I ordered a lesser expensive 2017 CSB not too long ago. I can vouch for myself, it is a good alternative to the KJV. That is a very beautiful CSB in goatskin for the price. I'm comparing my CSB translation now, to my 1982 NKJV. Which has been my favorite for a few years now. I do recommend the CSB. Especially for young people, who were given a free KJV in Sunday School. Like me.
Enjoyed the review Tim! That's one thing I really love about the CSB is that the old testament quotes are bolded in the new testament.

I own close to 40 different bibles and this is by far the nicest one I own. It doesn’t hurt that I also love the CSB translation

I just got the verse by verse brown leather edition this past week not the goatskin. But still - Wow I am impressed. It is the nicest looking Bible I have ever owned. Yet not the most expensive one. The quality is really there. It is slightly big but I love the print and wide margin for small notes. Thanks for the reviews you do.

The CSB verse by verse in leather is great. In PREMIER goatskin is greater. I am hooked on BIBLES and PG TIPPS English tea. My new addiction AND drug of choice .
I like this bible, it got enough room for notes if you wanted to write in it. So for I have been afraid to write in my premium bibles.

Hello Tim, honest question; Although the 2020 CSB update simplifies the words into one in many parts, do you think the 2017 has it defined better? For example, 2020 says "justified" which is really "declared righteous" in it's clear meaning as my pastor would always break down to the congregation. It seems "declared righteous" would be the equivalent for the 21st century folks. Thus verse is one example of the ones you mentioned. What are your thoughts? I ask because I bought just the right CSB 2017 and find there was a revision without that goatskin ultrathin line. Thanks and God bless!

I LIKE CSB ESPECIALLY W ALL THE GENDER STUFF W NASB. IN10 POINT IT IS READABLE AND W DARK RATHER BOLD PRINT.
I am not afraid to use PREMIER bibles. Being 1/2 cost of Schuyler. And darker more readable PRINT with RED hilites. I mostly keep Schuyler CSB in box on a shelf.
I'm the same way. I have a leather Schuyler ESV that I never touch.
I have one of the first ones in the black and the ribbons are the thinner ones. I wonder if the newer black ones have the thicker ribbons?

It is great to have the words of Christ in black. In our country it is very uncommon to have the words of Christ in red. I don't understand why many (most?) bibles published by American publishers have them in red. Greetings from a German brother

How does paper quality? Compared to the CSB studying Bible. is it thicker? or the same thinner?
Is this the same basic size as the single column wide margin goatskin?
Ok answering my own question- the dimensions are the same with the exception of the thickness - the single column is 2.2 inches vs 1.7 for the verse by verse.

This is a good bible. I really like mine, except the ribbons are not very good. They are pretty flimsy and cheap. I wish they would have spent the extra 50 cents on decent ribbons. Other than that it is great.
I want to know how many Bibles do you have?
