  • one of the major causes of cavitating may be a bad impeller sleeve. here's my video showing you how to swap your wear ring and alleviate cavitation, among other things such as a lucky 13 cone and a Riva intake grate with a pump seal kit.

Overall great video your description of what you were doing was great and the video was clear and easy to follow. However, I've been a mechanic for over 30 years and the way to torqued the retaining nut is not a good idea. You had about an 18 inch wrench and you weigh around 165-185lbs and then you were bouncing on it. My best guess is, you torqued the nut to around 300-350lbs. A better way would to still put the wrench on the retaining nut and to use a Torque wrench on the end (where you had the breaker bar) to get the correct torque setting of 125lbs. 125lbs isn't that much in comparison the average 1/2 inch wheel stud on a car takes 100lbs and that can be done with a 2ft torque wrench with little effort. And it's never a good idea to bounce while torqueing any type of bolt or nut. If you are worried about it coming loose just us a little bit of red loctite.

You are checking clearance, NOT tolerance.
In terms of measurement, the difference between the maximum and minimum dimensions of permissible errors is called the "tolerance."
Clearance is the distance by which one object clears another or the clear space between them.

Curious to see what gaines you see, if any from the 16.5 pitch. What pitch were you running before? I pitched mine down to 17 on my FX but stopped there thinking there's probably a point of diminishing returns and increased cavitation.

    Hi!
I don't know if you answer questions or not?
But... is it possible to take out and replace a wear ring on a 2019 Yamaha gp1800r SVHO? (Turbo)
    I've been told no.
Or is this what your video is for?
    (Yamaha go1800r svho)
I've heard that you have to by the whole housing.
    Thanks

1st. It's not turbo. When u talk like that to mechanics they know right away they can take advantage of you. These skis are supercharged. And anyone that said that to u is lying. Look up the wear ring for that year and you'll find it. This is your best place to order it from

@@JeTsKi_MiSfItS Hi! You don't know how impressed and glad I am that you responded to me!
I looked up the website you told me about.
      Is this the right part?
RIVA Yamaha 160mm Stainless Steel Wear Ring For SVHO (Replaces OEM # 6ET-51312-00-00)
If so, is there any way to buy just
      "the sleeve"... like other JetSkiis?
      It's so much cheaper.
It doesn't look that way, but I thought I'd ask.
And thank you for informing me about the JetSki being "supercharged"

    • @JeTsKi_MiSfItS
      @JeTsKi_MiSfItS  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@johndeere9650sts no, thats the expensive way of doing it. U can just change the sleeve like I did in this video for much less money. Last time I changed the sleeve it cost me around $150. All u want is just the sleeve which of course would take more labor to change like shown in my video here. If your sleeve is worn past specs & damaged I'm sure your impeller is also. U don't want to take your ski to a dealer for this job. They will likely take advantage of you. A reputable jetski shop can do this for you. What state are u in?

I feel bad for asking, you have gone up and beyond what I ever expected you would do.

That wrench looks to be more than a foot long and I don't want to assume your weight but, you're probably more than 125 pounds. So, by jumping on this wrench it looks like you're over-torquing the impeller.
