This has to be the truest real world test to slug design, and functionality, to where its needs to be expressed. This is without question the best real world examples of true slug performance in an airgun that I have ever seen. I love my .35 texan LSS version of this rifle. Full pass through shoulder shots at 30 yards on medium sized Hogs with the 178 grain boat tail hollow point bullets from Nielsen Supply. But the issue I'm having is scant blood trails. And I hate spending all day tracking so I stick to head shots. I'm guessing this caliber probably takes care of that?

Not sure why it would? Lead slugs are actually illegal in California so there will need to be lead substitutes used in that State. Copper isn't touching the rifling in this set up so it is just sabot material coming in contact with the lands and grooves. Plus these Texans use LW hardened steel barrels and copper isn't going to hurt it anyway.

Hmmm... I'd like to see that video. I have done extensive testing with .357 and .510 cal beyond 1000 yards and there is no consistency shooting stock Texans. I have found they can hold accuracy out to about 700 yards.

For target practice and plinking, probably not. But for hunting, hell yes. You want to hit what you're aiming at, and you want it to go DOWN. If that means spending a bit more to get a humane kill, I'll do it.
It is a Deer hunting set up and is much more like muzzle loading or single shot rifle hunting. With that said, I can reload by hand pretty darn quick with this thing. I should do a video on that to demonstrate as people have this issue and mention it a lot.

This is the air gun I'll buy when I want to kill a watermelon! Nice, hard to believe the power of todays air guns, I started shooting bb's and pellets in 1970 which were very low power and now air rifles compete with rifles shooting bullets.
I'm kinda surprised all of these professional airguns are so weak. I made one years ago that would shoot .45 about 1900 fps. I found it funny that it was over twice as fast as a powder shot. It was pretty ugly and unwieldy to lug around, but accurate to at least 500 yards when I finally got it sighted in.
with AEA blowing everybody out of the water i just noticed i don't see anything on texans anymore. i think AEA pretty much has everyone scrambling as no one seems capable of competing with their offerings - incredible, powerful .45, 50 with MAGS! producing asskicking 6-10 shot strings with a beautiful stock compared to a bolt action that is essentially a barrel glued to an air tank with a trigger. no much comparison.

Be careful running sabots through a suppressor. The sabot can open early and get trapped by the baffles.
