windows 8s theme is programmed like that and its also a core component for windows to run so you cant change that same with the logon screen its programmed and made differently thats why you cant replace it like windows 7

I used a taskbar skin for classic shell and added a 15 pixel show desktop button that is close enough to the real one in my opinion. It works best with a 1920x1080 screen resolution
Microsoft has now changed the way how windows theme are working now, suddenly dwm.exe was also eddited so much and it holds more than half of the operating system UI (even cursor won't be displayed without dwm in windows 11 for example where in windows 7 it simply disables aero theme) and in a simple words windows 10 and windows 8.1 are two opposite windows now...
if you want to use the windows 7 basic theme just kill dwm :) all modern or metro ui related apps and stuff including the start screen wont work until you start dwm again so uh heres your warning im surprised that more of the windows visuals and shit now depends on dwm while windows vista and 7 only needed it for aero
I installed Windows 8.1 on my good old PC and it's just turned my PC back into a beast! Insane performance! It was on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit when it came, and then I updated it to Windows 10 32 bit, and after that to Windows 10 64 bit through clean install, and when performance became worse day by day, I changed to Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on 2020 (that was the BIGGEST mistake lol) and had bushels of problems like GPU driver signature, etc. And after HEAVY lagging, frustrations and pains, Windows 7 updated to it's latest version and it was at least usable after that. Hence, I saw TrigrZolt's video on comparing 5 Windows versions, in which Windows 8.1 won. i was astounded, as Windows 8 was hated by my cousin brothers a couple years ago, and I thought Windows 8.1 must be no different. I was WAY TOTALLY WRONG. Installed Windows 8.1 two weeks ago, and got great performance. Snappiest experience possible, lowest boot time. And with a good combo of Windows 7 transitions and Windows 10 Metro theme. Had ABSOLUTELY no issues. No Telemetry, forceful creation of Microsoft Account, preinstalled bloatware and Cortana crap.
The icon in the sidebar of Windows Explorer is different because it's a different icon alltogether. You have to replace that icon in the Drive Icon tab.
If you have your Windows 8.x activated, you should download a Windows 7 logon wallpaper, then browse for the Windows 7 logon screen, change to Windows 7 logon screen, then it looks even more like Windows 7.
You must have a beasty machine to have 12.1GB of RAM in the VM lol! I want to install Windows 8.1 in Virtualbox but when I turn on Intel Virtualization all my other virtual machines don't work! What am I meant to do to make them work? I should mention I get a Hyper V related error with them.

Not really worth going to win 8.1 after 2020, since newer software only support windows 7 and windows 10, better off just sticking with windows 7 after 2020. But anyway great video.
For me, it's almost a protest. I'm going to 8.1 simply so I can postpone going to 10. Maybe in three more years, some Linux distribution will be able to run everything I need, or maybe my needs will change and I can suffice with Android devices. I'm really glad TrigrZolt made this video.

This is almost exact with just a few minor differences. Windows 8.1 can really look nearly identical to Windows 7! It's a shame the same can't be said for Windows 10.
Tbh, the only two reasons I use win 10 is because I have a windows mixed reality headset, and because Windows 7 isn't getting security updates, and actualy, if win 7 supported wmr headsets I might actually consider going back.

Before I upgraded to W10 and had it dual boot Manjaro A long time ago on w8.1 My pc didn't properly shutdown and I hit task manager The window border was w7 style and then I opened cmd as a new task and hit explorer A buggy Windows 7-like UI showed up, taskbar and all Start menu was unusable but it let me shutdown properly Was cool And scary I'm too poor to get a more up to date computer lmao

The only missing thing is that the title for open programs in Windows 8 are centered where as in Windows 7 they are all the way to the left.

You can replace multiple icons at the time in CustomizerGod, just select the ones you wanna change with Ctrl and replace like usual.
