I don't know what I was expecting. But 2 1/2 hours of Asmon running around on a mount talking about how disappointed he is with WoW/blizzard sounds about right
It is sad. And I know it well. I seem to talk about WoW a lot, log in occasionally, do absolutely nothing, get bored to tears, and log back out. It’s just not a fun game. 😢
Worst of it being, he clearly hasn't played the game in the last 2 years, but he's still so negative about what he perceives the game to be without knowing what the game is now.
@@ultrastoat3298yeah like watching videos about a streamer complaining about the game thats not worth playing, apparently. Lol this community is so unintentionally hilarious its insane 😂😂
people want to play the blame game, but i dont watch content that starts to come off rediculous to please the YT algorithm... and im sure im not the only one who will start to not click these if they continue down this path. im not a child.
Call me old but i love what he said about just enjoying the game and not worrying about getting every single item and what not. I used to kill my enjoyment for games doing that exact thing. Always min-maxing trying to get the best whatever, not even thinking about just enjoying the game. Every since i started slowing down like that, i have so much more fun no matter what im playing.
I was just going to say something similar to this lol acting like not logging in for a handful of months is him thinking its been 4 years and multiple major expansions lol
@@IceKoldX mhmm, exactly why he's hating on WoW more than playing it, cause it makes him more money if he hates on it. gotta appease the jaded ex players who would rather give him the $15 than to play the game when it's fun. he's farming the "Wails" while Blizzard farms the Whales.
I dont understand when did setting goales and reaching them become unfun? Just because you guys suck and cant get a +2 key doesnt mean others dont have fun with being good at something xD As soon as it gets competitive people scream for fun but bro there is no fun in being competitive, reaching your goals is fun, the way to your goal is and should be HARD, so cry all you want and play minecraft, WoW aint a safezone anymore its for geeks and grinders, money makers and economy simulators. Its not a game to have fun in, you can, but have to understand its so much more that you should just go away if all you want is have fun. You can have fun without a computer you dont need WoW to have fun, you are your own problem! Thank me later :)
I feel like Asmon has moved on from WoW as a whole, but just isn't able to come to terms with that yet. So he is constantly grasping at straws trying to come up with all these reasons as to why he doesn't enjoy the game anymore. Seems to be a situation of no matter what they do, players like him will never be happy and always find things to take up issue with, because they just don't enjoy the game anymore. It's a very hard thing to accept with a game like this, when it has been such a massive/important part of so many of our lives. It's very difficult to let it go, especially when you have so many memories and so much nostalgia attached to it.
It was easy for me to quit because I couldn’t afford the subscription anymore lol, but I played from 2004-2018 i still want to play WoW again one day, but I’m waiting for a better time. My mother who got me into the game died a long time ago and before she died for years she wouldn’t let me convince her to play it. In retrospect I guess I’m glad I missed a lot of the pussification of WoW, but I had to see Sylvanas be a bitch to Vol’Jin, that sucked. 2023 I started playing Ascension and it’s wow but classless and for the most part I really like it. Why am I typing this? Well my power just went out and I’m bored :SMOrc
FOMO is a psychological trigger like any other, it's an impulse to , in this case to not feel left out or missing on something. Beyond simply caring about it which isn't as easy as that, the easiest way to do it is to just be aware of when it happens and stopping yourself from engaging with it. Also tell yourself it's not important and it's an artificial thing created by a company to make you spend more money and time on their product, you gain absolutely zero of anything by engaging with FOMO tactics.
1:00:00 The fact that there are like 500 different currencies show how bloated and fucked wow really is... building on top of each expansion instead of reworking or reusing previous system.. is one of the biggest mistakes in the IT world.. doesnt matter if we are talking about games, web-apps or other software... it's always the same and always dumb af.
this is a weird nitpick, the currency is fine, you only care about it for one patch,or if you like collecting stuff, its also themed,it would be weird if you used the same currency for sw and for interdimentional space vendors
True, one of the worst things about IT is building on top of shit foundations because of short sighted business decisions, that in the long run hurt everything.
@@StarContract I am so glad that my current company and the customers are willing to invest in continues refactoring... we build individual software and holy cow... that shit would be so fucked and unstable after 1 year that you could barely touch it without breaking stuff.
Even if she appears she's apparently not worth speaking of. She had a massive role in 2 of the last 4 expansions, the recap extends back to the last parts of Legion, so I think it's still telling that they don't even mention her name in this summary of events.
That's the problem for me currently, it's the same shit every xpac. Level up, get gear, do keys and raids, open your weekly vault, kill the bad man, repeat every 2 years.
I mean you cant worry about it mate, everything is so standardised now that the only thing you could ever min max for a true bis is trinkets or some special effect weapon. Almost all gear is the same literally 0 diversity in builds. Boring...
As an older guy myself, this was the most relatable Asmongold video I've ever seen, from taking the game less seriously, to burning out, to not relating to the new story and style, to preferring the old flying system and forgetting about changes that happened way back in Cata lol. And before anyone points it out, I know you can switch do the old system for old content. Just saying I like it better.
I’m glad you changed his mindset about WOW and is just going to enjoy the game. You should try an RP realm if you want to enjoy the game. It brought Xaryu back to retail because it’s been that much fun to play on an RP realm.
I remember when no one knew/cared anything wow's "lore" aside from its actual world building. To me, all these stories about the characters in the wow universe are completely, utterly uninteresting. The entire premise of WoW was that it was about living in a consistent fantasy world. The early cinematics were all about "normal" elves, dwarfs, etc. living and fighting, not these superhero-like characters. With this focus on named characters, it feels more like a random singleplayer game and less like a virtual world.
There is a significant cognitive bias in your thinking because WoW lore was built on the events and characters from WC1, WC2, and WC3. WoW's world-building was based on these elements. After they had 'finished' all possible storylines, like those of Illidan in TBC, Arthas in WOTLK, and Deathwing in Cata, they had to start creating new lore to keep going. Unfortunately, everything related to the new lore was, and still is, based on the MMO world structure of power creeping, rather than on lore-driven events
TBC tells stories, WOTLK tells stories(the greatest story ever in a game), Cata tells stories, MOP is pure lore, WOD there is nothing in this garbage (except for hellfire citadel - great raid), and through the rest of the expansions the lore was more in the game, but its not like the previous ones didnt have. There’s is a timeline, and the expansions are all linked by the stories they tell us. But yeah, nowadays it’s not fun like back in time, and we don’t have to pursue an experience like that anymore because it’s literally impossible to reach it again. And I have the opinion that if wrath of the Lich King happened today, people would hate it, just because they love their past and the joy they had back in time
Sorry but i have to disagree, yes vanilla wow had much more " the world tells you the story " type of world building and guess what the world was already ready before this, we have known areas and factions and characters and what vanilla wow did was just throw us into that big world in 3d person character pov and let us explore the giant world that tells a story on it's own, this does still exist! The focus on character driven arcs and heroes doesn't mean this no longer exists, and besides character driven arcs and narratives were always a thing in warcraft 2 and 3, where you control actual heroes they have dialogue and even cinematic cutscenes, the earliest cutscene i remember is that Khadgar closing the dark portal in wc2.
This is nothing im assuming as much as he was known for this game it probably hasn’t been that long. I just logged into D3 the other day after 10 years of not playing I never even seen the Necromancer class . It was pretty cool to still have my characters.
This video is about as depressing as a documentary about the fall of Rome. Time moves on and can't be helped, but I'm glad that Asmon finds enjoyment elsewhere
Doesn’t like Classic Doesn’t like SoD Doesn’t like Hardcore Doesn’t like Private Servers Doesn’t like “Retail” Still wants to somehow play WoW. This man is genuinely insane. He doesn’t know what he wants but he knows what he doesn’t want.
That’s most of the older content creators now I’ve played since the end of TBC and I’m really excited about the direction the game is heading and many others are too. Most of these people are negative because it draws views and a mass of stupid people who don’t even play just listen to these guys.
Everyone complaining about him just running around is exactly his point. Some people can just chill and explore and cruise around. Not everyone has to grind grind grind grind work work work work parse parse parse. Enjoy the world, I know its so foreign in this game to not sweat all over your keyboard and not scream at people cause they missed a mechanic.
People are complaining because he's just running around old WoW area reminiscing on what it used to be. He's been doing this for 2 years now. Just play the game lmao he doesn't have to sweat, we just wanted him to interact with it.
He's running around reminiscing about what WoW used to be, which is a clear sign that the game doesn't interest him anymore. He's only logging in because of the new expansion, and as a content creator, it's his job to stay relevant. Asmon won't be back on this game for a long time, and the reality is he doesn't play it for a reason-it's the same reason millions of others have stopped playing. If people can't see that as a sign, I'm not sure what will convince them. You may still enjoy it, but it's clear the game isn't resonating with people anymore, even with a new expansion. The game needs a reset.

27:54 his opinion is so weird wth this isn’t the same asmon we had and I feel the real reason he quit wow is when his mom got sick and sadly passed on . Things were different after
Absolutely this. He probably reevaluated his life cause of his mom's death and his dad is really old so mortality became so apparent to him. I don't blame him, WoW is so hard on fomo that you constantly need to chase something to keep up and it never ends. And when life hits you hard you realize how vain that stuff is.
as far as blizzard makes money they simply dont care. and they discovered that they can make a lot of money by releasing parts of expansions instead of releasing the whole game from start to the end. the point where the feeling of the game gets destroyed is the fact that u grind for gear which is useless to the next part of the expansion. after u have encountered that feeling u dont want to play the game from the start anymore. u just enter the game at the end of expansion. and i totally agree with the difficulty of the game. it doesnt exist. in the past u were wearing piece of a gear and u felt good about it because of the difficulty and the effort u made in order to get it . that feeling is long gone from wow
That's how lost I felt when I played in dragonflight after quitting in early mop. Back when I was the second officer after my gm on the second best pvp guild on defias brotherhood, horde. Those were the times.
It's bait content. He can't bring himself to completely quit WoW but he also can't actually play the game. So he just rides around on a mount talking about how much he misses the "good old days"
all of his videos are the same, asmon is always repeating talking points just bending it to the topic he is watching, if you've seen 5 asmon videos you've seen his entire arsenal of content
35:55 Couldn't agree more. Once you have good gear, you know it's going to become trash soon so why bother getting gear, better spending time elsewhere.
Hey Asmon, saw Nicks vid about ur health. When ur stressed, try not being in resistance to that mental state. That's almost everyone's flaw, is trying to be relaxed. Gotta start rewiring ur brain to believe stress is good for you, and you'll find it'll take the pressure off certain areas of ur body and increase blood flow. It's ur body just getting you ready to perform and if ur exercising it'll make you even stronger. Keep streaming, thx for the content. Hope ur ok.
yup, he'll come on long enough to farm his viewers for content and be gone until the next one, it will repeat until the day that he dies or everyone gets tired of being farmed. which he must be getting close to the latter, considering he's looking for handouts from TH-cam now.
I don't know who needs to hear this but remember: it's okay to enjoy WoW, even today. TWW hype, from a retail Andy going into his 16th year of consecutive WoW sub 😂 Let's go!
i play classic to raid with my guild and i play retail to do keys with my guild mates. it’s really not as doomer as people who don’t play make it out to be
It's the popular thing right now to hate on wow mostly coming from people who are actually not playing it, they quit during a time when they were frustrated with the game and now they're forever salty.
I hadn't played Retail properly since Legion until recently, I was too overwhelmed every time I logged in after BFA/SL and DF with so many new things. When Remix came around I decided to jump on that and start a brand new character, it really helped me get back into the swing of things levelling through that and now I'm ready for The War Within on my old main.
Asmongold's constant negativity towards *World of Warcraft* is starting to feel more childish than constructive. Instead of offering real solutions, he tends to blow small issues way out of proportion, turning his complaints into attention-seeking rants. It’s like he’s more interested in feeding his own ego than actually helping the game or the community. At this point, it’s hard to take him seriously when he’s constantly trashing a game he still profits from. His behavior is coming across more like a temper tantrum than the thoughtful critique you'd expect from a community leader.
if they did a full reset on the game more ppl would quit then return to the game. if you say thats not true you clearly dont collect things in the game, items/achievs are memories to look back2
"logs in" "does nothing but run around in circles talking about how bad the game is now" I really wish you people would move on from this game for real. Notice how everyone else is actively playing the game and engaging with it instead of wallowing in past glory. MOve on
My problem is it seems like every few months upon logging in, "You're talents are reset" WoW just pisses me off with having to learn my toons all over every few months.
@@Sean-rj2ng not true. When you have several toons you enjoy, and every couple of months you have to reset the talents, move stuff around, etc. It grows old real quick. They've over complicated everything in WoW retail.
What i wished for a long time : One day they'll make your garrison the login screen and you'll be hovering around your chars on their profession buildings working or practicing their class abilities if they dont have professions. You'll be able to issue orders to them, select one and leave through the gates to join the world. Right now it's like diablo :P
WOW should add price caps like old school RuneScape has in the grand exchange so things can't be price gouged or lowered too low to make a profit. That would give people more incentive to do professions because oversaturation of it won't kill it

I'd like to see 2 difficulties. One that drops loot and one thats insanely difficult, tuned for bis gear and near optimal comps but only rewards cosmetics, mounts, etc.
i used to love this game. back when it was new and the entire world was undiscovered by everyone. running into a new thing within the world was so amazing. now when i look back on the time i spend on this game I'm ashamed at the amount of life this game has sucked from my youth.
You know I find myself coming back to wow because I loved the fantasy of some of the classes and playing dungeons or raids as a healer. But the feeling of something “new” will never be the same because you won’t get that again with the same game, most of the time
While wow has its issues for sure. The guy hasn’t played it in any scope of seriousness other than being carried in the last 2 years. Nostalgia only goes so far. He didn’t even play classic without being carried. In my opinion, his opinion on the game lost any weight for me and I don’t want to hear it anymore
I feel like 80% of the people commenting didn't even watch the videos. asmon seems pretty hopeful and decide to just having fun for next expansion insted of chasing goals or collecting all the things in a video game.
Funny thing is, I did that for that Panda expansion. I chose to only find mobs that dropped Toys. Eventually found mobs that dropped rep items too. It started a HUGE drive on the server I was playing. Everyone started to farm the items when they learned the fun to be had. Blue Turtle Shell that knocked people off mounts? Yak that hits you and runs away, one time pulling a world boss and wiping the area. 😂 Fun fun times.
>I feel like 80% of the people commenting didn't even watch the video That's literally every Asmon video for the past 4 years. Like I'm not even joking, I swear people DO NOT watch the video and just go in and comment.
the enjoyment is really only for nostalgia of all the time you spent on the game i also do it too i log back on play for days to a week then after a week I'll get bored because it's dead it's not how its used to be I'll find group get frustrated then lose interest again the cycle repeats after months it's sad but i just want to experience the excitement to play the game i used to enjoy again
Same man. Its sad to see how they have really destroyed their own game and their needs to ”add new exciting stuff” which in reality just makes the game more complex and harder for new or returning players. There is just too much in the game, it needs to be simplified.
Maybe If there was some incentive for the other crafter’s contributions to a guild raid, guild points or something, (cooking, smithing, etc.) would be more worthwhile.
The difficulty rant is so old and, at this point, stupid. He's always gotten pushback on it, and rightfully so. Yes, you don't need 4 difficulties, but having only 1 is just bad
Pvp heavy competitive games are hard. Where you playing against crazy people that don't sleep at all, in WoW 3/4 of the difficulties you just need to be able to hold your brain in your head. It's not that hard. You just need details for your ego in like 99% of the whole game.
Yeah I could never get behind getting rid of multiple difficulties. Don't get me wrong, each have their advantages, but I think having multiple difficulties is much better. One of the major complaints with SoD (Era to a lesser extent) was the parse culture, specifically because it meant gatekeeping players who weren't parsing well. This culture only exists when you have players with different ideas of how the raid should go, as that naturally causes friction since some players just want to go in blind and do the raid and don't mind wiping, and the others want to one-shot the bosses and do the best DPS possible. When you force everyone into one difficulty, you're inevitably going to have interactions between those two types of players, and it's almost always negative for the reasons I mentioned earlier. This leads to things like people checking parses/logs before you go into the raid, and naturally from that, getting denied from raids, meaning those less skilled players are gatekept and have a negative experience. This culture doesn't seem to be nearly as prevalent in retail, strangely. I've done hundreds of raids (Mostly pugged and on the most toxic difficulties, normal/heroic) and I've had my logs checked one time, and that was by a raid leader that everyone hated and left the group. It's really that simple, people joining a heroic group have similar expectations (more or less) to each other, whereas if you remove the difficulty and place them all in one raid, they don't have those.
Difficulty settings are fundamentally antithetical to good game design. Instead of relying on difficulty settings, developers can implement creative mechanisms-such as item levels or even legendaries-that naturally balance the challenge within the game.
I've liked what Season of Discovery has done overall. The runes essentially expanded classic classes to have TBC + Wrath abilities, and they added + adjusted the raid content. Its been a much better experience compared to pure Classic. As for retail? I don't even play it anymore. Little desire to get War Within either.
Let me get this straight. Asmongold, who has made his fortune off World of Warcraft, an incredible game, continually attacks the franchise and company behind calling the game essentially trash, while he makes zero effort to actually play it given that at every difficult challenge in the game he has fans that carry him, then he complains that the game is not fun anymore, continues to talk more trash about it and promises it will be the last time he plays? At this point This is incredibly unethical behavior.

Welcome to the Warbands system! Probably the best thing they have added in a while. Any class can learn any transmog now even if they cannot equip it - this is one of my favorite changes. It's good to hear that you are going to take a more relaxed approach - it is honestly much more enjoyable that way.
Jokes aside, it looks very, VERY hard for any returning player to catch up. I have played nonstop since 2017 and even I have headaches when I find everything changed or full of catch up quests and events after a major patch. I really have no idea how to make a proper new player experience at this point. They tried with Chromie Time but still understanding the whole story and how everything connects together is impossible. There's also the issue with Blizzard wanting new people to focus only in the new zones which doesn't help. I guess the anime equivalent would be trying to understand the Fate universe today lol.
maybe You take breaks, I quit AQW, played for 9 years, had my character since I was a kid, game is what, 11 or 12 years old now, something like that. also quit MapleStory, last time I played was when I recorded a video for my channel and quit Perfect World too when they introduced the rank 17 items (p2w stuff), in PW you have so many p2w aspects (it's a chinese game btw) you just can't keep up as a f2p. nowadays I play single player games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest (finished IX just yesterday, 50h gameplay, was really good), Disgaea, name a JRPG and if I haven't played it's on my list. Naruto games, fighting games, you know, mostly casual things now.
Have to clarify the dude who said you can collect everything that not your class. That’s not entirely correct. You CANNOT collect class specific pieces on any toon. It still doesn’t work. Prot didn’t get nerfed. The rebuffed dmg from threat issues and also survivability for prot is the same.
maybe because you actually have to spend more than 5 minutes worth of attention to understand it, what a shock that you cant digest 20 years of events in 5 minutes.
Because in the WoW timeline the world and or universe is nearly destroyed every 3-5 years. It's like Marvel... a comic book version of the actually good stories the lore tries to emulate. Think about LotR. Events like this are spread out over centuries/millenia.
I mean to the people in the comments, WoW is just too much lol. Need a reboot of it. People coming into the game won't stay and people who are staying have been playing a long time and complain about it anyway. You can hate on Asmon all you want, but people complain about the state of the game in every M+ grind group, every raid group, and every pvp instance group. Guild chats too. Just make a new game lol then it can have simplicity and charm again. Mounts with a 1% drop rate that are old content that you storm through each week and a 5-hour grind from 10 to max level and transmogs that take a month to farm rep for are stupid and take away from the charm.
No, bro. My friend started playing during DF, and the first thing he said is that he LOVES that the game has so many "skins" to collect. You don't need to get all the items, and that's the problem.
People complain about the game they play in every good game. That's the stamp of quality, because people care about the game deeply, that's why they're complaining.
You ever heard Madden or CoD fans complain about reskins? They sell millions of copies every year. I refuse to buy a product that has less than 60% new content added. I started WoW last year and I JUST got to Mythic raiding literally last week. If you enjoy the game instead of having this min/max mindset most MMO players have then you'd enjoy your time.
After Legion, BFA was dogshit and all I did was sub/unsub to farm some mounts waiting for the game to get better. SL happened and I realized it was never going to be great again and quit a month into it. This looks like more of the same. Can honestly say a lot of the cosmetics look really cool, but that is almost certainly the cheapskate way Blizzard is holding on to what is left of their player base. Making some flashy items is easier than making new and original gameplay. Still looks like life support to me.
@@retrogeko7955 Nope. Nothing looked exciting to me. Bare bones, some QoL, dragon riding is moderately interesting but nothing noteworthy. The scumbag stuff, like on time access, increased base price, etc. is enough to turn me away for sure. If they wanna do that crap, they better have the game to back it up, otherwise, there are better options for my time.
Made the same decision about playing wow, as you. Best decision ever. Having so much fun playing wow and still collect my mounts, pets etc., just not as hardcore as before.
Nailed it at 31 mins for me. As soon as you feel obligated to play a game to stay relevant in-game it evolves from a fun game to a chore or work simulator IMHO. Made the same choice around 2010, backed away from MMORPG's for maybe 2 years, and it fully rekindled my love and enjoyment of gaming, including the genre itself, but I'm 110% casual now days. No-lifing was a teenage phase for myself personally.
I started playing WoW in 2005. I played all the way into BFA, then i left. I Came back for the re-launch of Vanilla, enjoyed TBC and excelled (again) in WOTLK. I had so much fun… After that i did Hardcore, I did SoD and i tried Cata for a few months. I quit the the game this last may, probably forever. I’m 48 now and probably will never play the game again. But the game will never leave me. I will never forget the fun i had and the friends i made. WoW is and always wil be a part of me.
“Why I logged into WoW” to walk, fly around for 2 hours and complain about the game because I’m a hater and no one can be happy if I am not happy. I have summed the video up.
Can we briefly criticize the fact that Blizzard offers an expansion for 50 euros without playing time. So I have to spend at least 63 euros to play the expansion. For a 20 year old game. Shit, I'm glad WOW never got me hooked. I already thought with Metin2 I would have left a lot of money there, but playing WOW for several years takes a different amount of money. Why does this stupid subscription crap always come from America? The same in IRacing....absurd how people seriously play a game where you can only play if you buy a subscription. Shit I hope Microsoft will change things at blizzard regarding monitarization.
You see kido, boomers creamed their pants over this game 20years ago when it was the best and they never grew out of it. They only played one game their entire life and they think paying $200/year to play a 5/10 game with a cash shop is how it should be.
Last time I logged in was in Legion lol. I have no idea what is going on in the game right now. It seems like I would be be forever behind if I started playing again.
It is a good time to come back to WoW if you're a veteran player. There's so much shit in this game to explore and collect your only issue in the game is trying to choose a path and to stay on course. They even have AI team mates for dungeons to help ease you into doing public ones.
This is what I hate about current wow, if you miss a year.. you miss an entire expansion and you'll never experience it.. In Gw2 you could miss 5-10 years and still go back to experience it all as current content.
You don't really "miss" anything. Every expansion is exactly the same in its core. You level up, you gear up, you get to know and understand the new gatekeeping system, you do dungeons, you do the same dungeons again but enemies have more HP, you do the same dungeons over and over again but on a timer now. You do the raid, you do the raid again but enemies have more HP and a couple more moves, you do the raid again but now enemies really hurt. You fill bars and collect boxes and every reset you get your piece of gear that's probably useless but you keep chasing the carrot anyway cause you never know, maybe next week you'll be lucky. And if you get bored of all of that, you can do pet battles and collect useless mounts and other crap that you'll likely never really use. The actual new content is limited to a shitty story they never completely tell so you are lost anyway and the questtexts no one actually reads cause there is no time to do it. Maybe they add a new mode here and there but eventually people learn these actually suck and are more annoying than fun after which they are abandoned collectively. That's World of Warcraft - every expansion since Legion.
@@Connoisseur7184 And that's what I hate about current wow, the gear lasts for a week until you're stressing out in Mythic + 20 trying to get the same piece with 1% better stats. Just not at all fun, I like having gear and having it last. But the missing part is more missing the quality raid content/the dungeons.. Like I'm no fan of current wow, but that content is still great imo the raids have never been bad.

Unfortunately, everything related to the new lore was, and still is, based on the MMO world structure of power creeping, rather than on lore-driven events
except when those characters have fought off Death, the Devil and everything in-between, those survivors BECOME Superheroes.
And I have the opinion that if wrath of the Lich King happened today, people would hate it, just because they love their past and the joy they had back in time
Yes dude! Those were the days, just kids running around having fun.
It was pretty cool to still have my characters.

as far as blizzard makes money they simply dont care. and they discovered that they can make a lot of money by releasing parts of expansions instead of releasing the whole game from start to the end. the point where the feeling of the game gets destroyed is the fact that u grind for gear which is useless to the next part of the expansion. after u have encountered that feeling u dont want to play the game from the start anymore. u just enter the game at the end of expansion. and i totally agree with the difficulty of the game. it doesnt exist. in the past u were wearing piece of a gear and u felt good about it because of the difficulty and the effort u made in order to get it . that feeling is long gone from wow

Yeah raiding was nevr for casual players. Good thing about wow now is loads of things for casuals to do outside of raiding.
@okiv99 the good thing about wow now is that t you can raid as a casual. The 4 difficult methods are great to separate bad casuals from good players
Notice how they say and show NOTHING of The Jailer in the recap in the beginning when you first log in.

I guess the anime equivalent would be trying to understand the Fate universe today lol.

also quit MapleStory, last time I played was when I recorded a video for my channel and quit Perfect World too when they introduced the rank 17 items (p2w stuff), in PW you have so many p2w aspects (it's a chinese game btw) you just can't keep up as a f2p.
nowadays I play single player games like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest (finished IX just yesterday, 50h gameplay, was really good), Disgaea, name a JRPG and if I haven't played it's on my list.

The plot is more scattered than a 5 minutes long recap of all of One Piece.
maybe because you actually have to spend more than 5 minutes worth of attention to understand it, what a shock that you cant digest 20 years of events in 5 minutes.
Because in the WoW timeline the world and or universe is nearly destroyed every 3-5 years. It's like Marvel... a comic book version of the actually good stories the lore tries to emulate.
Think about LotR. Events like this are spread out over centuries/millenia.
Once a WoW addict, always a WoW addict
DF was great. Did you not play it?
@@retrogeko7955 Nope. Nothing looked exciting to me. Bare bones, some QoL, dragon riding is moderately interesting but nothing noteworthy. The scumbag stuff, like on time access, increased base price, etc. is enough to turn me away for sure. Made the same decision about playing wow, as you. Best decision ever. Having so much fun playing wow and still collect my mounts, pets etc., just not as hardcore as before.

+1 for streamlining the game, its overwhelming.
Okay nerd
Asmon with L takes on wow like usual the washed up scrub
Behind in what way? Gear gets "reset' every season, and with a new expansion coming out it's the best time since everyone is on an even playing field.
@@bneva123 lore, game systems etc.
It is a good time to come back to WoW if you're a veteran player. There's so much shit in this game to explore and collect your only issue in the game is trying to choose a path and to stay on course. They even have AI team mates for dungeons to help ease you into doing public ones.
This comment section is full of people who hate ther life and now want to spread it everywhere 😢😂
And that's what I love about gw2 now, I can play the raids from years ago and they're still current content due to progression system.
@@Connoisseur7184 Perfect summary. I am a major WoW enjoyer to a fault but people who aggressively defend retail Wow are legitimately delusional or more often just have bad taste and a lack of regard for their own time. I miss WoW Asmon but he is 1000% right. The only correct way to play retail is to fuck around to kill some time. Occasionally.
Yeah, the worst are these "farm this stuff to get the special transmog+toy" things they put out and you'll never be able to get ahead of it all (if you have a job)
thats what i love about current wow,the easy pick up and play whenever, starting classic now is a nightmare i wouldnt wish on my worst enemies, also nothing gets deleted lol,in gw2 it got DELETED stop lying, you can still do all the raids

Resubbed to try out retail and less than a week of casual play I found myself on classic leveling an alt. This story is more common than you think.
Last time I logged in I found out all my characters are gone. I tried explaining I did had characters and now they are gone. People kept telling me I need to enter the servers and then I will find them ... well they are not there any more.
