This is an excellent video that gives so much more detail than all of the other BYD Dolphin reviews I've seen. I would have liked you to cover all of the options - you brushed over a few. It would also have been useful if you'd driven somewhere else and not censored the satnav. BYD would be wise to give you full access to the app and sim card, and pay you to do an official BYD video for BYD owners. Thank you so much. I think this has convinced me to get the Dolphin!
Thank you very much for the very thorough review. I'm between the BYD Dolphin and the MG4 and the Dolphin seems much better on the software and interior design.
hi, will the car remember the settings, especially those ADAS/safety features? If for any reason I prefer to have total control of the steering, can the lane keep assist be turned off permanently or will those safety features reset to default every time the car is turned off or restarted ?
You are showcasing 1.0 version of the car (sideloading of apps got prohibited in version 1.1 or 1.2). In version 1.1 and 1.2 laneassist, driving assist and other driver security systems got a more polished and less violently interacting with the driver. With version 1.3 notifications for speeding are almost unhearable. Plus a lot of other user experience improvements.
Wow, very useful review for a prospective buyer, thanks! Same Darby should send you a thank you note and waive your annual service charges for the next 5 years! 😀 Question: the traffic sign recognition is pretty annoying. But I heard it comes back on every time you start driving, so have to turn off each time. Is that true? Or can you turn off the traffic sign recognition permanently?
@@dericcykOhh I see, so by default it's not comfortable enough on the rear seats compared to ICE car with rear AC right? I thought because of small size, it is still cool enough on the second row
@renbangbprd7236 Yep correct. On a hot and sunny day, the entire car is going to be toasty. ICE car with rear AC is definitely better in this case. The driver and passenger will still be okay since we can turn on the car’s AC remotely to cool down before entering the car and also it has the seat ventilation feature.
Nope! That navigation is on their own. It has some features built-in but it kinda depends on your personal preference. You can still use Waze if you connect Apple CarPlay/Android Auto to the phone.
Do you know when the new model is coming out? I want the premium version but don't like the two tone scheme. Hoping the new model will have Premium version with just normal metallic paint.
Panas sebab kereta ni tidak tint lagi. As for cost, kalau pandu banyak mesti mahal. Tapi electric mahal kat rumah. If there's solar panel, even better.
Great video. I just bought this car so helps me understand more features. Thanks mate.
The video was very thorough and really useful. Thanks!

very informative, thank you

Appreciate it man. Thanks!

When I was testing this car, yes it does remember those settings

Turned off permanently!
Also I have to return the car right after filming this 😌
@@NasiLemakTech Ah, I thought it was your car. Would you buy the Dolphin for your next car? And which version would you pick?
TBH I'd go for a hybrid car :x
@@NasiLemakTech OK, thanks.
Hi I want to know, because of the rear seats doesn't have AC. Is it comfortable enough for rear passangers when we drive in very hot sunny weather?
Feels the same like leather seats. It's going to take a while before it is comfortable again.
That's where the remote startup feature helps a lot
Tint your moon roof and back seats sufficiently dark 80-90 won't be too hot

Great video. Can you make one for the BYD App features?
thanks!
Can you disable and shut off everything? Like completely, such as bluetooth, location, gps, etc? not just not using it OFF
Can't.
The navigation connected thru phone? How? T navigation better than Waze?

hows the map comparing to waze?
Personally, I think Waze is better since it has more personalized data - like traffic reports from other people and all that jazz.
Simply, the best way to address the low speed pedestrian warning sound is to disconnect it……
And then honk at everyone as a warning?
i love it though, good to let ppl be aware that you're on the road
@@dericcyk yeah it's a needed feature for pedestrians but not for the driver
I updated the car yesterday and don't know where the function to reactivate pedestrian noise is in the system. Do you know?
@@ViktorMito2099 Have u found it?

Yeah, easy
How to convert from chinese to english?
I think the Mexican version it’s too light comparing to this in the software

Why do you cencored the video?
