Can people NOT see! A political party does not represent me nor defines me, we the people at one point based on our beliefs and values defined the party. I can not consciously give my vote for a man who has based his candidacy on fear, lies, hatred and anger! WE can do a write in, it has happened in the past and can happen again, the issue..people, the individuals, needs to be in agreement who we will write in!

Wagner uses a reductionist argument to simplify the dilemma of voting one's conscience. The esteemed pastor (and so many others here) have a level (it's a high one) of spiritual maturity that does not permit surrender to Trump's unacceptably low bar of performance. So a non-vote for "XYZ" takes them to the spiritual high ground. This moral philosophizing was adequately repudiated back in 2016 by John MacArthur when he said that "He's not voting for Trump, he's voting for a worldview."

    • @76JStucki
      @76JStucki 3 ปีที่แล้ว

That's not much of a repudiation at all. Trump's "worldview" (if you can call it that) is nothing more than "Trump Trump Trump Trump Trump..." There is nothing--NOTHING--in Trumps life, anywhere, at any time, to suggest that he cares one bit about anything or anyone other than himself and his brand. So when he votes for Trump's worldview, he is voting for Trump and everything that comes with him.

    • @darwel007
      @darwel007 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@76JStucki No, we did not get "everything that comes with him" because Trump's personal weaknesses slowed him down but did not define his presidency. You may not like Trump's persona, but he gets high marks for advocating a worldview consistent with Biblical values. I agree that Trump does not appear to empathize, and his administration's actions may be only for political reasons. But he did post some accomplishments.

Why do people continue to say there are only two choices? America is not limited to only the R & D parties. There are other, albeit smaller, political parties in this country. If voters would educate themselves better they would learn about the other options. And yes, we will never have the "perfect" candidate to vote for so we will always have to use some discernment about who to vote for, the "lesser of two evils".

    • @60yearsinflint

Politics and election seasons in particular, I equate to football. You do all you can to win within the rules, but there will be infractions along the way.
That said, it would be ludicrous to equate a player who occasionally gets a holding call to a player who is constantly ripping off his helmet and beating opposing players with it.

LUV Your Discussion! This Scripture came to mind a few days ago as I have been pondering this topic: 1 Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. this thought has also crossed my mind several times: if WE vote for candidates Knowing he/she are liars, thieves, adulterers, etc, HOW/WHY Would God Bless our City, State & Nation?
It seems to me, that God allows us to fall when we do not obey Him. We see throughout history, peoples being tossed to & fro, fall into captivity, & even nations destroyed.
If we want God to bless Us & the USA, I think we need to show Him we are deserving of His blessings, & I think, we can achieve this as we do our best in obeying His commandments.

God has used imperfect people all through scripture...I posted this a while back...Just my opinion. Peace.
Many of our “Good Christian” Brothers and Sisters continue to denigrate Trump, refusing to realize or acknowledge the fact that by not voting, or voting for some third party candidate that has absolutely no chance to win, they are actually casting a vote for Hillary...And don't even attempt to argue this point...
I've been holding off on writing this, because I didn't want to get into a potentially negative argument with my Christian Family.
Unfortunately, their well-meant ignorance needs to be answered by a Christian who Loves Jesus, got saved late in life at age 30 and remembers what life was like in the “un-cloistered Church world” instead of the world of our cozy little existence, where all our time is spent with fellow Believers who mostly share the same ideals.
Recently, it has been said that although America might house the world’s largest Christian population, research shows that our country, which was founded upon biblical principles more than two centuries ago, is actually in the midst of transitioning into a “post-Christian” nation from coast to coast.
What does it mean to say we are in post-Christian times?
Open your eyes and look around…
It means that we have left the historical period in which our Christian religion and its Biblical principles were at the core of the moral fiber and behavior of the majority of Americans. It doesn’t mean that Christianity has disappeared, but it does mean that Christianity as the ideal and the prevalent cultural force is no longer dominant.
Because of this, how can we expect this America to elect our “Perfect Candidate”…
”The Politician/Pastor” who will lead us with the Wisdom of Solomon and sinless grace, according to all our Biblical principles…
The sad truth is, we cannot expect anything even close to this…the rest of our country would never stand for it.
Maybe all of these discussions are for naught…maybe this whole affair is part of God’s “End-Times” scenario, where the good ole US doesn’t seem to play a big part, according to the Book of Revelation…
But I’ll leave that possibility to my very learned Theologian Brothers and Sisters to argue…
So my ultimate point is, while I am not a huge fan of Trump, I KNOW what the Clintons stand for and will most definitely implement should she become President...
So by all means, stand on your "High-Horses" and Biblical Ideals of what you think our next President must be, and watch our beloved country disappear into oblivion...

I have, and am free to support whom I want to support... As you are in supporting whomever...
This is a "none or neither of the above" election for me... As I find Clinton, Trump, and Johnson, lacking lacking in morals,no matter what the propaganda says...
The Republican party has become the Repugnican party to me and their platform will be ignored by the "gilded toad"...
The Libertarian Party is hostile to Christian social conservatives like me...
And Gary Johnson says that "privately, he's pro-life", but says that supports the right of women to have abortions... At the least, he has "cognitive dissonance", and at the worst, he is evil... There has been 58 million abortions since 1973...
      That should trouble you...
Then, there's drug legalization, starting with marijuana...
So, I'll be voting for the " down ballot" Republican candidates for the Congress and Senate...
As Ted Cruz said in his excellent speech, I am voting my conscience...

There is not a biblical mandate requiring that we vote, especially when there are no godly candidates to vote for. We do not have to choose "the lesser of two evils." In fact, Christians must not share in choosing any form of evil. (1 Thess 5:22). If you sense God is telling you to sit out this election altogether, then it would be wise to obey Him. Of course, voting is not compulsory. By not voting you are exercising your right *not* to vote. Do not allow the world around you (or even Christians) to guilt you into voting because, "It is your right, and it is your civic duty." It would be a sin for you to go against your conscience, or cause another to go against theirs. (Rom 14:13-23).
"Christians must turn from the endless cycle of voting for the lesser of evils and expecting an unrighteous act to produce a righteous result. From a communist to a cultist, choosing the lesser of two evils is still evil, and never should we do evil that good may come."
    ~ Michael Marcavage
Sure, we can always vote for a third party, or write in someone if doing so temporarily soothes our civic conscience. The matter is truly between us and God. May He grant us the wisdom to wisely cast our vote, or sit this one out for His glory.

The only way to keep from getting politicians one does not mean to get, is to make their vote say what they mean. If we keep making our votes say that we will vote for the lesser of two evils then we will continue to get evil. My vote is only going to mean what I mean. Will not vote for either Trump or Clinton.

+kelly patrick The very concept of "liberty" as we have known it in this country came from Scripture. !! For. 3:17 - Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Without God there is no liberty. Our founders never wanted Americans to forget it. That is why Lev. 9:10 is on the Liberty Bell. That is why Moses holding the Ten Commandments is on the facade of the U.S. Supreme Court. That is why it was once routine that the Ten Commandments were on city council properties all over America. Scripture tells us what to look for in a candidate. Ex 18:21 Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: Our Founding Fathers warned us that we should elect Christians to public office. John Jay (Author of the Federalist Papers; Original Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Crt & gov. of NY) said, "Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation, to select and prefer Christians for their rulers." There is so much Scripture that proves what you say is incorrect, that there simply is not enough space for it here.

+Cherrill Clifford The purpose of Jesus’ life and work was to fulfill both the Law (the books of Moses) and the Prophets (other Old Testament books). He did not destroy the Old Testament. But that doesn’t mean that Christians have to keep circumcision and all the other old laws. Jesus’ ministry caused many changes in the law - changes so dramatic that laws were “set aside” or declared “obsolete” (Hebrews 7:18; 8:13). Some laws remained the same, some were changed, and others were “abolished” (Ephesians 2:15).
When Jesus said, “I have not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets,” he did not mean that each specific law would stay exactly the same. He meant that the purpose and message of the Law and the Prophets remain exactly the same. The Law and the Prophets pointed to him and were intended from the beginning to be fulfilled by him.
Some of the specific laws of the old covenant are still valid, but many of them were set aside when Jesus came and fulfilled them by his life, death and resurrection. Matthew 5:17 is not a “proof” of any particular law, because this verse does not tell us which specific laws are still valid or which have been changed or set aside.
True Christian always follow Jesus s teaching we don't cherry pick the Bible. If everyone could be like Jesus this world would be grand. But we can't that is why he died for us. I follow Jesus I WILL NOTE VOTE for so called Christians......

Thanks for sharing this video. Though, I agree with your premise, I disagree with your conclusion. First of all, we have to pray through every decision and follow God's leading. I, personally, do not believe it is wise to write in a candidate or vote third party, when their victory is not viable. Secondly, I disagree with the inferred narrative that Trump is not worthy of our vote. God has raised Trump up, gave him the Republican nomination, beyond all odds, with the the entire world against him and his family. Insiders on both sides hate him and feel threatened by him because he is NOT owned by them, loves America, and loves liberty; including religious liberty and the life of the unborn. He will hold them accountable and clean house. Trump has to fight the Democrats, the Liberals, the Socialists, the Republican Rhinos, the self-righteous Evangelicals, and the corrupt Leftist media outlets that lie all day long about him, while hiding the evils of Hillary.
She is pure evil. She believes in abortion, until the day a baby is born. She says that a baby has no constitutional rights, not even on the day of birth. She wants open borders and globalism. She wants to increase the number of unvetted Muslim refugees by 550%. She will appoint the next 2-5 Supreme Court Justices, ensuring a far left Supreme Court that will continue to strip Christians, Churches, and Christian institutions of our religious liberty. We will lose every case, as we are losing now, because of Leftist, Liberal judges. There is no appeal beyond the Supreme Court. They serve for LIFE. She will try to strip us of our Second Amendment Rights, which could launch us into another Civil War, because free Americans will not willingly surrender our guns. The Democrats will continue to bankrupt America, weaken our military, and give away our sovereignty to the UN. Obama just gave away the INTERNET. We are fighting for the life and preservation of our beloved country, as we know it. We are a free nation full of free people, who are fighting enemies from within and without. This is why they want our guns, our schools, our courts, our media outlets, and the Internet. It is about controlling the masses by the overreaching hand of the federal government, who will later be controlled by the UN. This is the one world government that is prophesied in the Bible.
I don't believe that Trump is evil. I don't believe that Trump is beyond God's reach. I think it's self-righteous to acknowledge that we're all sinners, but can't vote for Trump. Trump is flawed, like all of us, but has many positive qualities. He has a history of helping people, of being generous, of caring for people. He has paid off people's mortgages, flown military home, flown a terminally sick child to get health treatment, when no one else would, given money, support to those forgotten and in need. He has always done this, from the past to present day help to those in the floods and hurricanes. These stories are just an inkling of the heart of a billionaire that has always been in the public eye, but was not intending to run for office. He has many defenders and testimonies from people who proclaim his kindness, his caring, and his generosity. You cannot hold him to the standard of a believer, when he wasn't one. He is a man who is changing and growing. He is now Pro-life! What some people call arrogance, others call strength, confidence, determination. He is plain speaking, blunt, concise, straight forward, and honest about the state of America and those in power. We don't need flowery promises and poetic speeches. We need the truth.
Many Christians have been deceived by the corrupt media outlets that lie all day long FOR Hillary and AGAINST Trump. They want to bring a BB gun to a Civil War. Like it or not, there are only two viable options. It is not choosing the lesser of two evils. It's about making the BEST CHOICE possible. Abraham was flawed. David was flawed. Saul was flawed. Peter was flawed. Solomon, the wisest man in the world, was flawed. Moses was flawed. Paul was flawed. These flaws included lying and murdering! God has raised Donald Trump, a flawed man, to accomplish His purpose. We can rest in that, but fight against evil by voting AGAINST Hillary and FOR TRUMP.
God is sovereign. He may or may not give Trump victory. If He does, then He is granting us a reprieve. If Hillary wins, then He is judging America. We are a nation that has allowed the slaughter of almost 60 million unborn babies. We deserve judgment, but pray for God's mercy.
This is my humble opinion. May God be glorified, exalted, and His perfect will be done! May God have mercy upon us, our country, and our world!

ok, this verse didn't come to mind although I don't believe this is what David is saying. I will post a commentary underneath if you want to read.
I was thinking more about the verse in Romans which is commonly misunderstood.
4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
if all men "are" liars, no one shall enter the kingdom of God
ev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death
I said in my haste - The Hebrew word used here means to flee in haste; to be in alarm and trepidation; and the idea seems to be, that the assertion referred to was made under the influence of excitement - or that it was not the result of sober reflection, but of an agitated state of mind. It does not necessarily imply that that which was said was false, for many true statements may be made when the mind is agitated and excited; but the meaning is, that he was then in such a state of mind as to suggest the belief, and to cause the assertion that all people are liars. Whether calm reflection would, or would not, confirm this impression of the moment would be a fair question after the excitement was over.
      Barnes
All men are liars - Are false; no one is to be relied on. This was said in the time of his affliction, and this added much to his affliction. The meaning is that, in those circumstances of distress, no one came to his aid; no one sympathized with him; there was no one to whom he could unbosom himself; no one seemed to feel any interest in him. There were relatives on whom he might have supposed that he could rely; there may have been those to whom he had shown kindness in similar circumstances; there may have been old friends whose sympathy he might have had reason to expect; but all failed. No one came to help him. No one shed a tear over his sorrows. No one showed himself true to friendship, to sympathy, to gratitude. All people seemed to be false; and he was shut up to God alone

    JOHN THE BAPTIST
leaped for joy in his mother’s womb at 6 months!
    The Bible says,
“As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy!”
    Luke 1:44
This means abortion is murder, and babies cry in agony, not joy, when they are murdered in the womb!
The Orthodox Church and God say abortion is murder!
“The LORD says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you!”
    Jeremiah 1:4-5
There are extremely rare exceptions but the most common cases occur when a girl seeks to murder her baby in her womb up to even the ninth month because her irresponsible boy friend left her after they were practicing sexual immorality outside of a responsible marriage union!
BUT CHRIST HAS CONQUERED DEATH, SIN, AND THE DEVIL!
There is mercy for the repentant sinner and no Christian can vote for a political candidate who supports this murder of babies in the womb!

  • @seekaloft
    @seekaloft 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

You have the right to not vote at all because God is not a Democrat nor Republican. The good news is not Gospel + political affiliation. We are ambassadors for Christ. Politics is tied only to earthly kingdoms. We must remember FIRST that our kingdom and citizenship are in heaven. However, as a Christian you can vote Democrat with a clear conscience. Democrats are pro-choice (and not pro-abortion) just like God because God does not force morality on people but instead honors people's choices (independent of whether the choices are right or wrong). On the other hand, many can't see how Christians can be Republicans who support a convicted sexual predator and pathological liar who is totally opposite of Christ whom they profess to serve. Some say that God can use an evil leader but the Old Testament shows that after God uses the evil leader he punishes and even destroys the evil leader and followers.
The bible does say who you should vote for. You should vote for someone who will give you a "tranquil and quiet life full of godliness and dignity". (1Tim 2:1-2) Who can that be? It is someone who is the most Christ-like. Not one that is the least evil. Why? Because integrity and character matters (by their fruits you shall know them) and policies don't matter as much because most candidates once elected don't follow their party, platform, and promised policies.

  • @tonyrobinson443
    @tonyrobinson443 8 ปีที่แล้ว

Voting for the amount of evil that you are comfortable with? Unfortunately, people can be comfortable with something that crosses God's boundaries.
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth (Pr 8:13). Donald Trumph embodies that which we are called to hate, even more overtly than Hillary. "Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such." Are Christians advocating for someone like this or someone contrary to what we are to hate? Paul expounded these principles in his letters, but the above are the basics condensed. These principles were given to people who were not perfect to screen people who were not perfect. Not following them is worse that doing nothing, it is anti-Christ regardless of how you feel or what you intend to happen.
Refusing to advocate the lesser of two evils is not doing nothing. Each time Christians prostitute themselves to advocate someone in opposition to what God's Word outlines, they are teaching the world to follow a lower standard than God's Word. They are teaching the world to trust in their own strength and to live by sight, not by faith in obedience to God regardless of what doom threatens to come as a result of it. Well-meaning intentions cannot justify disobedience regarding something that is wrong in and of itself. Candidates that Christians advocate for a position influencing public morality should be, um, ah, eh, - moral. Though God has even used Lucifer to fulfill His will, or can take lemons to make lemonade, Christians should not be the one offering up the lemons.
"Cannot not vote." I understand what he saying in regards to write in candidates or 3rd party. Good point. However, if your election does not allow write ins, protest the best you can against the candidates, but do not feel compelled to vote merely for voting's sake. Over 4 million U.S. citizens who have done nothing wrong will not have the option of voting: they live in U.S. territories like Puerto Rico.
