I never played world of war craft growing up. I made an account two years ago when dragonflight released because come on house of dragons.. dragonflight. Had to. I thought it was fun but I don’t think I even got to any dragon flight content. It was just a classic mmorpg . I know people talk crap about dragonflight but I can say that the ad for dragon flight and the new class and race is what got me into it so sorry it wasn’t what you wanted as a die hard WoW fan but it was the perfect for someone who has never been in the universe and well ,you should probably try to do both, cus believe it or not. Money matters
just came back and feel like a fool to have missed out on pandaria remix. hope they remix the other expansion or even the base game, i would love doing classic naxx runs in current retail, so i can get Tier3 without spending an arm and 2 legs in gold on the black market auction house.

I activate war mode to get the extra 10% gold off world quests. Problem is everyone in world pvp wears pvp gear with versa. I don't have any. If they do engage me, I normally die in 3 secs even though I'm over 500ilvl since I got rid off all versa gear heh
thats the nice thing about retail,the spectrum is HUGE,you got your hardcore difficult stuff,and you have a bunch of inbetween all the way down,you can even get tier set now playing very casualy,in this pre patch i got the full set on every class in a few days of echos,and in war within you can get it in delves solo

this is not true, in classic most of your journey is 1-60 which is very difficult and takes upwards of 60 hours, you can max a character in retail in a day with no issues, but the journey kinda starts at max

I've been enjoying Classic for the last year but thinking I'll make the switch when The War Within drops. The different tiers of dungeons seems really appealing to me. Classic gets old. You can only run MC/BWL/AQ40/NAXX so many times...
Ye as someone playing mainly classic for two years i gotta say that retail is kinda fun but login for the first time is just obnoxious. Retail is just too much shit at once. Theres actualy no way that any new player or returning one from long break can make any sense of it. Of where to go, what to do, what to priotize from the gazzilion quests, what to do and where to get the UNBELIVEABLE amount of currencies, how to make a sence of the crafting, where to get the best stuff like what to do eith bullions where to get the head enchant etc etc etc..not even speaking of the huge amount of the weekly evenets like rifts, superbloom, hunt, siege, dreamsurge etc etc etc..its just to convoluted if you dont play it consistently

Any fps beyond your screens refresh rate is a trade off between extra electricity use, hardware wear and tear and reduced input lag, less screen tear, stuttering. I personally set my fps to my screens refresh rate. Makes your computer very quiet as well.
If a new player (I've only played classic and it was only since HC and SoD came out) wanted to play retail and do all the "best" story quests to level up, what questlines would you guys recommend? I know I have to do the Azeroth one, but besides that? Also if you know zone names or NPC's I need to go to to start them it would be appreciated since I know virtually zero of the areas in the game.
Well.. wow.. that's a massive question. If you havent played retail yet, i would say create your character and start in the race starting area (not Exile's Reach as this is a tutorial island for completely new players). Follow the quests and you will likely be directed to Dragon Flight as the latest expansion. Use this to level to 70 and pick up the pre patch stuff for War Within as this will likely be the only story lines that are going to flow and tell a story. The other option is 'Chromie time' at level 10. Visit Chromie in your faction capital city and pick an area to level in. She will put you in that timeline and mobs there will scale to your level. The timelines are based on previous expansions, but which one you choose is up to you. What is 'best' will be different depending on people's favourite expansions so it's really up to you. I liked Warlords of Draenor and Wrath of the Lich King, but they all have their pro's and cons. I will say that levelling in retail is going to be a much different experience than levelling in classic. Much faster, much more focussed on levelling rather than exploring and much easier in the respect of things like not needing to visit trainers as your spells and abilities will just drop in when you level or add talents. Is it better? Meh, well only you can decide that when you've played both :D Good luck, have fun! ;)
They don't force new players into BFA anymore. They now made dragonflight the default leveling experience after exiles reach and it starts you off with an understandable intro cinematic aswel. As someone who couldn't get into retail before and recently re-tried it after the changes it is a lot more digestible for a new player.

Getting gladiator in solo shuffle and joining an RBG team was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in WoW. Pushing solo shuffle is the only thing comparable to Escape from Tarkov when it comes to the adrenaline rush.

I logged into Retail for the pre-patch event just to get the mount and the heirloom ring for lols...since its a timed thing and will be gone with the launch. But the reality is, the game is still horrendously bad, just like it was when i quit 2 weeks into Dragonflight. It's beyond awful when it comes to the MMORPG feel, the world, classes, etc compared to Classic and other games. Nothing gives me more depression than an open world game ignoring and making obsolete 95% of itself in favor of the ''current expansion/patch'' and the shiniest new raid tier. Like i've said before, Blizzard can go fk themselves. In any case, i'm no Classic andy and have no intention to play Classic...i simply miss MMORPG actually being MMORPGs...not this crap, whatever Retail is now. I play CP2077, Witcher 3, and other games over and over because of immersion, world building and character progression from lvl 1. As much as i want to play WoW, the game is repulsive by design these days.

@@deenman23 Ngl I like WoW's classes and combat, but everything else about retail is lacking compared to other MMO's. I was a WoW boy for a long time but I tried FF14 and whew boooyyy. FF14 has better looking characters/world, better crafter/gatherers, housing, keeps all of its expansions relevant, way better armor sets/glamour (transmog), and a much more lively community whether you're chilling or roleplaying. Honestly the only thing I hate about FF14 is the PvE combat and how every class needs at least 3 hotbars of skills. Retail makes none of the previous expansions matter, except collectables. It's just rush to max and do repeatable content over and over. But GOD DAMN does the combat feel good

@@bladerunner2006 my brother in christ; leveling in retail is either you spam dungeons and people with heirlooms oneshot them, or what you can do to enjoy them is, literally quest, which you do in classic, where mobs actually hit you and you dont one shot them. especially when you get to dragonflight. leveling takes literally 6-17 hours depending if you turn brain off or not, contrary to 8 years on classic. i dont know nor i care about the overmonetized part though, I've been f2p ever since, have like 200 mounts if you care about that which i didnt even farm, have many tmogs from running old raids and the gameplay is super fun , doing +18 dungeons with pugs (+28 of last season) and got to 6/9m of last season raid with pugs. maybe you're just looking at it in a different way? the game has never been this pug friendly and friendly to the player like ever. I'd suggest you to try it.

Reaching? Desperate? They literally just did a recap to people coming back or new players joining in so they don't have to play through almost a decade of old content (legion to current) in order to understand what's going on. Retail is doing really good right now, the gameplay is solid and the story is looking up with Xal'atath, the classes each feel distinct and all are fun in their own ways after the reworks so many got with pre-patch. Just because you prefer Classic or other games doesn't mean you have to hate on it for no reason, especially while it is in such a good state.

It's not just brutal, it's downright atrocious in a multitude of ways. Bloated, overly complicated class design is just one of such issues.

As a casual player, i'm loving retail atm. Leveling up all my alts with ease and fast with the event.

Wow gives you a photosensitivity warning, a profanity filter, an arachnophobia filter and removed all offensive images because you can't be trusted to cut your own crusts off your sandwiches.
I logged into Retail for the pre-patch event just to get the mount and the heirloom ring for lols...since its a timed thing and will be gone with the launch. But the reality is, the game is still horrendously bad, just like it was when i quit 2 weeks into Dragonflight. It's beyond awful when it comes to the MMORPG feel, the world, classes, etc compared to Classic and other games. Nothing gives me more depression than an open world game ignoring and making obsolete 95% of itself in favor of the ''current expansion/patch'' and the shiniest new raid tier. Like i've said before, Blizzard can go fk themselves.
In any case, i'm no Classic andy and have no intention to play Classic...i simply miss MMORPG actually being MMORPGs...not this crap, whatever Retail is now. I play CP2077, Witcher 3, and other games over and over because of immersion, world building and character progression from lvl 1. As much as i want to play WoW, the game is repulsive by design these days.

@@deenman23 Ngl I like WoW's classes and combat, but everything else about retail is lacking compared to other MMO's. I was a WoW boy for a long time but I tried FF14 and whew boooyyy. FF14 has better looking characters/world, better crafter/gatherers, housing, keeps all of its expansions relevant, way better armor sets/glamour (transmog), and a much more lively community whether you're chilling or roleplaying. Honestly the only thing I hate about FF14 is the PvE combat and how every class needs at least 3 hotbars of skills.
Retail makes none of the previous expansions matter, except collectables. It's just rush to max and do repeatable content over and over. But GOD DAMN does the combat feel good
@@apensalesman having previous expansion content matter would make people go berserk,we had issues with to many chores in CURRENT expansions,so yeah...no thanks
@deenman23 too many chores in current expansions? The end game is always chores in every expansion because there's nothing else to do besides repeatable content at max.
They only can't make every expansion relevant because they don't know how. Ff14 made it work so players experience each bit as they progress and have no issues
@@deenman23 yeah that’s exactly the problem though, what’s the point in completely destroying old content for the sake of new content? WoW feels like the marvel universe of games now, too much shit going on to even care, it’s all about the newest,biggest, shiny thing they have.

i want retail to be good so much, but it never gets there for me. i love the class kits, how much potential content there is, etc.
the leveling is just so boring I can't even make it to max level. it's also so fucking overmonetized, it makes me puke in my mouth.

leveling in retail is either you spam dungeons and people with heirlooms oneshot them, or what you can do to enjoy them is, literally quest, which you do in classic, where mobs actually hit you and you dont one shot them. especially when you get to dragonflight.
leveling takes literally 6-17 hours depending if you turn brain off or not, contrary to 8 years on classic.
i dont know nor i care about the overmonetized part though, I've been f2p ever since, have like 200 mounts if you care about that which i didnt even farm, have many tmogs from running old raids and the gameplay is super fun , doing +18 dungeons with pugs (+28 of last season) and got to 6/9m of last season raid with pugs.
maybe you're just looking at it in a different way? the game has never been this pug friendly and friendly to the player like ever. I'd suggest you to try it.
@@bladerunner2006 I’m with man. It’s boring and annoying how it’s constantly throwing information at you instead of just letting you play. Like it shoves all the new systems down your throat In the first 5 seconds instead of letting you figure them out I an intuitive way. classic just feels better in every way I can think of.

Man it just feels so fucking desperate now with blizzard that intro was reaching so hard to make this story exciting but good lord...
Reaching? Desperate? They literally just did a recap to people coming back or new players joining in so they don't have to play through almost a decade of old content (legion to current) in order to understand what's going on.
Retail is doing really good right now, the gameplay is solid and the story is looking up with Xal'atath, the classes each feel distinct and all are fun in their own ways after the reworks so many got with pre-patch.
Just because you prefer Classic or other games doesn't mean you have to hate on it for no reason, especially while it is in such a good state.
