As an older dude I don't care anymore about day 1 for 99% of titles. Having Sony games on PC has been fantastic. The only console I need to own anymore is whatever Nintendo comes out with.
Is Sony really in a weird place with their hardware? The PS5 Pro is only meant for a small percentage of the overall audience. They aren’t losing when someone decides to stick with their vanilla PS5.
NINTENDO has been so successful with the Switch that I believe they will go with the "if it's not broken don't fix" approach. Perhaps a more powerful, enhanced system.
All Color Rainbow 🌈 in Theme And Kirby
Kids console with kids game
All I want is a more powerful switch and better joycons
I think I’ll be skipping the next Switch. I barely use mine.
Switch is a scam
No interest in a pro when my PS5 works just fine. I am interested, however, in the next Nintendo console. Since that will be a new product and will last more than 4 years, if you go by how long the Switch has been out for.
Being rhetorical here. Given that the “base” PS5 has lost steam in terms of sales and some of the games haven’t been commercial and/or critical successes, why release PS5 Pro? The “base” PS5 isn’t even five years old. The asking price for the Pro is too steep. Not every household has an 8K TV (or even a 4K). The PS5 lineup, as it stands, is very underwhelming. Nothing’s popping out to me as a game I must have in my collection. And besides, if the PS5 Pro’s purpose is to increase performance of PS4 games, I would rather keep my PS4 until it finally dies.
Because they can, and people will buy it.
If might not be something you'd consider but I'll probably pick one up since I'm handing down the OG PS5.
You lost me at "PS5 has lost steam in terms of sales and some games haven't been commercial and /or critical sucesses." This just seems like a very odd take considering that there is only one platform where you can play every game in the top 20 best sellers of 2024, the favorite for Game of the Year is a certain little white and blue mascot and the second highest critically scored runner up is also exclusive to PS.
The most interesting thing the PS5 Pro video revealed was the fact 75% of PS5 users chose performance mode. This should get the message across to game devs who seem obsessed with visuals and think it’s fine having 30fps performance. We don’t want that. Make the game actually run well.
I suspect that's because everyone has a 60hz screen but not everyone has a 4K screen. Either way I always click performance mode
Completely uninterested in the pro console seems pointless to pay all that cash for a slight improvement. I’m still interested to see what the Switch 2 and Xbox Series 2 have to offer though.
I wonder if we could see a cyclical repetition of history of when Sony had major success with the PS2, got too big for their britches, released the PS3 for a whopping $600 and Xbox had a major come up with the 360 because of that
PS6 doesn't surprise me, R&D of a new system usually follows soon after the release of the current one. It takes at least 5 years to design the framework for hard/software/OS, stress test several hundred test mules (this step X360 cut short), setup supplier logistics, coordinate with retailers, etc.
I can see jacking up the price for an optional "Pro" model, but it is going to feel like Sony is holding your library hostage when they start hiking the price for the PS6. I got out of the PS ecosystem at the very start of the PS4 generation, but I might buy a PS6/XBOXWHATEVER if they let me play my Steam library in my living room cheaper than a decent model SteamDeck w/dock.
As for Nintendo's next console, I like my Switch but I've never cared about its portable features. It has always just been a box to play Nintendo games. That said, Nintendo's Switch games were good but there were no classics (For me, at least. I know there are plenty of people whose favorite game is a Switch game.) and their record of getting older games available on Switch was spotty (I don't care for subscription services and plenty of worthy games never got remasters). So it's really going to depend on the package that they announce.
I hope Nintendo will push past the PS5 and the Xbox in terms of graphical fidelity and performance and not just make something that’s on par.
Be lucky to get PS4 power.
are you serious or is this that ironic forum humor
If you think the portable switch 2 is somehow going to 'push past' the performance of the PS5 and XSX you are dreaming
Everyone's copying the Switch, so it obviously a great system. It really just needs an performance upgrade with a better screen.
No one is copying a switch bud 😂
@@akuma_mx5 Steamdeck? PS Portal?
Never got a switch. If switch 2 is back compat, perhaps I’ll take a peek at some point 👀
The Switch 2 will be more powerful and have better battery life. That's honestly all it needs in my opinion
If it’s more powerful, the battery life will be much worse… 😔
The Steamdeck/portable pc argument is wierd to me since they are niche products. How much have all of these sold combined? Less than the Wii U?
Barely a blip on the unit-sales charts. 1.6mil in its first year, with no actual stats released since. The biggest market for portable PCs is in East Asia, and depending on the country, those folks have other options (Playstations are even sold in China now). Switch (143mil) is on-track to potentially beat the DS at #1 in lifetime unit sales for handhelds (154mil).
Even if it doesn't beat the DS, it's still far, far beyond what any of the portable-PCs or off-brand consoles have ever, or could ever do.
Hilarious because PS5 barely has any exclusives lol. There's only around 12-15 completely Porter PS5 games?
Will pre-order Pro the moment it's available
Series X 2tb 600$, not mentioned!
My brother was the Playstation fan, he jumped ship to PC after the PS4 and hasn't looked back. I've been a Nintendo gal throughout, although didn't pick up a Switch until the pandemic. Better graphics aren't enough of a sell for Nintendo games, and certainly won't move the inflation-weighted needle with families and the folks who use their handheld as a supplemental console.
They've said it'll be backwards compatible, so likely motion controls, touchscreen, and docking are all staying. All I could see them doing is increasing the screen size (or shrinking the bezel), making it more battery-efficient, and maybe adding one Cool New Aspect. But the price has to stay in that $300-$399 range, or no one's gonna upgrade.
To me it really feels like we are going to have a video game industry crash soon. Over price consoles and pc hardware during a time when the world is facing a cost of living crisis. Gotham knights, Concord, Halo Infinite, Battlefield 5, Suicide squad and many more all failed trying to be a live service game costing millions. It feels like there is going to be crash or the industry needs to move in a new direction. Or I could be totally wrong and it will just keep producing lack luster games at premium and enough people will buy for it just to keep going
If the ps5 pro sounds like a jet I will never get a pro again
Another nice video but I miss Gamespot's "The Lobby" style game conversations...
Lucy❤
Same
Why is FPS Lucy on here? 😂
that girl is so cute
I'll buy a PS5 Pro if only Lucy was included in the bundle
U next level bro gimme some of that rizz
Nintendo don't need to compete with Deck or Roger.. they just need to sue for patent infringement
As a series x owner I feel like I've won. I'm not regretting my purchase. I don't feel like I'd have to upgrade right away next gen. But I also know xbox won't try to upcharge me know a mid gen or next gen. They will always try to sell me something worth the money.
I wouldnt even be surprised if I get xboxs lower tier console next gen if I feel like ps5 and next gen normal xbox is too much.
Switch 2 gimmick, not costing $700.
All the Switch 2 needs is 60fps+ and vrr support, then i'm in.
Every console can run games at 60fps
@@Luke973T not the switch. Some games are even locked at 24fps
@robotninja530 the switch can't run games at 60 fps? I must have a switch pro and didn't know it.
The PS5 Pro is a joke...
Loving the vibe…
It's not uncommon for Nintendo to release iterative improvements for their handheld consoles. People say they always change it up alot of their stuff but they really only mean the TV consoles.
After PS5 Pro Sony's BIGGEST Mistake ever because it's a console that cost 799€ and dosen't have a disc drive is the worst and i'm sure that Xboz is making a digital console too so Nintendo NEEDS to save us with the Switch 2 that we haven't been that near abour it's reveal before we really live EXCITING times in the consoles history: consoles and physical games are not dying! ❤💙💚
Sonic the hedgehog I'm here first I really am the fastest thing alive
can you guys reach out to Bioware and please ask them to add more scars and purple lights in the game? it's not enough
If i can, i will preorder the 30th anniversary bundle, that just looks great
Steam deck is better than all of those
All Color Rainbow 🌈 in Theme And Kirby
135th first
3rd😂
well to be fair Console, in concept are just limited PCs so the whole market is a scam catered to the poor who cant afford $1000 for a PC, but meh in 2 years the PS9 will be $999.99 so 🙄
'poor'.
This is the dumbest take and is genuinely embarrassing.
Yeah I definitely have my gaming setup with consoles and a $2000 OLED TV because I'm poor. If only I could afford a PC :(
