    This tutorial focuses on using the pImageEmitter node in order to create cool logo / image particle dissolve effects. There's a lot of variety in what you're able to do with these tools as long as you have the GPU to render it.

    Hey Chris? Although your tutorial was super easy to follow and I've managed to set up the wanted particle dissolve effect, my feed/video is lagging a lot when I playback the video. It was like that in DR 15 - and I upgraded to DR 16 to be able to do the dissolve effect.
    I have tried to follow "all" the suggestions to improve rendering or whatever it's called but it didn't help. Do you have any idea as to how I can solve my problem? Currently, I'm thinking of going back to DR 15 and do something else than the dissolve effect... Thanks in advance for all your help!

    the sad part about DaVinci Resolve is, that images can only be resize by scaling / zoom (inaccurate measurement) .. we cannot measure the image/Video in pixels, e.g 800px x 600px .. so we must guess the size with zoom tool. so frustrating trying to guess/ calculate an exact size of an image or color box with only scaling it. There is no precision in resizing images or to Overlay PIP or Split Screen Video.. I need accurate size in pixels as mentioned above. is it possible ?

    • @saadshah7857
      @saadshah7857 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. P image emitter, as seen in this tut, is used for creating particles based on a larger image, where the particles act as pixels.
      PEmitter is not the same. Its particles dont form a large image, they act more like traditional particles.
      These particles can be any shapes or even bitmaps

    • @funkylosik

      I faced the same issue. Workaround: in pImageEmitter set the XDensity to expression: if(time > 32,2,0)
      . Set YDensity to use XDensity via expressions. Then in your frame 32 make a keyframe for "Create particles every frame", on frame 33 uncheck it (so that it creates only particles once!). Done, now it starts from keyframe 32.

      What do you mean? I assume they are out of your screen in 3 seconds. Velocity is what makes it move faster/slower. Just lower it down. With lifespan you can set how long are they staying generated and you can override it with a different value.

    • @dgwdgw
      @dgwdgw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You've probably figured out how to do it by now, but for anyone else who stumbles across this:
      My solution was to merge the node feeding into the pImageEmitter into the output image and keyframe the Blend of that Merge so it fades out over a few frames, then merge the pRender output on top of that. I set the Global In/Out of the pRender node so it won't start rendering particles until just before the source image starts to fade, combined with setting the Fade parameter on the pImageEmitter's Style tab so the particles don't just pop in and out instantly from one frame to the next.

      Figured it out. You have to keyframe the velocity in the reverse to 0 values. So choose your velocity direction and all that first, render it, then key frame the beginning and keyframe the velocities back to 0 for the end keyframe. Alternatively just render out your logo like Chris showed, then go to your Edit Timeline out of Fusion, right click the clip, click "Retime Controls", click on the "100%" below the clip, then click on Reverse Segment.
