You can use it any way you like, even as eight individual synthesizers and or drum machines, sequenced entirely by your existing sequencers (for example) it's really versatile. 👍 The Virus is AWESOME, but it can't sample and it's not a drum machine.... ;)
I'm going to buy it but I'm worried about the fact that the filter doesn't affect some presets too much, were you able to observe it in depth? It is possible that they do not affect the samples either? Thank you for your video, very illustrative.

"How to get a 16-bar crash/riser on the MC-707" - This was the second livestream of yours that I watched. The first was the deep dive/tutorial you did that described how you created your ClownFest 5 set. In that video, you talked about how you wanted to use a 16 bar sequence with a crash and riser, but couldn't do that with most hardware gear (except the Elektron Octatrack or something). You can do this on the MC-707 by using one track (say 8) and set it to "clip" (shift-sel under General tab - set Sound Source = Clip... let's call this clip 1), then set the clip to 8-bars with your crash sequenced at the beginning of course. Next you would create another clip (we'll call it clip 2), set it to 8-bars and put your riser wherever on the 8th bar it needs to be. Then go back to clip 1, highlight it the window and select "Settings" on the track menu in the window. Under the SEQ tab, scroll down near the bottom and you'll see a "Next Clip" selection and set it to Clip 2. Go to clip 2 and set the same next clip setting to Clip 1. Now you have a repeating 16-bar sequence that starts with your crash and ends with your riser before it repeats all over again. Also, since Track 8 is set to "Clip" you could copy and past this 2 clip set and change things up over time and record motion changes or whatever to make the crash/riser change however you might want it to through different Scenes if you wanted to. Very powerful!
THANKS for this info!! ❤️❤️ I trigger all the clips on a row as a "scene". If I have the crash/riser spread across 2 rows, and switch to play the full 2nd row of clips, now i'm starting the crash/riser sequence in the middle though and we're off by 8 bars?
@@ElectronisoundsAudio It would IF you include the clips with your crash/riser in the scene (forcing yourself to use the whole line of tracks from 1 to 8 in the row). You don't HAVE to include the whole row of clips in a scene, or even a row at all (use clips from all over the grid if you want". Maybe try leaving out Track 8 from your scene or just leave out the clips you need for the crash / riser until you want to change things. There are lots of options and as of this week, the scene options have been updated with the 1.71 MC-707 firmware update. Lots of options to make things work the way you need them to.

Hi, at the end of this stream you were mentioning a video output (via USB, there are no HDMI ports on the MC-707), but I don't see that happening because it doesn't have a Thunderbolt-3 controller onboard like a Macbook Pro does. Basically on that Macbook Pro, there is indeed a USB-c PORT that does connect to the MC-707 (USB-b), but that's just the port/form factor of that connector. Cool idea, but I don't think Roland could upgrade the firmware to support external video out on that USB port ! ;-)
