Your Podcast rating is a 10 Dave. Very excited to hear about the monthly visit with Rick. I live on lake Conroe and fish it weekly. Very often as I ease out in the morning I think about being on the body of water that the God Father of tournament fishing began his career on. Rick is just one of those Legends that helped pioneer the sport we all love. Then today having Gerald is always a treat, and another Legend that's brought so much to the sport. 👍

Truly exceptional what happened to me today. I am not telling this for Kudos or sympathy but just how God works. I am a retired firefighter who struggles with things I have seen in the past. Today was a down day when I woke up this morning and sat down like any other morning to watch your pod cast. Hearing G talk about the firefighter and just how he put things in context in the world was helpful. You see as firefighters we always concentrate on the losses. Thats just how we are but listening to G and what he said about lookiing for the good things made my day a lot better. Thank you and G for being real and human makes the world a lot better place. What I heard today was what I needed to hear and not about what bait I should use. I Thank You both for that.

In all serious (im rarely serious) ive followed G for 25 years now. Wasnt until i was going through a rough time. Wasnt even fishing at that time or looking up fishing. I seen a video someone else posted was a video of G talking about positive mental attitude. You can still see it on youtube gerald swindle comedy hour 😂 hearing that at that time saved my life. Literally. Now i can be myself too. Proud of who i am. Was lucky enough to meet him and you too dave at lake murray. Started fishing again sitting 5th in bassmasters EQ. Only a few more events to go. Big thanks to you Dave! You dont realize you have helped people as well. Sometimes all people have to look forward to is the emotion and feeling you put into an elite series weigh in.
I’ve followed g man for years and watched a lot of his PMA videos they really made a difference for me in my life he’s one stand up guy and wow what a pod cast keep up the good work Dave
G explains it like no one else. Best show I’ve watched yet. No one more honest and doesn’t care what anyone thinks and speaks his mind. Also agree with him saying the entry fee makes everyone go for it and do the best till the end every day.
I sat down in my tackle room to re-line and rig tackle and got excited to see Mercer had G-man on!! Watched the whole thing and was so in to it and it was so good that I got all of one rod lined and that was it!! Awesome show guys and will always stop in my tracks for the wisdom of Swindle. What Gerald said all throughout this video is why when I saw him and his wife a lake Champlain last year I just stood there in awe as he launched his boat and chatted with Matt arey about leaving his graphs behind… speaking honestly and truthfully and from the heart. Real is real and he’s the best--this year I would love to shake his hand and get a picture. Great promoter of the sport….and of how to live a successful and honest life
This is correct on so many levels. Dave and G Man you are correct on sponsors and everything. I faced the same problem when I was a bowler on the Professional Bowlers Tour for a few years. People do not see the people struggling or the grind to make it as a dream for them, the loss of time, money and toll mentally. Yet trying to get a sponsor and yet fail or there are so many that are just good as you are either fishing, or whatever sport may be. You are correct on the selling depth of the fisherman compared to other sports. G and DM a class i think would be good on so many levels. The honesty is great on so many levels to pass on to future generations all the best to you both and everyone,

I'm 35 and I agree completely on the commercialization of Christmas. It mad me sick this year to see the amount of presents my kids received and their lack of gratitude. Also, santa brings a couple small gifts. Mom and Dad bought the big stuff. I don't want my kid telling his friends that Santa brought him a 4 wheeler and they wonder why Santa only brought them clothes.
Great show Dave. Gerald brought up some points about professional bass fishing that I never thought of. It gave a new, fresh insight to the way the sport is. Truly informative and eye opening. Kudos my friend.
😮 G blew my mind about the smell he was looking for * I have had a few in my life that bring me to a person or place in my mind < I'm just glad that I'm a fisherman and Gerald was put in my life < kinda < But the people who dont know who he is < Are missing out ! Thanks
The 2023 high school championship with 481 boats as a coach was pretty awesome! That kind of pressure on the fish shows the kids what they are in for at the higher levels. The kids skills come out and it shows who the truly good fisherman are.

I was really grateful meeting Gerald Swindle at Fun n Sun boats and tackle in Hurst Texas on the 20th of January. If anyone can go and meet G Man I recommend it....
My only experience with Gman...we stayed in the same campground as him at the Classic last year. He was rigging tackle that Wednesday evening as me and my family walked around and he was willing to take a few minutes and take a pic with me. Pretty cool!
What Gerald is saying is real life in what ever you try to achieve in life. Hard work, dedication, doing what you need to do to achieve a dream is hard work. If it was easy everyone would do it.
We are living in the “good old days” of bass fishing. Equipment, for example, has never been better. But I don’t think we’ve ever anyone more real in bass fishing than my fellow Alabamian Gerald Swindle.
I could listen to you and G-man talk 5 hours a day every day lol. Mercer you should get Tim Dube on here! Made it through incredible odds (as everyone does) to get onto the elite series this year. Has a great story to tell with his fishing career and decision to fish the elites. He’s the only fellow New Hampshire native I know who’s made it there! Great to see New England making an appearance this year!!

I said a long time ago that the holidays are one of the hardest parts of being in a relationship. Each side had their own traditions and they feel that they are most important.
I'd love to hear Rick telling stories about tournaments and fishing techniques from years ago. Telling stories about each classic won and lost would be great.
Dynamite show but best part was beginning where he asked how you were who's your wife n kids, then you asking him about Xmas times was real, no fish stories or products or negativity pod casts . That's what makes Dave's podcast the best ever. !!! Thnxs.
Another great "Hump Day" show!! Being real with the high schoolers is something that needs to be done. It is easier to make the MLB or Minor league than it is to make the Elite Series. All these kids hear is, if it is your passion, you can make it. Can't wait to catch you guys at Toledo Bend!!
G-Man is absolutely correct! I’m Marshaled for a couple of years and almost as soon as I left those tournaments, I was purchasing things I saw the pros use. I had to slow down. I think I may have bought a pro a boat or two as much money as I spent!

I could listen to you and G-man talk 5 hours a day every day lol. Mercer you should get Tim Dube on here! Made it through incredible odds (as everyone does) to get onto the elite series this year. Has a great story to tell with his fishing career and decision to fish the elites. He’s the only fellow New Hampshire native I know who’s made it there! Great to see New England making an appearance this year!!

Another great "Hump Day" show!! Being real with the high schoolers is something that needs to be done. It is easier to make the MLB or Minor league than it is to make the Elite Series. All these kids hear is, if it is your passion, you can make it.

G-Man is absolutely correct! I’m Marshaled for a couple of years and almost as soon as I left those tournaments, I was purchasing things I saw the pros use. I had to slow down. I think I may have bought a pro a boat or two as much money as I spent!
