    I did purchase that Bible for under $70. Sorry for not liking your video sooner than today. Thank you for making yourself available to all of us

    Another great review brother. Have heard of some complaining about the smell of the chrome tanned leather. Was wondering what your experience was and how it has been holding up. Thanks

    I’m getting very interested in the CSB translation. So thank you for reviewing the CSB BIBLE!! I like a single Column, Giant print with Christ words in red letters.

    It looks lovely but I am one of those who prefer red letter in the New Testament text. I am also one who prefers having the thumb index feature. I purchased an inexpensive CSB a short time ago and have found that I actually enjoy the way it flows. I never thought I would be interested in adding another translation to my collection/library of Bibles, but if I happen upon a CSB that checks off 90% of my boxes, I will likely add it to my armchair stack! Also, I wish that some of the more upper mid range priced Bibles would be a bit more "girly". Brown, black and burgundy are so masculine. How about some feminine colors guys? :)

      I sympathize. I purchase a purple CSB from Schuyler

      Not sexist, it's just they don't sell as much. Business gotta business at the end of the day.

    Can you please make a video comparing this with any version of Quentel?

    Thanks for doing this review mate, appreciate it. Do you have any idea what the little flower accent is for?

    That would be an excellent preaching Bible! I'm looking forward to receiving my copy thereof as well as the NKJV Premier Collection Large Print Thinline Reference Bible that you compared it with.

    This comes in a beautiful brown leather version which is about 60 or $70 on Amazon and not floppy for such a big Bible.

    I heard from another video review of this same Bible that even though it indicates the version says the copyright is 2017, this Bible has the CSB 2020 text. The explanation given was that because it was a minor update, Holman decided not to bother changing the copyright info to 2020 to indicate this has the CSB text. Were you able to verify that the text used for this the 2020 update? I saw your previous video about the verses updated on the 2020 text. I was just wondering if you were able to verify that this Bible uses the CSB 2020 update. I want to get a copy of this but only if it's the updated text. Thank you and looking forward to your feedback. I like your channel!

      Mine seems to say 2020 as date of the vxv BIBLE and copyright 2017 for CSB copyright.

    I like your fair bible translation reviews. Have you ever taken a look at the Modern English Version (MEV)? I'd like to see your thoughts regarding the translation.

    I've been enjoying the CSB translation quite a bit (Love their Day by Day Chronoligical). The layout in this v by v is what I prefer. I would like to buy one. This is a problem I've been having lately as I build a Bible library. So many are printed in China. We all know the problems with that nation. What are you thoughts on this Bro. Frisch

      I had the same hesitancy on China printed Bibles at first. However Christianity is not an American religion it is a world religion and for some of the people in China printing these, this may be the only time the pure Word is in front of their eyes.

    R.L. Allan Bibles are popular for doing tool line hubs. It’s a nice touch.

    Awesome brother! Is it your camera angle or is this bible wider then normal?

    • @AFrischPerspective
      @AFrischPerspective  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Bible is a tad wider than normal because it is wide margin.

    Did yours smell like paint thinner?

    • @catwoods5499
      @catwoods5499 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it was horrible but if you air it out some place where it can receive air it will go away. I suggested maybe trying to a dryer sheet to the front and back of the and slowly more it throughout the bible. It took mine about 4 to 5 days to clear up.

      Cat woods, thank you for the advice. I plan on getting a new cover eventually from PTL.

      @@micknitchell that would be cool I just got my 1st rebound bible back in April and I have to say I'm looking forward to doing it again. But...but not this one when that gross smell is gone you can or I have really come to enjoy the cover it's soooo soft like a pillow it's squishy I love it. But if that's not your thing than I can understand why you would want to rebind it.

    Would you say the csb is a word for word?

    • @AFrischPerspective
      @AFrischPerspective  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's pretty literal. Kind of between the ESV and NIV.

      A Frisch Perspective I keep asking because my ESV roots is keeping me from crossing over 🤦‍♂️

      This comparison may be helpful :-)
      For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
      For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 ESV)
      For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16 CSB)

      It tends to be more literal when being literal actually matters. It's looser when the original syntax of the text contributes little to the meaning of the text. If you want to use a translation that will help you study Biblical Greek, then you'll want to go with the NASB or NKJV. If you want a solid translation in modern American English, you can go with the CSB.
      As for the ESV, it comes from the RSV tradition, which has also produced the NRSV. Those translations favor traditional-sounding language, but they're often only slightly more literal than the CSB at any given moment. They sound better when read aloud, so they're ideal for church services, while the CSB is a smoother text for silent personal reading.

    Every time I feel I like what I see …no red letter man . What do Bible makers think about. Every body prefers verse by verse ..every one prefers words of JESUS in red wow I don’t understand …I could never find a leather bible with these features .

  • @michaelkelleypoetry
    @michaelkelleypoetry 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The verse-by-verse style is a turn off for me. It's too easy to accidentally take verses out of context like that.
