🗑️ . Smash 4 has better single player modes, newcomers and is the last entry to have trophies instead of cheap lazy pngs as spirits. Smash run was short but more enjoyable than world of light. the 3ds version was better than Wii U version but still phenomenal games at the end of the day.
Yes. Something that bothers me about all the consoles as they seem to be going towards digital only. And that we will not actually own the game and they can shut it off anytime they want. I might end up just stopping the hobby if it gets to that point.
@@UltimateGattai This is why i have so few Switch games to begin with. Most of this shit is just ports I can buy on better hardware or emulate for free.
Good video but you are dead wrong about the Xenoblade games. For Xenoblade Chronicles DE they ported the entire game to their newest engine, added a lot of quality of life features like adding quest tracking among many other things. They redid all assets (I mean they even fully changed the art style), added an complete extra (never before released game) to the bundle. If we take FF7 that you compare to they shoped one game into 4 very linear games with DLC. Not sure how you consider that to be more value? All other Xenoblade games have had DLC but every DLC have given you a complete extra game to play through on top of more stuff to do in game. Xenoblade is easily the most generous series currently available. But yeah I agree to many points like Features locked behind amiibos.
A lot of people seem to say this so maybe Xenoblade just isn't for me (the second one for sure isnt). I do say in the video that not everyone will agree with all my points so fair enough
@@bossrushgame DE was much more work than many remasters from PS3/360 or PS4/One, where the higher quality assets have already been there since release (in the PC version), and they charge you almost full-price to play that version on your next-gen console ... ☹ But it's still too expensive for a remaster.
It's a shame you didn't talk about Animal Crossing: New Horizons because it has 90% less content than 3DS Animal Crossing: New Leaf did. But because of the pandemic, it sold so many copies. I'm very worried for the faith of the franchise.
One of the weirdest nintendo does not provide is a message system. It would be easier to allow send short messages with friend codes instead of having to connect a facebook chat or discord chat. Even if nintendo would both have a kids word filter (including not sending real adresses) or option for no filter and a friend list. I think you missed a point how absolutely geniously scummy their marketing is now. Marketing for games has evolved to a level of brand reconition, trailers only and annoying pracitces like limited time stuff. There is no reason for pokemon scarlet and violet and sword and shield being extremely popular despite being terrible or a lot of games in general and this is mostly due to their marketing.
The thing those games are the best selling on the switch are that it's pokemon..........and pokemon it's THE BIGGEST FRANCHISENIN THE WORLD.....and it dosent matter what game they put out (shown by SwSh and SV like u said) being bad games................that people are going to buy them even though there bad because pokemon is a magical franchise that HAS 0 COMPETITION.....so no matter what crap they release it will be bad
Ugh, how are those scummy? You don’t have to buy the limited time stuff and it’s cool for the people they are intended for. You sound like you’re just mad
@@xxxkueckxxx your right. I probably could of listed more stuff and not only talk about pokemon(which was not my intention when i was making it. sorry, why does this have so many likes) but then oops, became a pokemon rant. in my defense i was (probably) sleepy and not thinking. anyways, there is a lot more you could be going into specifically for pokemon, like legends arceus you could not 100% if you did not buy the 4th gen rerelease in a limited time frame. I don't know if they changed it but even if they did it really sucked for people back then especially pokemon fans, since it was released at a perfect window for holiday sales and for you to buy both if you were on the fence with it. not only that pokemon 4th gen rereleases were not even made by the people who normally make since they had decided to outsorce to get things done quicker which basically ruined what the 4th gen could of been. they never force you to buy it but people will anyways and they know that, with extra pushes and a much higher price than what it should be. sword and shield... well it just kinda was bad, it was the generation that introduced pokemon home and it was really when gamefreak started to do this i think. Pokemon home tries to shovel as much money out of you through so many ways, and i think it is also the only way to transfer out of certain generations. there was no way people who knew about pokemon to know it was going to be bad. scarlet and violet also tries to squeeze as much money as possible from its fans just like pokemon home. pokemon really likes to suck up money from its fans(it is their fault for spending it i guess, i don't think it makes pokemon any better though). trailers don't really show gameplay and you basically could put almost anything which is the reason why you only see trailers for games most of the time. This comment is getting too long now. there is a lot more stuff i am missing definitely(there is more i could say), but there is no way i can list anymore. video game marketing has been happening for very long, it's a culmination of a ton of stuff that really makes games sell. they really know what they are doing to get the most money possible and thats their goal.
They are Pokémon, the most popular in ever to exist in the history of the world. Pokémon alone is worth like 100billion dollars. Nintendo is worth more than Microsoft and Sony combined due to Pokémon. All they needed was one picture of pikachu and millions of copies were guaranteed.
Man, if you think Nintendo is greedy now, you should go back and look at the shit they were doing in the 1980s-90s. A Nintendo published game would have an average cost of $40 in 80s-90s dollars. Adjust for inflation and those games would cost like $90 now. Then all their accessories had insane prices too.
For games moving from WiiU to Switch, I always just thought of them as ports to move good games to a console with actual customers and I bought them used, but your points are valid and the pricing is unreasonable for purchasing as new with their minimal effort.

@@tadtacosinc I mean what you explained is literally doing the bare minimum they ported them and did absolutely zero work on them purely so that they can make more money AKA a cash grab, The only reason it seems like a good thing in this scenario is because Nintendo is so stingy about re-releasing their games and giving us actual official ways to even play them so most of the time we have to resort to emulation

I'm just glad that the dungeons follow a more contemporary Zelda design ethos again at least. They're still brain wracking like BotW's dungeons, but they have much stronger direction now i think.
its refreshing to see someone viewing nintendo without the rose-tinted glasses of 20+ years of nostalgia. been really disappointed with nintendo the past few years and you summarized it very well.
Nintendo's usually been pretty good all the time, except with their sports titles recently, and Animal Crossing New Horizons, where all of them got treated badly, but their other releases are still of top quality.
Feels like most youtubers Stan over Nintendo when Nintendo consistently shits on their fans. Like imagine only having a switch and missing out on all the titles the switch can't run because it's old af. Not to mention, switch games are artificially expensive especially compared to other consoles.
I'm impressed how you were able to put together how i feel about Nintendo as a whole ever since i played Smash Ultimate. I was like 14 when i got the Switch with Botw and got myself Mario Odyssey when it came out and with my younger brain just being positive about a game the second it was fun, both those games were masterpieces in my book obviously. When Smash Ultimate came out, i wanted to play it, even tho i'm not a competitive player. The game having a story mode, the whole aspect of collecting spirits and being able to play it with some friends and my brother from time to time was what appealed to me. But the amount of polish, details, characters, maps, just the love they put into this game and how you are able to feel it was amazing to see and the dlc characters were also pretty good imo. The last time i felt that back then was with Pokemon Black/White 2 and nowadays, i only feel this with the soulsborne games or other gems like Celeste or Hollow Knight. But ever since Nintendo released Super Mario All Stars with not only the most minimum of effort put into it, full price and a time limit for availability, i grew very critical and cautious of everything related to Nintendo games or games in general, since everyone in their right mind would find this decision weird. I even grew to look back onto Botw and Odyssey and today, i think they are very mediocre and sometimes mindnumbingly boring. The only game on the Switch that came out since then, where i was positivly surprised by, was Mario Bros Wonder. The creativity alone that was put in it is genius and i was excited to see what the hell else they would go for every other level. Sure, some levels had the same ideas, but i can understand to an extent that not every single level can have an idea of it's own and that is fine. I still don't think it should be a full priced title, but it's more worth the money than most games i would say. Also, since i saw you are giving hearts from time to time even months after your one and only video, which i'm very impressed by that thats your only video and i'm gonna sub just in case a secomd video ever drops, i assume you read comments as well. So i wanted to ask what your opinion on Totk was after almost a year has gone by since it came out. Despite it's praise everywhere, i personally think it's quite the opposite and your opinion on it would interest me a lot.
Thanks for your comment. Mario Wonder is definitely a step up from recent Nintendo releases. I don't think it's perfect, but genuine effort and some creative and charming ideas in a very stale series is much appreciated. I wish you could equip multiple badges at the same time in the post game, or have a few levels where multiple badges are used. Some of them expand the movement/platforming mechanically, in a way I think the series has always needed. I have quite a few almost finished videos that I never got around to final passing, so I hope to release them at some point. One of them is about TOTK so I apologize for not being more detailed here (I want to be able to fully justify everything with examples), but I am pretty negative about that game. I think the lack of changes to the map and combat, the wasted potential of the underground/sky layers, and the unimaginative structured content around mechanics with insane potential (Ultrahand, fuse, rewind mainly) are the biggest concerns. It also sucks that for a game with some really impressive tech feats (again, the powers), the switch holds it back from not just performing smoothly but also having more happening on screen at once. I think it failed to fix the biggest problem with BOTW, and then added some cool new stuff with its own problems.
@@bossrushgame Wonder surely isn't perfect, no. Just good to see that a series as old as this can change still and more badges than one would have been a welcome addition, since they could have made some more complex/demanding levels with it. For now tho, a good step in a better direction. From what you said about Totk, i would already agree on basically everything of the things you listed, but if a video is in the making, i'm gladly gonna wait for that with more details on why you think so.
I don't get the critisism for Xenoblade DE, there was a literall DLC added to it accecible from that start that's basically a new 20 hr adventure. And the new QoL, Time attack mode updated graphics ect. the price is more worth than other remasters.
My partners niece had that photography Pokémon game, but it didn't have nearly enough locations for that big price. Never bought it for ourselves. Disappointed this is your only vid. Much needed
Man, Nintendo really went from your local Italian restaurant serving some of the best food out there, to a corrupt king, serving raw or rotten food to starving peasants... if they could fork over some gold P.S, fantastic video. It's hard to believe this was a first video coming from a small channel!
On the Wii and Wii U, you could buy (outright) games for Nintendo's legacy consoles. Now you just rent access to them. Nintendo has always had a place in the market because they don't compete with Sony and Microsoft on hardware, they've (historically) focused on making polished, fun games with lower graphical quality. The Switch should be the perfect console to focus on re-releasing older titles (neverwinter nights, baldur's gate, etc) but yet nearly every re-release of a beloved older game has terrible reviews of constant crashes, game-breaking bugs, and poor frame rates out of 15-20 year old titles. Their shop suffers from unbearable lag when scrolling through game lists, and is absolutely full of throwaway titles from shovelware developers. They better smarten up or they're going to lose a lot of customers on the next console release.
Unfortunately Nintendo will probably never fail again because they have too much money to fail and shills will defend anything Nintendo does. Most people instead of fighting back if make excuses for the company like defending tears of the kingdom being 70 dollars because of inflation or defending switch online because they're used to paying for online or don't actually care about it being an issue at all.
Just like in this video, you're mentioning games hardly anyone plays and no one who owns a Switch is anticipating. Hardcore gamers haven't bought a Nintendo product since the SNES and Nintendo is going along just fine with the casual audience. You just need to move on.
I'm about a year late on this video, but I'm glad I found it after watching Nintendo controversies. You hit the nail on the head with how I've been feeling about Nintendo games since Super Mario 3D all stars. I literally looked at that collection of platformers and was like there's literally nothing new other than updated graphics and sound tests. I regret buying Mario Striker's battle charge because literally the entire roster is just the captain's with bland arenas. There is no Nintendo game since the switch has come out. In my opinion, it has come close to being a 10 out of 10, let alone a 7 out of 10, even smashed brothers. I was completely disappointed with the story mode and the laziness and spirits over trophies. Genuinely, I do not buy any Nintendo game now because it feels like I have to spoil myself and watch other people play it and put out gameplay in order to see if I even think it's worth it now, especially with games now hitting $70 for crap and that's on all platforms. But Nintendo has definitely become the company we're so rich. We're so loved. We don't have to try anymore, and people will still buy it. No matter what, they put out Mario Pokémon Kirby smash bros Mario kart. Everybody will drop their wallets in their bank. Because it's the next version, even though that version has not pushed the boundaries. Or come close to being better than the game before it. Nintendo definitely knows they're always gonna make money no matter what they put out, and we, as the people, need to learn to stop buying their games just because we love these characters. The games are not good anymore
Only way to get Nintendo to stop these practices, is to stop buying these products. Send them a message. Why would they go all out on their content if people will buy it at inflated price?
Lazy and incompetent, nah. Hubris and indifference is more like it. Showing crappy third party ports really doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo, besides their subpar hardware choices, but it's a handheld. Every company with shareholders are greedy, because that's the world we live in. They've actually been greedy for way longer than the last 7 years. You make some good points, but there's quite a bit of nitpicking here. Good watch, anyways 👍
@Septer_Sever Youre absolutely correct shareholders ruin every video game it would seem, I’ve noticed for far too long it seems every video game has an issue and these issues only seem to exist because the shareholders pushed out games before they’re finished but I’m not just saying this for newer games too, no they’ve been doing this shit since the nes time period.
Really appreciate it. I agree since the beginning there have been problems, and the recent sports releases feel like another spike. Still a lot to love, especially if they can change some of their bad practices.
Later releases of New Super Mario Bros U on Wii U actually had the Luigi U DLC packaged in by default, meaning that the only new content in the Switch version is the one playable character and nothing else. At least Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze had the excuse of being a genuine good game.
What really makes Nintendo bad are their evangelist followers, no matter what they do, there will always be shockingly many people not only defending it, but buying it multiple times out of spite.
Heck most shills don't even care if contractors are mistreated by Nintendo at all. They defend it constantly because oh they leaked something even though it was confirmed that they didn't leak anything. I'll never understand shills for companies ever.
Have you ever met a Pokemon fan who was happy and praised the game? Fans were content with Leged of Arceus because it shaked up the franchise but we all complained of lot of stuff. The entire industry is like that yet people are blind AF and will complain on the medium they dislike the most while being oblivious with the company they like. People been buying EA sports games years after years when they're basically the same game yet Pokemon get shit on much more even if each new games add more than EA sports games. You guys complained on ports Wii U to Nintendo Switch that didn't add anything/didn't add much yet both Microsoft and Sony did the same from gen 8 to gen 9 console yet they get a free pass? Sony's port on PC and remaster on their own console aren't good either yet people don't complain nearly as much as they do for Nintendo IPs. The Ezio Trilogy didn't improved graphics at all yet it gets a pass while Mario All Star doesn't? The GTA Trilogy is more buggy, even today, than the original games yet people complain more about Nintendo remakes & rerelease because? Ah yeah, people are sucking Rockstars. It's funny to see how gamers are quick to trashtalk about other consoles/mediums yet they won't complain nearly as much for the console/publisher they prefer.
@BananaBlooD9517 there's no free pass, i don't like ea, but this isn't a video on ea. It's like bro, those companies are greedy too, doesn't change that Nintendo is doing the same thing. Also there's a big difference between 3 games from the last generation with all dlc and a resolution bump, and a limited time release on games that are up to like 30 years old having no improvements when fans have been able to do it for decades
@@bossrushgame The Ezio Trilogy and GTA Trilogy are as bad as Super Mario 3D All-Stars. If anything the GTA Trilogy is even worse since it's a port of a downgraded phone port of the original that also happens to have way more bugs to this day than the original games. My grudge isn't about complaining on Nintendo, every company in the industry deserves it. My issue is that Nintendo & it's IPs are hated far more than other companies, especially by non Nintendo fans than any other company. The video points out how Wii U games that were ported to the Switch didn't add much or didn't cost significantly less... But gen 8 to 9 games on Xbox and PlayStation didn't do better yet nobody complained on them. It's pointed out how 3D all-stars is trash, which it is, but it got a bajilion more backlash than the GTA trilogy that is arguably worse since what we got is a port of a phone game... that is a downgraded port of the original game. The only thing I disagree on is your Xenoblade DE criticism. It is a good remaster, the game looks fking great. It also has QoL improvements like casual Mode, expert mode, auto-run, changes in menus, UI and sidequests (this was a pain in the wii game lmao), a new arranged soundtrack and MOST IMPORTANTLY: new content. A DLC with a sidestory about 10-15 h long in a new area with new characters. It's called Future Connected, included in the game. A new game mode: Time attack which adds tons of challenges. Theater mode which lets you replay all cutscenes with different daytime or clothing. Now you can use different style items and stat items. What you wear ingame and what you see your character dressed with is different. This was a pain in the original too, you had to choose between cool or useful items. And many more features I may have missed. You simply haven't played Xenoblade nor Xenoblade DE and that's why you are either lying or simply spreading missinformation. I don't like Nintendo's practices but you are dead wrong with this. Xenoblade Chronicles DE is a masterpiece of a game that everyone should play. I'm sorry if does comes a bit harsh but it's my favourite saga and this is the game that introduced me to in. My favourite game of all time too. Objectively, Xenoblade DE is more like FF7R than it is like Skyward Sword HD. And you called that a bare minimum 🤨 The resolution has nothing to do with it being a good or bad remaster. Seriously, it's one of the prettiest Switch games. You can see it for yourself
Yeah, I really hope this dude has taken the time to play and appreciate all 3 Xenoblade games at this point. Monolith Soft doesn’t mess around. Intelligent Systems also doesn’t mess around with Fire Emblem, but I haven’t played much of that yet just a bit of 3 Houses.
You forgot one final critical blow to Nintendo that permenantely shows how shitty Nintendo is: Their games never go on sale and the Eshop sales are never lower than 25% percent. The fact that Super Mario U Deluxe and Mario Wonder are the same price is just bs. I bought their Kirby and the Forgotten Land remaster at full price and it's like, couldn't I have got another 2D platformer for cheap? Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze is great but Kirby was just decent.
I think you mean Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a completely original game. Also agree to disagree, as I adore Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe.

Of course, sport games don't necessarily need a story, but I found the addition good for fighting games overall, and some soccer games grew famous on nintendo systems thanks to their story modes, most kids play offline or couch co-op unless they own a pc, It's smart to take advantage of that imo.
Nintendo is a corporation - it isn't because of the customers dude. People expect they're getting something great and yeah, if they try to convince themselves something that sucks is better than it is I kinda get it because a lot of the times it's a franchise that they've loved for years and they're going to be a little bit overly charitable to the business that has a bunch of nostalgia attached to it. Nintendo is to blame, full stop. Voting with your dollar doesn't work outside of a massive movement, but the individual that trusts that Nintendo won't serve them garbage is not the problem. Times are tough right now, people have a difficult time putting food on the table - wages have not been as low as they are today since the gilded ages. We are seeing extremely difficult times in the US so people just trying to feel nostalgic is all they really got sometimes. Nintendo is taking advantage of that, it's that simple. Nintendo is entirely the problem. The only way nintendo is going to change is if enough fans actually do an organized and very public boycott - and no that doesn't mean breaking your system or games and filming it like a lot of republicans like to do when they get childishly mad at a company like burning their Nikes and shit. This means publicly boycotting Nintendo publicly and being very vocal about it.
Switch has great games, if you emulate on a PC lol 🏴☠️⚔️🏴☠️😂the ridiculous thing is the Wii U was a great console in comparison, yet less people talked about that one
@@chloeryanvtuber The problem was the design of the hardware, it made it hard for third party developers to make games for it because they had to account for the touchpad and the TV at the same time (whereas the Switch is just either or). I agree though, the Wii U was an incredible console that suffered from its own ambition. The name didnt help either for marketing purposes, potential buyers could've mistook it as a Wii peripheral.
The worst part of mario party superstars is that in about a week i was able to remake DK's jungle temple from mp8 frok scratch. Yeah my remake only has 1 minigame, is unfinished, and unpolished, but I'm a single indie developer with about 4 years of game developlent experience, and i spent the first 3 days trying to figure out how to connect my game to a wii remote.
Xenoblade Chronicles doesn't really feel like it fits in a basket with general 'Nintendo' games. Feels more like it fits with the PS1 JRPG niche genre, same with any Tales series games.
For all the talk of handheld mode, I sure haven't ever seen anyone carrying a Switch around and playing it like I did with 3DS/DS/Gameboy owners. *It's almost like a lot of people don't like the idea of risking their HOME CONSOLE out in public, huh...*
I had 2 regular switches, one new, one used, and both had issues with the SD Card reader within a week each. I also have a Switch lite but its size plus admittedly limited time I could play it outside the home made it not really worth it.
Nintendo fanboys are utterly delusional, and this coming from someone whose first 3 gaming consoles were all from Nintendo. They don't make them like they used to. I don't even care about the quality of the games, it's the cheap and crappy quality hardware that pisses me off. My Wii from 2009 has been through 2 different houses (all around the place), and it's still functioning perfectly, along with my original Wii Remote. The same can't be said for Switch, which can bend and break really easily, and the joycons are cheaply made.
Well Game Freak somehow made an even more rushed and disappointing game now with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Many bugs, horrible framerates on far stuff and so much more. And they have DLC SET UP?!? Why not fix the main game first before adding DLC and the problems that come with it?
Well, to keep the framerate consistent, I'x say that lower frame animation on farther objects is a must. Kirby and the forgotten land does the same, as well as Return to Dreamland Deluxe with its Merry Magoland mode
@@leeartlee915Lol, did you play the original games? Gambling, drug/alcohol references, and over sexualized female character sprites? That's neglecting to mention dark bits like Team Rocket having killed Marowak, or some of the more disturbing Pokedex entries. You'll see a big difference in mood and aesthetics as you move forward in time because of those things.
@@n3rfdr4gon99 Hmmm, I mean I suppose those are fair points. But Pokemon isn’t exactly Duke Nukem or The Last of Us. It’s mainly about catching cute animals in balls and having them challenge each other. I think it’s a stretch to say there’s a dark subtext to the whole series. And besides, I was mainly referring to the game play and what the creators themselves said. Go look it up. They made the series for children, straight up.
@@leeartlee915sure but the games were not big names. Or experted to sell so much. Nintendo the anime and the card games came along and changed everything. Henche yellow version. OG pikachu is not even cute
I worked at Nintendo as a contractor for a year. All I can say is, I've hardly bought any Nintendo products since 2021 and I won't be buying any anytime soon.
Hope you didn't get mistreated as a contractor, some reports in 2022 said that Nintendo hired a firm that mistreated them i know this is an old comment just wanted to mention that.
I love how big the quality difference between a Monolith and Game Freak game is. Xenoblade Chronicles 1 - 3 are absolutely fantastic and running buttersmooth, no in your face bugs and glitches. And on the other side we have Pokemon 😅
I watched the entire thing. I’m kind of amazed this is your first video. It was just randomly recommended to me. I would have had no idea otherwise. It’s much better and more thought out than most peoples 50th video. Insta sub and peace out.
The lack of additional content in rereleases and subpar gameplay/content in newer games are among the reasons I usually wait for sales before buying Nintendo games nowadays. Sometimes I don't even have to wait that long, which feels weird. Like a year or two later I can find these games for $15 - $30. Also I got the loftwing amiibo for $5 a while ago at gamestop. Guess they were having a hard time selling those for full price.
people don't care about that they are getting a worse experience with the switch, majority of switch owners want to believe that switch is the greatest console of all time and they don't care about actual reality or if there are better ways to experience games its just like a religion, they will support nintendo no matter what, no matter the cost
Yep unfortunately or try to excuse it the bad practices i mean. Sony and Microsoft make 70 dollar games. Some people defend it, others hate, then Nintendo does it same thing. The dumb inflation arguement makes no sense for a trillion dollar company. Some gamers nowadays will make excuses for these companies over and over again and it's annoying to deal with sometimes especially the shills. Because there's casual gamers that don't care at all then there just shills who will buy everything without second thought. It's sad honestly.
I really do see the point about the ports right, but comparing xenoblade 1 definitive edition (a from the ground up remake with QoL features, a fantastic new art style, and the future connected story that acted as a sequel using cut content). To FF7 remake (While a fine game in its own right and is very impressive in terms of scale and scope of rebuilding midgar, is also padding incarnate in how it took the first 4 hours of the original and stretched it out with mostly filler) is insane to me. Also talking about bdsp right after as if the 2 are even remotely comparable is damn near insulting.
Came into this thinking "yeah but..." While watching I realized how many times they've done this. You released this a year ago, and I only see the trend continuing.
Okay that Link's awakening take was kinda dumb. 1.Gameboy games (fan favorites at least) and consoles are not cheap. 2. The graphics are so improved that we can't even call them the same game outside of design. It's almost like calling an anime bad bc it just copied and made the manga more appealing
"The same game outside of design". Yeah thats the important part to me, you are buying a good looking Gameboy game for 80$. Any other company would sell this at a reduced price because it's still fundamentally a Gameboy game.
@@bossrushgame It's $60, and it's not like its worth less than that. The dx version for color goes for an average of $40 ish. Also ignoring how solid the content was even compared to the console zelda games at the time. And that's still "just a gameboy game" So we add $20 to have it on a way more convenient platform with full HD Graphics, some extra content and tweaks and suddenly its unfair? The whole argument is biased on how old/what platform the game was on and not the actual game itself, which is what I took issue with.
You may not know this but, graphical improvements are the easiest things to do in modern gaming. Often times many of these gaming companies set pipelines so they do not have to recreate assets. Its why many games may look great, but story, physics, and mechanics can feel off. It is easy to do instance rendering. Nintendo knows that bright colors is a big reason why people play their games "Ohhh look at the pretty colors!!!". Which is why Zelda games will never look like Twilight Princess again. Wind Waker was them experiment with that colorful style. By Skyward Sword, they almost perfected it. It wasn't until Breathe of The Wild that they managed to find the formula. Because consumers are more focused on the pretty colors, they can remove resources for frame rate, polygons, and detail. They are really skilled with color combinations. I am sure that Nintendo work with neurosurgeons, psychologist, and behavior specialist to do neuromarketing .Why do you think most Nintendo games have that plastic colorful look? All of Nintendo's main IP has that exact look. Those assets are easy to render which requires little GPU processing power. Which is why I am shocked that their games cost $60 and up. I long since saw those practices creeping up back during the Wii days. Nintendo adds more useless collectibles and remove depth and detail. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was were they specifically started. Which is why I do not play Nintendo games anymore. Its even worse when they are going after the modding community, emulation, music, and walkthroughs. Nintendo doesn't want to make good games anymore with passion. It just want to manipulate you into playing their games via the latest gimmicks and color schemes. I grew up playing Nintendo games, but I am disappointed at what they have become.
@@bossrushgame Yeah, you get to play that game rebuilt from the ground up looking and playing a million times better. being able to reexperience a classic gameboy game better than ever was certainly worth it to a lot of people. Just not you apparently.
I loved Ninendo for everything they made through my childhood, and I wanted the Switch when it released since the last Nintendo console I owned was N64. But as years passed I heard the feedback concerning the Switch so my enthusiasm faded. But I got the Switch as a gift two years ago and on one hand I was happy but I was also weary what to expect from the games. Your video rounds up all my exact feelings as I tried to grasp how in hell people kept supporting and buying the games in this state and price. I understand nostalgia, I understand fanboyism, but maaan how can you justify 10+ year old games rereleased with minimal effort and with a full tripple A price. And as it seems so many people don't view this and other problems that Nintendo are doing as enough, and just throw money at them. In the past you didn't have much choice, but today there are at least few much better/cheaper options to get the experience you want. All in all you made great takes, but I also think the main blame lies on consumers, If they keep supporting shitty practices nothing will change. Sony and Microsoft learned some hard lessons when they went too far, Nintendo somehow seems to luck out and not get the public slap to wake the f up.
We gave you the DS, a new gameboy, and new games to play on them; and now you say you want a revolution? We’ve got one. -Nintendo programmer, designer, and producer, Satoru Iwata
My brother and I were just talking about this the other day. The sheer number of examples loaded into your video is damning. I've been playing alot of Mario Party since 2020, first in person with family during shutdown. I thought it would be great to play online with my brothers family who lived farther, and was quickly disillusioned by the gimped online mode. You cant play the normal game, just random minigames from a short list. You also can only play 1 person per switch. Like, that's already the stupidest thing. Thats ps2 era online play. So we eventually bought Superstars just for the online play. The disappointing lack of boards and content aside, the online mode is very frustrating. You can finally play the full game, but lag often turns skill based games to random luck. We play high framerate FPS games on Ps4 together with no issue. Minigames that should require the bare minimum of data transmission lag constantly. I was thinking of changing it up and trying Strikers, but havent heard much good about it. It's pretty disheartening for all the potential to sit in the cupboard as we play other consoles.
Is this man really pulling a "spongebob skin theory" on us where he releases an absolute banger, refuses to elaborate, and then leaves? Also sadly BOTW 2 did not overshadow the original, if anything it just made it's faults and the faults of nintendo blatantly obvious.
I’d love a follow up to this video that brings up some of Nintendo’s recent games (Battle League, Wario Ware Move It, and of course, Scarlet and Violet) that addresses why they follow these same patterns.
You didn’t like Wario Ware Move It? I thought that game was a successful sequel, but gave a lot new content while also staying true to the original. While admittedly I have not played the game myself, I saw the game as a very charming and lighthearted experience with simple yet engaging controls. I would also like your take on Battle League, I personally do not understand the hate that goes towards it, mainly because most criticisms are very biased and do not go by the possible reasons as to why changes had to be made. Furthermore, most takes of the game seem to fall under the categories of ‘It’s not as expressive as the original’ or the apparent ‘limited content’ compared to the Wii Counterpart. And what my answer to that is those who complain about the expressiveness of the newer game in comparison to the old one have not remembered how jarring, inappropriate, and out of character the old ones were. For instance, they showed Suicide, visual Crouch Chopping, and odd suggestive gestures. Furthermore, they have Included Grand Prix, Online Mode (Two things the Wii version only had as well.) including obvious new features as well. So I truly do not understand the vast amount of disliking the game has.
@@DwizzledorfDingleberry You just described sanding down any personality the game had. Other criticisms I have seen revolves around special moves, arenas, etc. But cinematics take a game a long way. As much as people constantly whine "graphics don't matter! I don't care about them so long as the game is fun!" It is a lot easier to have fun and feel cool with a game that looks like it.
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 I do not understand what you mean. The graphics of Battle League were extremely high detailed especially for the Nintendo Switch. With detailed clothing, hair, Fur, and Materials, the game is extremely well made in terms of quality and design. And possibly foreshadowed what the newer Mario graphics would look like. (With the exception of Luigi’s Mansion of course.) The special moves are also a huge upgrade compared to the Wii Counterpart in terms of performance. And what I mean by that is the moves seem to correlate with the character a lot better than the ones in the Wii. For instance, Diddy Kong’s Special Move in Wii had nothing to do with Diddy Kong at all, whereas in Battle League it almost perfectly captures Diddy’s personality. Another decent example is Wario’s Special Move, where he apparently sucks up the ball and turns into an oddly bigger version of himself, something that has never happened not even to this day. I am not saying the game is perfect, no game is. But a lot of people seem to allow their biases to take control of their answers and seemingly throwing away a game that possibly took many months/years to make. I do not quite understand how I described ‘Sanding down any personality the game had’, but if I were to infer, did you mean I practically showcased Battle League’s lack of personality? If so, respectively, that negates what I have been saying about them. Their misfit behavior made them seem very out of character. As well as their extremely inappropriate behavior such as attempting suicide that was displayed in an E10+/PG game. So it is quite obvious why they had to turn things down a notch, or else they could’ve potentially lost sales. Unfortunately it seems they couldn’t avoid that outcome though.
@@DwizzledorfDingleberry Seeing these characters in more "wild" scenarios or behavior is the personality I was talking about. Same with the literal cinematics and animations. People say the same things about Animal Crossing, where the villagers now very clearly have little to no identity, and are "collected" only like action figures. Where previous games they could be rude to the player, they could say outlandish things. They had rough edges to them, but now any appeal to the social sim elements are gone. Also, Invader Zim is something 8-year-olds watched. Same with Courage the Cowardly Dog. Same with Avatar the Last Airbender. I am all for tailoring media to suit a demographic. But that conversation is more appropriate as "why are all Nintendo games/properties aside from Animal Crossing focused on killing/fighting?" Or "why do no Nintendo games tell stories? We expect even shows like Courage or books like The Hungry Caterpillar to teach some basic morals to kids, but Mario gets a *complete* exception." Not "there is a little bit of disturbing imagery".
@@haruhirogrimgar6047 I respect your point of view, and see where you are shaping these opinions from, but what you are saying is not only incorrect, but feeds to what I am saying about people having negative biases against certain additions that are not a big deal at all. If you truly believe that Nintendo does not have to make sure that their games are kid-friendly, why do you logically think they changed them then? I want a logical, unbiased answer. I have another question, do you know for a fact that you are correct? What you are saying right now only applies to your, and maybe a few others’ perception of value. What I mean by this is that what you consider “no identity,” that is not a fact, because that relies on what people believe to be true. I also do not believe that Animal crossing is a good example for the point you are trying to make, You have brought up another example of people using negative biases to spread false hatred against Nintendo’s rightful decisions to maintain a kid-friendly narrative. Furthermore, Animal Crossing’s “Rough Edges” was not why their intended audiences bought the games, in fact, I could go as far as to say that it could have made children more lenient to using negative speech since it was used in a game directed at children. And to simply answer that bias, no, it does not give them “no identity.” Each and every personality in the game still remains different compared to the others. Why do you believe that Nintendo, Mario even, gets an exception to these legal restrictions? This conversation is far more important than what you believe that it is. So I wonder, how seriously do you consider legal protection? Do you believe that it is necessary? Why or why not? Before you answer this question, I would like for you to keep in mind that Nintendo has always had the image of being trusted by parents, do you not consider that an exception as well to your beliefs? Thank you for your informative answer.
This video was not only entertaining but actively changed my perspective with constant proof behind every claim unlike most video essays on youtube. i swear 90 percent of video essays are hard to sit through with half baked points with no research and are often just blatantly wrong and ignorant. This video wasnt that at all, liked and subscribed!
While I agree on a lots of points, especialy the ones concerning pokemon, I think some of your points again mario odeesey and BotW are totaly unfair, like "the amount of useless moon don't respect your time" argument is stupid, you clearly come at it with the mentality of a guy that spend multiples hours a day playing games, but Mario Odessey have a massiv casual playerbase, for wich playing 30min a day is already a big time commitment, the way the moons are design allow 2 things, progressing through the game at your pace without being forced to do one thing over another, and second, coming back once you've finish the game for short sessions and still feeling like you're progressing, so no, it's not bad, it's just designed with another type of player in mind, same goes for the shrines in BotW, it's here to allow some sort of progression during short sessions of play. other than that, great video.
That’s exactly how I feel about the gameplay loop of BOTW & Odyssey. I feel like they designed short burst gameplay way better than how levels in Luigi’s Mansion 2 are designed. I hope they fix that in the remake this year.
Those sections felt far more like attributing opinions to objectives than I liked, and don't contribute much to the overall picture aside from "these games bad, Nintendo bad" it's not that they're incomplete or undeserving of their price, they're just games he personally has issues with.
@@lukebytes5366 I think he was upfront those ones were more so just opinions he figured hed throw in at the end. I do think people horribly overrate Botw though.
I was actually pretty underwhelmed with Breath of the Wild because of the shrines. They feel more like tech-demo type of levels that were just thrown into the game. After a while, I just got bored with the game and stopped caring to play. On the flipside, if you look at a game like Zelda Ocarina of Time, that game had a bunch of really cool temples and dungeons with unique themes (e.g. forest, fire, water, rock, etc.)
I'm a Nintendo guy at heart but I ain't afraid to criticize them. They still sell Mario kart 8 deluxe at full price. It's a game that came out in 2014 just with all dlc. Meanwhile there are games like the witcher 3 that came out in 2015 and you can buy a complete edition with all dlc for cheap. Oh and also the next Gen version is free too. Even Sony's games are very good quality and will still drop in price. As good as Zelda botw is I cant understand why Nintendo won't drop the price on a 5 year old game
@@sleepo3615 However, back then not everyone could find a Wii U and there's another reason why Nintendo decided to port those games to the switch. There are a ton of good Wii U games out there and everyone wants to try them out including the new gen fans. @@M64bros it's not only wii u ports. Nintendo never drops the price on their games is what I'm getting at. I can find a mario odyssey copy cheaper yes on ebay or another sellers site but why is Nintendo still selling an almost 6 year old game full price?
@@sleepo3615 I know it's confusing, Also interesting enough back then when Twilight princess HD and wind waker HD were on the Wii U. About Kirby and the Forgotten Land... It's basically my favorite 3D linear platformer. A masterpiece. But it was not developed by Nintendo. It was developed by HAL Laboratory. It is kinda similar to the Pokemon situation. Pokemon is not developed by Nintendo, but everyone associates Pokemon with Nintendo despite Nintendo themself not actually creating the games. Kirby is the same. It's associated with Nintendo for obvious reasons, but Nintendo themself don't actually create those games. Same thing with Luigis Mansion 3. It was made by Next Level Games, not Nintendo. Same thing with Mario + Rabbits. Nintendo didn't develop those games. It was Ubisoft. You can look this up. It is kinda insane how most of the Nintendo games I nowadays consider to be really good are not actually developed by Nintendo. So yes. Obviously those games don't have the usual Nintendo problems we see nowadays despite being Nintendo IPs. They were not made by Nintendo and that's not a coincidence.
And yet the video title is “Nintendo Switch and its games”, so all those excellent games fall under the very banner that the video title implies. Whoops!
Ok, just to clarify. My comment was actually in support of the points made in this video. I 100% agree with everything he said here. That's why I wanted to mention that all the, in my opinion, really good Nintendo games are not actually developed by Nintendo. All the Nintendo games actually developed in-house by Nintendo nowadays are, in my opinion, terrible. Mario Odyssey is a braindead 3D Mario game which fits perfectly in todays TikTok-brained culture. Zelda Breath of the Wild is an extremely empty, repetitive and most importantly: braindead easy baby game. Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is in my opinion really similar. Pikmin 4 is the worst Pikmin game by far. It's again baby easy and fits perfectly in todays TikTok-brained culture. Most of the game is copy/pasted from Pikmin 2 and the atmosphere of the previous games is entirely lost due to the non-stop talking NPCs. I could go on but I think you get the point. My original statement basically was: All the good games on the Switch were not developed by Nintendo or are ports of older Nintendo games. All of the ones I (and the person who created this video...he states his opinion near the end on that topic) consider bad were developed in-house by Nintendo. So to sum up this comment really shortly: Nintendo games AND the Nintendo Switch suck. So...no. It actually wasn't a "Whoops!". He made his points pretty clear and my comment basically just supported what he had to say. Though I do have to say that I would be interested in watching a video about his opinions on, for example, Mario Odyssey. @@emblemblade9245
The new zelda game and watch is another example of Nintendo's flawed philosophy. An underwhelming product that is overpriced, where unpaid fans can make a better version, yet will be punished with a cease and desist if they do. They don't know what fans want and yet attack the Modders who do, instead of learning from them/ giving them opportunities.
2:00 It hasn't just been happening at Nintendo but other consoles aswell. Just look at all the shite we've been accustomed to in the past 5-10 years. This gen you can't even count top 5 games on Xbox/PS . It's sad what has become of the gaming industry as a whole.
Just some thoughts on the vid: My biggest criticism with this whole thing is: if you dont like it, don't buy it. I assume you didn't, but you have to vote with your feet. Separating the wheat from the chaff is something you have to do on every single Nintendo console. I know that you touch on this at the end but with a lot of these games it really seems like you should've taken your own advice. Just a little bit of research could've saved you a lot of ire and money. And my problem with a lot of Nintendo critics is that they are actually their biggest fanboys because they admit to buying every single game Nintendo puts out and talk as if they're contractually obligated to buy Nintendo games. No company bats 100, I'm sorry Nintendo seemed different but they never really have been: Paper Mario had been flailing for years, NSMB was stale as hell, the Wii had games like Mario Sports Mix, Wii Music & Party, Metroid Other M, Pokepark, etc. Pikmin 3 did not make "minor changes to multiplayer." It straight up added a co-op adventure which was a game changer. Mario all stars does not patch out the blj, it's based on the Japanese 1.1 version. Speedrunners weren't going to use this anyway, and the NSO version is the original with the blj anyway. It's clear that 1 2 switch was just one of those games that non-gamers were supposed to buy and enjoy, not sure what you were expecting. I will defend Splatoon 2 and 3 to my grave. These games are examples that the online on the system works and runs great. Barely any frame drops on Splatoon 3. The game receives regular balance patches and even though not all of them hit it's at least very clear that they listen to the community with each one they implement. Pokémon storage subscription happened on the 3ds. I think Larceus is an F tier Pokémon game lmao. Swsh sucked and SV had its heart in the right place, i enjoyed it because i don't really count frames and if a glitch happens i get happy more than anything. Your BotW critique is one i generally agree with, where the rewards dont live up to the anticipation unless it's like a piece of gear or something. But i think revealing the map and combing over the landscape to find these things still feels like enough to me. What's laughable is that you use the "same four tools" argument and claim that usinf them gets old when the entire Zelda series is "here's X item, you use it when Y happens." It's more telling that the entire Zelda series got upended by four items that actually have open-ended use. And claiming that all of the shrines feel the same? Come on man, this video was better than that statement. The reason why BotW gets hype is because it answered the mounting criticism from 2021-2022 about all open world games being the exact same all the way back in 2017. It is still peerless as a concept and was so good that Sony and Microsoft once again just chose not to respond. I don't care what your opinion of Odyssey is, every single moon made me feel clever. The fact that your footage of this section is Mario running around collecting gray moons is also incredibly disingenuous because not only is that the first level, but those moons had to be unlocked by doing some task first. Going back to the Zelda critique, your criticism with the progression comes from you expecting the old progression and not accepting the new one. If you really thought Odyssey was "easy" and "meant for children," i require documentation that you were able to find every single moon the very first time you had an opportunity to get it. Fire Emblem 3 houses is actually one of the best games on the system in terms of content and gameplay, Engage is loved by hardcore fans, haven't played Astral Chain but have heard people sing its praises, Ring Fit Adventure maybe the best fitness game ever made, Pikmin 4 and Mario Wonder came out after this vid, and WW Get it Together is great with plenty of content. Going only according to other people's opinions, the Switch has two of the best Zelda, the best Kirby in years, among the best 3D and 2D Mario, the best Fire Emblem with the other one having a lot of fans, an amazingly fresh multiplayer shooter in Splatoon, the best Metroid in years with Prime 4 coming out at some point, and so on. No other console can claim this kind of comprehensive library except maybe the SNES and even then you'd have to concede that SMW, Super Metroid, and LttP all still hold up (I don't). There's been a lot of mid games on the Switch but every Nintendo console has 1st party shovelware.
Yea idk bro just seemed to gloss over so many games that either redefined their series and took it to new heights. I had a great time with the platform because I chose not to be an idiot with my purchases. Imagine buying Mario Sports games or any of the obvious mega casual shovelware titles like Switch Sports and then getting mad that you got trash. His Odyssey argument genuinely just seems disingenuous and nostalgia blinded as well. I'm also glad most of the Wii U titles came over cause I was done with my Wii U after a year. Such a bad system. The Switch is the only Nintendo platform to keep me interested in it for more than 3 years. No point in playing on a Wii when my 360 was right there and there was no point in playing on my Wii U when my PS4 existed (and eventually my PC). The Switch gave me a reason to come back to it multiple times over it's lifespan. I can't remember a reason to use my Wii post 2009 at all
Don’t forget about the fact that Mario maker 2 desperately struggles to run 2 PLAYER *LOCAL* MULTIPLAYER. Like seriously, I tried playing multi with literally just a guy in the town next to mine and we still got the nastiest lag I’ve ever seen
Listen I'm sorry, but you're pointing out Nintendo of all companies for this? Sony (maybe Xbox? I don't know lol) is already having this quality problems and more
And they're the ones buying out the third-party studios, with many getting shut down shortly after, and releasing "pro" controllers that cost more than double the standard controller
You do know that Nintendo sucking and other companies also having garbage business practices are things that can exist together right? Because that's the state of things. This entire console generation is HORRIBLE.
This was a great video, and you really managed to put into words the way I was feeling about Nintendo for years in a way I never could have! Also, the quality of this video is amazing for your first! Definitely subscribing for more :D
Yeah same. I'd never heard of this guy but I watched the whole hour easily. It just feels refreshing to have some genuine, non-corporate shill videos on nintendo for once. I think Xenoblade definitive has enough of a graphical overhaul, with new models and everything, reorchestrated ost and a sizable new epilogue story that it should’ve been priced at $50 at least. It’s not a full new game though, just a very excellent remaster, so I don’t think it should’ve been full price like Xenoblade 2 or 3.

You mean how the American Auto industry is just as successful as ever? Yep, that's the Switch

Are you going to make another video? The presentation and argumentation you have alone here is quite good.

I wouldn’t say rotten food but they def went from homeade Italian meatballs to processed spaghetti-O meatballs.
You just need to move on.
i came back after the mario strikers game launched and the predictions at the end of the video aged like fine wine
Because you do for everyone else with their MTs and live service games.
Lazy and incompetent, nah. Hubris and indifference is more like it. Showing crappy third party ports really doesn't have anything to do with Nintendo, besides their subpar hardware choices, but it's a handheld.

You compared the worst Nintendo remake to the best ones in the industry, not the other worse ones. How is that fair?

Excellent breakdown. It has definitely been us as fans that have enabled all of these practices, but we can turn things around with our wallets

Yep unfortunately or try to excuse it the bad practices i mean. Sony and Microsoft make 70 dollar games. Some people defend it, others hate, then Nintendo does it same thing. The dumb inflation arguement makes no sense for a trillion dollar company. To FF7 remake (While a fine game in its own right and is very impressive in terms of scale and scope of rebuilding midgar, is also padding incarnate in how it took the first 4 hours of the original and stretched it out with mostly filler) is insane to me.
The whole argument is biased on how old/what platform the game was on and not the actual game itself, which is what I took issue with.
@@IzDevv The 80$ @bossrushgame talking about is in canadian dollars

A take so mind achingly asinine he never made another fucking video again.
Furthermore, most takes of the game seem to fall under the categories of
‘It’s not as expressive as the original’ or the apparent ‘limited content’ compared to the Wii Counterpart.
I don't care about them so long as the game is fun!"
It is a lot easier to have fun and feel cool with a game that looks like it.
(With the exception of Luigi’s Mansion of course.)
The special moves are also a huge upgrade compared to the Wii Counterpart in terms of performance.

"When one Flys so high they will eventually forget the ground beneath them and fall."
-Sone greek guy, probably
I'm a Nintendo guy at heart but I ain't afraid to criticize them. They still sell Mario kart 8 deluxe at full price. It's a game that came out in 2014 just with all dlc. Meanwhile there are games like the witcher 3 that came out in 2015 and you can buy a complete edition with all dlc for cheap. Oh and also the next Gen version is free too. Even Sony's games are very good quality and will still drop in price. As good as Zelda botw is I cant understand why Nintendo won't drop the price on a 5 year old game
You can just buy used games off eBay and it's not that difficult
@@M64bros you completely missed the point
@@sleepo3615 However, back then not everyone could find a Wii U and there's another reason why Nintendo decided to port those games to the switch. There are a ton of good Wii U games out there and everyone wants to try them out including the new gen fans. Also what I'm trying to say is you can still get used games that aren't that expensive and It plays the exact same game you expect. (If you don't get what I mean, then that's fine.)
Those games were high price as well, However, there are events where Nintendo does discounts on the switch and you can get them the games for 30 or 40 bucks if you've heard about it.
It’s a shame you didn’t talk about New Horizons during the section about missing content at launch. That game left me so dissatisfied.
Yeah, new horizons is nice and all but compared to the older games especially new leaf, it felt pretty damn underwhelming
My original statement basically was:
All the good games on the Switch were not developed by Nintendo or are ports of older Nintendo games. All of the ones I (and the person who created this video...he states his opinion near the end on that topic) consider bad were developed in-house by Nintendo.
So to sum up this comment really shortly:
Nintendo games AND the Nintendo Switch suck.
Unfortunately true
2:00 It hasn't just been happening at Nintendo but other consoles aswell. Just look at all the shite we've been accustomed to in the past 5-10 years. This gen you can't even count top 5 games on Xbox/PS . It's sad what has become of the gaming industry as a whole.
Pikmin 4, Kirby, TOTK, Fire Emblem
Just some thoughts on the vid:
My biggest criticism with this whole thing is: if you dont like it, don't buy it.
Not only did 360 have better online, the freaking Wii U did aswell... and that was FREE
None of the big 3 companies are all that great to be honest. That's why I primarily get my games on Steam now.
I love when they talk about Nintendo not having sales on their games while their competitors are nickel and diming them through MTs.
You do know that Nintendo sucking and other companies also having garbage business practices are things that can exist together right? Because that's the state of things. This entire console generation is HORRIBLE.
"Favorite company" has to be a oxymoron
well I mean, even if there is a company you don't like the most, there has to be one you dislike the least
Can we just start calling Nintendo "Japanese Take-Two"?
This was a great video, and you really managed to put into words the way I was feeling about Nintendo for years in a way I never could have! Also, the quality of this video is amazing for your first! Definitely subscribing for more :D
Extremely appreciative of your feedback. Thank you.
Yeah same. I'd never heard of this guy but I watched the whole hour easily. It just feels refreshing to have some genuine, non-corporate shill videos on nintendo for once. It feels like on youtube, you're only allowed to see the "mainstream" channels like 'beatemups', 'arlo', 'switch force', etc... along with the game journalist channels. The ones who always use clickbait, ramble on for over ten mins for the ad $$$, and generally seem very fake.
Hopefully things like youtube vanced, newpipe, freetube, etc... keep increasing, and we eventually get something that replaces modern youtube soon.
people aren't even given retro suggestions anymore and are just bombarded with the switch.and considering how easily the switch breaks apparently, why would people be exicited for the switch now?
splatoon 3 and anything gamefreak is a good example of nintendo's greed and laziness
We already have splatoon on switch why make another one
I think Xenoblade definitive has enough of a graphical overhaul, with new models and everything, reorchestrated ost and a sizable new epilogue story that it should’ve been priced at $50 at least. It’s not a full new game though, just a very excellent remaster, so I don’t think it should’ve been full price like Xenoblade 2 or 3.
