I read some of the CSB and listened to the audio in the CSB app. I generally like the ESV, but I think I like this a lot. Great candidate for a rebind!!

Good to see you back with another review. I think CSB missed the mark on this one, not a fan. However, I am certainly looking forward to the personal size CSB single-column handcrafted collection that will be released in March 2024. It will have a calfskin cover and high-quality bible paper. It'll be my last CSB purchase because it'll probably be unbeatable. :)
That does look like an exciting release! Hopefully I'll be able to snag one for a review. I'm really curious about how that calfskin will look and feel.

I don't own it, but I have seen it in store and went through it a little bit. I really like the idea of the life counsel bible and hope it gets a lot of traction. Unfortunately, Holman has not been sending me bibles. All the bibles I feature come straight out of my pocket.
I bought the brown “goatskin “ CSB , not the hand crafted, their sale off bibles, during Covid lockdowns( 3/16-7/31/2020, Texas timeline). I paid 10$ plus 6$ shipping. It is definitely was bargain. Quality, meh. But a good beater.
Yeah...I think it's some sort of bonded goatskin leather. Definitely not super high quality but solid nonetheless.
Great video. The thing isn't "premium". I don't mind the spongy cover. It is VERY lightweight...it's kind of amazing actually.
The paper, to me, is ok. Nothing great. But nowhere near as bad as a Lockman LPUT printed in 2013.
This edition's real issue is with the typeface. The letter height is similar to a Schuyler Thintel, but the letters are smushed together. Really crowded.
I have the CSB large print center column and the textbook and typography are superior, but not as portable.
Is this a really portable CSB? Yes. Would I want to sit down and read it for three hours? No because of the eyestrain.

Well said...a crowded text block definitely makes for a really unpleasant experience overall. I'd much rather have a chunky bible around if it means I'll have a less cluttered typesetting.
They've been having a lot of quality control issues with these premium bottles.
It seems so, unfortunately! They're cheap enough that it's forgivable to me but their competition, especially Thomas Nelson and Zondervan, really outshines them.
@@WontonDisciple I don't know The Bible you just reviewed is close to $100 I don't consider that cheap. I've been considering getting my niece the CSB study Bible in the handcrafted series but I'm reluctant to do so unless it comes to me first

I could easily retort by restating exactly what you said. If you knew the Bible, you would know that the CSB is not erroneous. You see? Perhaps come back with a proper argument seasoned with much more grace rather than accusing me of not knowing the Bible. Otherwise, you can go hang out on another channel. Thanks.

@@alanhales6369 it certainly doesn't, and I've read the entirety of the bible. It's not as though people who've read the bible can't possibly come to different conclusions. For you to think anyone would read it precisely as you do would be ignorant and arrogant of you.

@@alanhales6369 that's question begging. You can't make an accusation without a viable argument. If I can just as easily turn your comment back against you, it's not a proper argument. I could just as easily say "anyone who knows the Bible will know that modern translations aren't erroneous." You're simply wasting your time here, so feel free to make your way out. Your ad hoc statements aren't gonna convince me, you have to actually argue your point. And not just that, you should season your arguments with patience and grace as the bible instructs so as to not harden the heart of your opponent. Until then, I ask you to make your exit, bully.
