I cannot thank you enough for this video. Such a beautiful stitch and so easy even I can do it! I am making a baby blanket for my soon grand baby girl… the very first one! Looking forward for more of your videos! I also subscribed.🙏🏽☮️💕
Oh my goodness... I've never done such a beautiful blanket before. I love this pattern and so easy to do. I am currently working on my 3rd blanket with this pattern for Christmas gifts. So relaxing, because once you get the pattern down, you can pay attention to friends talking, or watching a movie while doing. Thank you you for this wonderful pattern.❤
Very pretty stitch and great tutorial. I especially appreciated the beautiful crotchet hook with the yarn color you were using. Inspires me to seek out hooks that aren’t aluminum. 😊👍
This is beautiful. I made one in a beautiful coral color for a new baby girl. I’m not sure what to do for a border on the starting chain in order for the blanket to match on all for sides. I love the top and sides but the bottom is just straight. Thank you.
Hi, This is a beautiful pattern. I note that only 3 out of 4 sides of the rectangle will be scalloped. How can we make the 4th edge scalloped? Just work in a repeat along the starting chain as if it were an edging?
I guess we never get an answer. I played w the stitch for a while trying to replicate the scallop on the straight side, no luck. Even when working in a row there you can clearly see the chain. Tried in different variations and spaces. Gave up and i guess my blanket only has three scalloped sides.
I’m wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to not have the scalloped edges on the sides. I’m making some blanket panels and would prefer straight edges to sew together. I appreciate anyone’s advice! Thank you!
Here's how I worked it out. After you complete the first row, ch2, turn your work, and working along the bottom edge of the starting ch, make 3dc in the same ch as the 3dc from the first row, ch2, sc in the skipped ch2 sp of the starting ch, etc. Then continue building the following rows from that row you just made. Now the first row has become the bottom scallop border. I hope this makes sense.
That’s a good question! I’ve personally never tried it, you may need to tweak it a bit, although this stitch might be better just worked in turning rows 🤷🏻♀️
Ok so I would make a rectangle and sew up the side and cinch the top. Then for a brim you could do single crochet back loop only OR slip stitch back loop only and sew that to the bottom of the hat ❤️
@SpottedHorseDesign I was talking about starting chain. Top has scallops sides have scallops bottom has no scallops. How do you get that corrected. Shouldn't all sides look the same.thanks
@lindaplunk8311 I am NOT the desiner but here is what I do. I work the first row across the Straight bottom. Although it is not going the same direction it covers the starkness of the straight line.
Death leaves a hurt no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal!

Thank you very much 🩵
I thank you for this leason You are a great teacher
Thank you! 😃
How do you cast off? Just single crochet across the top? I’m making a large blanket and want my chain to match the top and bottom.
Yep. I’ve done that before and it worked great.
This is beautiful. I made one in a beautiful coral color for a new baby girl. I’m not sure what to do for a border on the starting chain in order for the blanket to match on all for sides. I love the top and sides but the bottom is just straight. Thank you.
I also am wondering how to make the bottom of the beginning row look more like the other 3 sides. Lovely stitch for a baby blanket. Thanks!
I’m making a single bed blanket out of this stitch 😊
Awesome! 🤩
On a pattern like this in which you end up with 3 scalloped edges, what do you do with the starting edge to make it match?
you do, but I don't mind it.
Hi, This is a beautiful pattern. I note that only 3 out of 4 sides of the rectangle will be scalloped. How can we make the 4th edge scalloped? Just work in a repeat along the starting chain as if it were an edging?
I wondered the same.

@@Yarnartist Absolute sense and brilliant!! Thanks so much!! ❤😊❤️
Very similar to the original "box stitch" blanket. Nice work!
Yes! Thank you!
Do tulip stitches work for circle crochet blankets?
That’s a good question! I’ve personally never tried it, you may need to tweak it a bit, although this stitch might be better just worked in turning rows 🤷🏻♀️
Is it possible to do decrease with this stitch?
I’ve never tried. But it may be similar to a C2C decrease possibly??
How many chains do you make?
I would like to use this stitch to make a hat. Do you have any advice on how to work this stitch in the round?
Ok so I would make a rectangle and sew up the side and cinch the top. Then for a brim you could do single crochet back loop only OR slip stitch back loop only and sew that to the bottom of the hat ❤️
What size hook did you use for the worsted weight swatch?
I used a 5.0mm
Mine curves/arches. What am I doing wrong ?
Possibly your tension…? Or maybe go up a hook size or two
Would love to know the name of the beautiful pink yarn you used in the first picture!
I used Mighty Stitch worsted yarn from WeCrochet ❤️
How do you work tulip stitch on straight starting row pattern, the beginning chain has flat edge??
Hi! I’m not sure I understand your question.
@SpottedHorseDesign I was talking about starting chain. Top has scallops sides have scallops bottom has no scallops. How do you get that corrected. Shouldn't all sides look the same.thanks

I love the work, but I just wish she would move away from that candle.
Depth perception! I am farther away than it looks 🤍😅
