Videodrome depicts a shadow war between two secret societies, sort of a hegelian dialectic going on between 2 mafias. You find out that the girl was a hallucination the whole time which means from the first scene when the main character laid eyes on Videodrome he was already hallucinating, meaning he was hallucinating Brian Oblivion and the girl on the TV talk show (and that he was on a TV show in general). Think about it, he glanced at Videodrome and the next scene he is on television talking to a talking television.
@@j.b.8546 I think watching any movie is bad for you. And when I was younger existenz gave me a very unsettling feeling. Cronenberg is a satanic jew, The Fly is about Beelzebub the Lord of the Flies. These films are demonic, and you're like "w0aw!! my favorite film!" And they are profound in a sense and very serious and even meaningful, but ultimately it's not healthy and I would not recommend watching Videodrome to anyone. I regretted watching it.
Videodrome is unbelieveable. "Death to Videodrome, long live the new flesh" is like a thematic slam-dunk, ingenius writing.
The television screen is the retina of the minds eye
