It's amazing how they managed to make some scenes true shot-for-shot remakes, but changed and added scenes that flesh out characters like Sarah, Tess and Bill. TLoU should be a new standard how to tackle adaptations
They mentioned a reason for the change in the "inside the last of us" videos. They said they couldnt include "spores" because in reality spores wouldnt stay localised in one area, they would spread everywhere, so instead of spores they made this connection with the fungi across a large area as that is what fungi is like in reality. Plus it adds more scary aspects to the virus. I kind of like the change.
Each has strengths. The game kinda lacked blood. But had the moment she passes on screen and we watch her life fade away is haunting. But the show's version definitely more brutal. The amount of blood, the sheer amount of pain on Joel's face, and the fact that she passed away so quickly and off screen in the blink of an eye. Just chills man. Both are amazing but yeah the game's version is just so hard to watch even after so many years.

I just finished watching TLOU ep 4 and saw this video. I think they really missed some of the element from the game Ep 1 : The soldier being reluctant at first since Sarah is just a little girl vs the tv show's 3x yes sir! and on this episode 4. He didn't even mention the "Oh, he ain't even hurt"
I think the tone of the "yes sirs" conveyed the emotion pretty well. First one's affirmative, second time surprised/reluctant, and the third one is clearly unhappy about the order, but tinged with resignation.
I have really enjoyed watching the series 😁 At times it makes me feel like I'm playing the first game again 🔥 Right now, the series is my favourite show to watch 👍

This could have easily been an issue with the writing and the direction as well. That being said, I thought Gabriel Luna was absolutely fantastic as Tommy.
HOT TAKE🔥 Must have been really hard coming up with the TV show adaptation. When they basically copy paste 90% of the game scene by scene. PS games are already 95% cinematic & 5% gameplay focused. Which makes it easy for TV/Movie. One thing, PS make great movies, not so great games. I'll sit down anytime & watch it on TH-cam then actually playing it.

Its a completely different animal and so far, its been fantastic. Yall seriously need to grow up and realize this is the best video game adaptation ever created, and we got lucky that its been so well received and loved by most. It is a great game adaptation, but I agree with the race swapping. As a minority, it really gets irritating seeing them ONLY race swap white characters. All other minorities stay intact though. That is not "giving the job to the best candidate". That's just pandering and its getting annoying.

The cordyceps didn’t connect to individual hosts if one was in the trouble in the original. Makes it kinda scarier in the show.

I’m enjoying the show, but some aspects of the game worked much better and I think there are casting issues.
