I just got unlucky and had one vagina, but a double uterus with one side that was closed off so I didn’t know anything was wrong until it was REALLY WRONG.
This would be great to explain to Kids, including boys, how menstruation works. Especially considering that schools separate Boys n girls for 'health and sex education, and dont explain to Boys how a female body works.... So they grow up not understanding women, treating them like they are faking feeling ill, or that women can choose when to bleed and 'hold it in'

As a man in my 30's, this was both entertaining and informative. But I swear, I would've never watched if it wasn't for Simone and an "anatomically adjacent" machine. This should be used as the gold standard for explaining this. Great job!
The fact that my uterus has an agenda the direct opposite of my own makes it hard to like any part of it. The rest of my organs at least work for a good cause.

I love this. I am saving this to use as a teaching tool for when my kids come of age. As a woman who didn't learn how the menstrual cycle really worked until I was an adult tying to actually have kids, I appreciate the movement to make talking about this not feel embarrassing, gross or weird. I guess we have a different interpretation of what the logo is trying to refer to. And the product certainly isn't relevant for all women, but if you remove the logo it'd still be in a dedicated female hygiene aisle at the supermarket for the sake of convenience, among a whole store of products you don't need either. Is it all that different from me having to skip on a box of hair dye because I barely have any hair left? It just doesn't strike me as a particularly fruitful battlefield for anyone.
I just showed this to my 7 year old who has been asking what periods are. This was such a great way to explain it to him so that he was actually interested and not just grossed out! lol

I’m obviously compassionate and my wife bought me supplies to keep on hand that a young lady might need (I am a teacher in The Bronx, NY so it’s quite possible they might not always have access to what they need all the time), I can speak theoretically about what is happening to them if they have questions but they don’t want to hear from a 39 year old dude so I now have saved your videos with Kotex and will share if my students ever have further questions!!! Nice to see an engineering kind of vibe for explaining this topic. I don't think this is as an angle that has been pursued a lot for this topic. And we all learn differently. I think this kept the "human" aspect and a good sense of humor, while focusing on what technically is going on. Some people will prefer this information in this form over any other way. Whatever helps the most people learn is great, in my book. And as a benefit from this approach, the info here is very clear. I would say no-nonsense, which it is in the colloquial sense, but there is actually just the right amount of "good nonsense" as well to keep it lighthearted. Thanks!
I'm a man and I knew a lot of this information however what clicked with me was the idea that your WHOLE BODY is going through a crazy chemical change and if you're trying to figure out other mental health disorders it can be convoluted by the fact that your body is trying to make a freaking baby every month... gosh.... so strong.

I was a curious kid, raised by my mom, a teacher, so periods were never a full scary mystery to me, additionally I've always tried to talk to the females in my life about periods to better understand what they have to deal with, so I felt like I had a decent grasp on the concept... but this... this REALLY made me actually understand the mechanics of it so much more than I ever have. Thank you so much to Simone and all involved.
Also something that doesn't get talked about is the "abnormalities" like how if one tube or ovary is compromised the other can reach around and grab the egg. Or how you can release an egg without having a prepared uterus, or how even if you don't have periods, either from PCOS or HRT that egg still wants to hang out sometimes and can get re absorbed by the uterus (and why its important to use birth control even if your periods stopped to prevent unprepared pregnancy, both unprepared in your external and internal life

I had incredibly heavy and debilitatingly painful periods growing up, and the only thing a gyno ever did was prescribe naproxen, which is Aleve. Anyone who menstruates, if you’re reading this and have serious life interrupting pain, or bleed for more than seven days regularly, that is not normal and you deserve a doctor who will help you find a solution, or at least a reason. It may be endometriosis or PCOS, or it may seem totally weird and unrelated! I had undiagnosed celiacs, and didn’t figure it out till I was 25. I stopped eating gluten and suddenly I could have a period with just a couple days of cramps, which lasted six days. Instead of a solid week of curl up can’t move pain and extremely heavy flow. I’m not saying everyone with dysmenorrhea has a food intolerance or autoimmune disease like me! But bodies are complicated and menstruation shouldn’t put your life on hold every time it happens.

I feel bad for those with very strong period symptoms, especially those suffering from fibromyalgia. I feel super lucky that I’m just a bit moody and bloated when I hear my friends say they feel stabbing pains, nausea, and other discomfort!
I simultaneously feel proud, intrigued, and very nauseated by something that happened last month. I passed a type of “cast,” which means the lining shed in the exact shape of my anatomy to stay together. It was absolutely horrifying and disgusting, but the Internet comforted me by letting me know what the sac was and that despite doctors not knowing why it happens, it’s totally normal in a healthy way. Like 1/3 of women have experienced it. Thank god.

Apparently other products are no good because lions smell the blood and come into the villages. The model I made was 3D printed and used to show the girls and women how to use it because most of them don't know how to read.
