Yeah, Ahmed Sharif is Emirati. He looks almost exactly like a late Emirati artist named Hassan Sharif (check the photos on the guy's wiki page) so they were probably brothers or cousins. Plus the United Arab Republic had already been dissolved by these days so, had he been Egyptian, he would've competed under the Egyptian flag. (And years later, there WAS an Egyptian dancer that participated in these Disco Dancing Competition. Can't remember which year, tho.)

Hi.it's a studio version by the Ray McVay Orchestra...back then the music union didnt allow record on shows when musicians could do it....
They have to just dance in the intro a little bit and they are judged by that. Then Yugoslavia and Italy had funky moves.
