Just visited their workshop a few days ago. There’s no question they are up to something special there. I visited the main workshops in London and the shoes Canons is making really stand out. Great team and a very nice approach to shoemaking. Congrats on the new pair!
You are not the only one that enjoys the smell of a new pair of shoes! My wife thinks it is odd, but there is nothing like the smell of an exceptional pair of beautifully crafted shoes!!
Fosters on Jermyn Street…..legends. They have used old Foster samples on their webpage. Just heart stoppingly delicious……Their punched cap oxford last was a shape to die for…..🇬🇧
Yes. It's a real shame that Fosters closed during the pandemic. Sad to see a 180 old Heritage Company close. But, thankfully, their legacy is being resurrected by the team at Canons. In many ways, they are taking the company back to their bespoke shoemaking roots by only focusing on that. Canons has the entire archive of lasts and samples.
I’m a 30 year old male that never wears suits and dress shoes I’m always in my Amiri jeans and my Nike dunks and either a black or white T-shirt and fitted caps for the most part with that said I love all Kirby’s videos he has made me want to get a well fitted suit nice dress shoes and buy and try a nice cigar for the first time I’ve learnt so much from Kirby so I know what a suit should look like and fit my body so I’m not wasting money and start my endeavour “proper” as Kirby always says thanks so much Kirby for all the people like me you have inspired to dress better and to be a true gentleman.
Another former Fosters stalwart is Emiko Matsuda, who started working on her own a few years ago, carrying on the Fosters heritage. She worked with the legendary lastmaker Terry Moore for years and now all set to travel to NYC.♥
Most shoes that are elegant are uncomfortable because their sole is hard . I like the Rockport shoes because they're really comfortable and the sole of the shoes is soft !!!
I was about 12, my dad sat me down and taught me how to shine my school shoes. Cherry blossom black polish..funny the things you remember in life. A year later he taught me how to tie a half Windsor knot. It has to be said Kirby, your tie is always symmetrical and pinched, just how my dad taught me.
shitttt.this got me stoked for mine! got my bespokes coming from Pakistan for my 40th! i find turkey and places like this have much higher quality leathers for much more affordable prices with 0 loss of effort in the shoe crafting its self :)
These are really traditional, a nice Brogue. I find a lot of shoemakers don't provide a substantial enough heel. I wear Tom Ford Gianni last and that model has a substantial heel and sole. I find if you have the opportunity to purchase a TF dress shoe you'll enjoy the design/feel. Not bespoke price, but great style/performance all the same.
They are ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! You’re a lucky man kirby, any update with the shoes Daniel wegan was making for you ? I look foward to seeing them finished
I cannot overstate how excited I was to receive these. My old Fosters were amongst my most comfortable and I always secretly yearned for a second pair.
Dont ask that question. This company dont even show any prices on their website. I looked it up. We can be certain that those kind of shoes are to expensive for us, the mortal once.
I think it's worth mentioning that Foster and Son closed the Jermyn Street store but the business is still in operation at a different location in London. I don't know the full story and didn't realise the collection of lasts and samples had been separated from the company. I also must say it's somewhat odd to talk about the "baggage" of being an old company. Since when has this channel seen a long trading history as being in some way negative? Especially when it's about the continuity of quality, craftsmanship and tradition. In fact, by the sound of it, Canons is piggybacking on that long provenance.
Kirby is the old foster and sons instagram still active? I see multiple accounts with similar names, but which one was the original? I would like to look at their past work. Thank you.
I'm not totally sure. I can't imagine it still being active because the company is now defunct. But my understanding is that the Japanese creditors own the trademarks, so it is possible that they are just sitting on the dormant account.
I went to a nice steak restaurant recently. The two males nearest wore sweatpants, a long sleeve T-shirt and trainers! One was wearing a baseball cap! People do not understand that clothing is a reflection of the decline in Western Democracy. (No I am not joking).

This is as close to perfection you can get. What quality craftmanship ❤
I have to say... the finish on these shoes is next level. Incredible work.
These gorgeous shoes are exactly my taste. Really unbelievably beautiful shoes. Wear them in good health.
Exceptional aren't they!

What an absolutely stunning pair of shoes anyone would be proud to have them in their collection 👏🏻
Even better in person.
First glance and you can tell it’s exceptionally well made! The colour seems to be versatile for matching up.
It is beautiful to see how a person amplifies his bespoke shoe collection.

Absolutly stunning
The presentation is amazing before you even see the shoes 👟👟
I know. Every detail meticulously looked after. This is the hallmark of true craftsmanship.

THOSE ARE SOME BEAUTIFUL SHOES 👞
I never normally wear oxfords as I almost exclusively wear loafers with suits, but those are really lovely. I might have to get a pair…
As a 18 year old girl even I want these 🤣

Brooks Brother tie? Don’t recall Kirby wearing anything outside of his own brand. Looks great
An extremely handsome pair of shoes, a bit smarter than my converse trainers
Just a bit...

I smell my new shoes as well. It's like a new car with leather seats!
I’m gonna say something that I don’t take lightly. I like those.
Beautiful shoes! Random question - which suit is that you’re wearing?
Really stunning shoes.
I absolutely love them.
...... Are the lasts, made of Beech ?
Beautiful
They are still in London, just a bit further North near Islington.
How much the price?
That's an exceptional color. What color of Saphir Medaille D'Or would you use, dark brown?
Yes, I'd probably use dark brown.
Mr. Allison, would you make a video on Tod's gommino driving shoes, while driving and smoking cigars? Thatd be a fun sunday drive/review video
What is the starting price to commission a pair of this marvelous piece

Kirby, have a visit to Central European shoemakers. They're hidden gems.

They avoided the high rents, Kirby knows his shit, kinda.
God damn those are sharp@
what is the price of this shoes ???
Are you back over here in England 🏴 again soon Kirby ? .

They should of kept the name Fosters if possible.
