possibly the most helpful video I have ever seen, not just because it applies to me but well done and explained without a bunch of extra nonsense. ppl should watch this before trying to make instructional videos on any topic.

This is a must save video for all Yamaha boat owners. I was VERY uncomfortable with performing this task however you made it VERY simple with this video. All thanks to a jammed 20oz pop bottle (find a trash can idiots!) I had to pull my 2017 242 out of the water and perform this at the launch. 20 minutes was all it took for me who has next to zero experience. Sincere THANK YOU!!

I have a 2017 AR210 that I believe has a stick stuck in the impeller. I too am VERY uncomfortable doing this but sounds like it was pretty straightforward?

This is a great video! I had to pay a lot for someone to remove plastic that got stuck (the same) between the impeller and the housing. If this happens again this season, I know exactly what to do myself thanks to you!

I did the procedure today while my Yamaha AR195 is on the Wave Armor Jet Dock, It was very simple task. It is way easier and safer way to get the wrapped rope out of the propeller shaft. The 2018 AR195 has a keel with a small channel guide mounted on the keel casing. You have option of taking one additional 17 mm bolt out of the channel guide or just slide the channel guide out of the keel when removing the propeller housing. I also greased the gear at the end of shaft with marine grade anti-seize high temperature grease. Thank you Stokley's Marine. A simple and clear instruction like this is what us weekend worrier needed.

Thank you for making this video! I as a newer jetboat owner had the pleasure of a tow line getting caught up in the spindle. Fortunate it didn't tangle around the impeller. Followed this video step by step and it literally took me 20 minutes from start to finish!
Cleared rope. Assembled everything back together - and hopefully, everything runs well today on lake. Did d test run with a water hose and everything is turning perfectly.
This just saved me so much time and money & I also learned something!
    THANK YOU>

CAUTION- video is great and spot on but be very careful tightening the reverse gate screws at the end. It is very easy to break the end of the threaded reverse gate cable if you torque down the screws very much. I did and I had to fix. Luckily I was able to use a 10-32 coupler nut 3/4 inch stainless steel to put the pieces together. I saw multiple other posts about folks breaking reverse gate cable at threads so I was not the only guy to overtighten a little when putting back together. Otherwise thanks for a great video.

Excellent video. So well done. This happened to me on my first test drive. I removed mine gently from the intake grate under the boat, but it is so confidence inspiring to see how easy this is in case I have to do it this way. Bravo!

Thank you so much for the video. I had a small chunk of wood (size of a quarter) wedged between impeller blade and wall of housing. Was going to take to a marina, but after watching this video I removed it myself, took about 15 minutes from start to finish with zero experience. Really appreciate the information and guidance, as I'm sure this will happen again (AR240).

I am SO grateful to you. I had the exact same problem and your demonstration gave me the confidence to make the repair myself. It definitely took me longer than your man's 15 minutes, but there were no surprises. The obstruction I removed was remarkably similar to the one in your video. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge. If I didn't live in Atlanta I would be your customer for sure. I do appreciate you!

Thank you Sam F. for calling and sharing how our video helped save your boating trip! Sam was boating in TN and got a stick stuck in the jet pump of his Yamaha boat. By watching this video he was able to remove the obstruction on his own and continue his boating without having to come back to KY! We are so glad we could help you easily solve your problem and continue enjoying your time on the water!

Thanks for the video - very helpful. You know your boats. 2 questions: Am I generally better off going through small debris on plane speed of at trolling speed? And when I do get a stick in the impeller, is it OK to run the engine until the blockage is shredded? I've done this twice already on a boat with less that 20 hours. And BTW - after seeing your video and the comments I'm signed up with Boat US, unlimited towing.

    • @StokleysMarineNicholasville

hanGun61 Only thru the clean out under the rear swim deck storage with removing the Cleanout plug. Sometimes you can run the engine in reverse and dislodge an object.

So I just had a whole new engine put in my 2013 AR-190 and after getting it back and spending over $10,000 for a new engine, and jet pump we put it in the water and it doesn't steer responsive at all. I literally have to make a huge loop just to turn left or right. I can be cruising at 35 and have the wheel cranked to the left and the boat still goes straight. Any suggestions?

Great video. I pulled out a stick from the clean-out port on my 2017 AR210 (it was loose) but now that engine runs 300 RPM slower than the other. Think I may need to do this to make sure I got it all out. Anything special to consider on a 2017 AR210? TIA!

Hi. I have a 2009 ar230 ho and I sucked up some mud and my engine is hard to start now. It doesn’t idle great and vibrates. I pulled it apart and checked impeller and nothing. Once I get it running and get the Rpms up for a while then it does fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The other motor still starts like new.

Great video! I noticed someone had used RTV or Silicone between the jet pump and hull and between the jet pump and housing in my LX210. Is this necessary or recommended? It is starting to peel out so I was thinking of pulling them and resealing and I came across this video and noticed none was applied here.

My Yamaha AR 210 was running at 7500 rpm when it seemed to lock up. My oil is clean no metal or fragments. Is it possible a stick could have stalled the engine? It will not turn over at all.

    • @StokleysMarineNicholasville
      @StokleysMarineNicholasville  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes. Check your jet pump. Also if it won’t turn over pull out your spark plugs and try to turnover. If it does, then you could have water in your engine/gas. But try jet pump 1st.

This is one of the many reasons I'm getting RID of my 70K Jet Boat. Sitting on a lift and trying to do this for a stupid piece of wood, I can no longer see myself going through this stupid, pathetic procedure because of poorly engineered boat.
