Zaeed even mentioned his old reliable rifle jammed after he did such a thing. The most skilled were screwed, but the fearful had a semi chance for once. Take it how you will I suppose.
@@Norinia mass effect 1 had infinite ammo, your gun could over heat and not be usable for a few seconds. mass effect two introduced the disposable heat sinks. which you could not fire the gun without.
@@maddslothii2532 that’s what I meant. They overheat and jam. Infinite ammo would mean significantly less over heat than the original guns had (heck, I remember a pistol that overheated in less that a couple shots) What they should have done was fuse the systems, where thermal clips could be used for faster fire, but you could still fire the guns if you needed to, and could wait for in cases of overheat. My comment specifically mentioned my argument against it. Most people would freak in a war like this. They would hold triggers without release, or they wouldn’t stop firing and screaming. The guns would overheat or jam, and they’d be just as screwed with the overheat system as they are with the thermal clips.
@@Norinia agreed a hybrid system would have been the logical choice for a military with a galaxy long supply line, but they wanted to add "finding ammo" in to the game. as for over heating that was simple management and keeping an eye on your weapon, so long as you did that you could fire endlessly. the Specter rifle with some of the best could literally fire non stop and never over heat or take like 2 minutes of continues fire (I can't remember witch). I don't recall any Jamming, but thermal clips make it more likely a person with no trigger discipline will exhaust their 'ammo' supply. that is the worst thing about this, the actual ammo is still effectively infinite, but you can not longer use it without thermal clips. www.reddit.com/r/masseffect/comments/1l3ggq/infinite_ammo_vs_thermal_clips_why_exactly_did_we/ gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/995487-mass-effect-3/61983225
Also, Ammo wasn't infinite. The "bullets" are shaved off of a solid block and then fired using mass effect fields. Each bullet you fire is the size of a grain of sand. While they last a long time, they do eventually run out. Just as Wrex when he fought Aria/Aleena on that Pirate space station.

i actually prefered the original ending. I like it vague, then i can use my imagination to fill in the blanks. In my canon ending (without DLC ending), I chose Control ending. Shepard takes over the Reapers as their new AI... Shepard commands the Reapers to disengage and exit the system, ending the Reaper war. .... No final words whatever, just leave, just like that. Mission to protect life in Milky Way galaxy is done. AI Reaper SHepard is bored now and is on the way to invade another galaxy, maybe Andromeda. i love this ending.
this sequence was the first time I cried while playing a game, more specifically the part where you leave earth. I was 14 when I played this, and honestly, I told my little brother not to play this game until he grew older. Not because the ending sucked, but because I didn't think the emotional weight of having to leave your own planet while it's dying was too much for anyone who wasn't the appropriate age on the cover.
"Cavalry's here, gentlemen!" Cue "Normandy Reborn" Amazing how even in this scene we get such an uplifting moment. Of course, then we get "Leaving Earth"...
Damn, that Reaper crashing down at 13:24 is just massive. To be honest, I didn't really see a way the universe was going to be able to beat them in any way at all.
13:58 The dreadnought that gets destroyed was one of 9 constructed by the Systems Alliance. Consider how massive of a loss that is given how few humanity actually possessed.
13:47 I don’t know who the madlad captain of that Dreadnought was, but God fucking bless his crazy ass and his crew for going down swinging. Never compromise, even in the face of Armageddon.
The sound of the reapers, that’s what always gets me, sends chills down my spine, imagine skyscrapers coming down to you with those sounds and then seeing it obliterate your block, fucking horrible
This was the fucking best way to give the midlle finger to the people who don´t believe in the Reapers like the Asari, 2 games in that Shepard save 2 times the galaxy and only the protagonist friends believe in th reapers. The scene is very cool, like independence day, all humand forces been destroyd, and if you play the first 2, you know what takes a shuttle or a humand soldier in full armour to be killed, and we see all destroy, the skycraper falling, and well the PTSD of the explosion of the Alliance Heardquarter, killing all of the superior officers and the best of Humanity in a couple of shoots. But the Alliance Heardquarter is in UK, London and London is fine at first, and then we see the horror in multiple places in Earth, and we see soo much people are in hall, all died, the defense of the orbit above London was strong or the Reapers tarjet last the Main Heardquarter and Shepard. And Anderson takes the leadership because all of the rest died in the first attacks and now there is no politics to work with, is harcore war in Earth. But yeah Anderson is king.
I was pure soldier all 3 games and not having any biotics like you made this hell! I’m trying to conserve Ammo and use everything I can. I ran out of Ammo right when the Normandy came in.
it's funny how it takes the Reapers faster to get from the Moon to England than in does for them to get from England to the US or wherever Shepard is right now
Long time back, but still hits like a brick to the face. I've watched DOZENS of sci-fi that didn't come anywhere near the Lovecraftian TERROR that this game's opening made me feel. Course I was a teenager alone in the house for the whole weekend, so that didn't help, but I had the stereo output on the games audio THROUGH THE ROOF (no neighbors, just corn) so uh.... lol that didn't help either. "BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>"
That's what always gets me. There seems to be two definitive reaper classes. The smaller more agile variant, and the full on Sovereign class dreadnought. You never openly face a Sovereign class reaper, why? Because there's likely not a single thing you could do to it and it would utterly push your shit in, and I love that. Hell, back in ME 1 it took basically every available ship of *every* species to even make it vulnerable. The fact that pretty much 80% of the reapers in this opening sequence are Sovereign class vessel's just shows you one thing, humanity is about to gonna get annihilated.
When at 11:09 Shepard met that kid, that he/she always sees in his/her dreams, you can hear an alternate version of "Leaving Earth", which only plays during this scene.
Whatever people say about the ending, the intro was pure poetry. That end sequence where the boy climbs on the shuttle and immediately gets blown up... the swelling music... the destruction in orbit... damn. I really think that when they put this demo together, they hadn't yet decided what to do with the boy--whether he was real or not, whether Shepard was starting to be indoctrinated or not. They knew it would be emotionally compelling and give viewers a personal stake, and they thought it would be more interesting if it was ambiguous whether he existed (no one helps him into the shuttle). I sort of wish they'd gone with a "indoctrination" storyline, just because it'd have been mind-bending as heck.
While ME3 does have it shortfalls, you can't deny that it does put more effort into the character of Shepard. It is nice that you can fit the personality of Shepard to whatever you want, but with the past two games he/she just feels like a drone you're operating; an empty shell with no real uniqueness to him/her. But with ME3 he/she stands out a lot more, like you can see them more distinctively as an individual and you could actually describe them
Haha good ol' corporations, let's get music pulled because we are losing imaginary money. Sure wouldn't want to get free promotion for your products...... [Idiots]
I've beaten ME1,ME2 and ME3 so many time and just recently got platinum on the PS5 legendary edition...its so good every time I do a playthrough it's luie playing a new game again...this scene 21:00 I think hit me the hardest out of all 3...
I was late to the party, so I only ever played the revised Complete Edition, so to me Mass Effect 3 was a triumph, a masterpiece of science fiction storytelling. It's one of the few games whose narrative stuck with me long after the credits rolled. Wonderful game, and I hope the Mass Effect franchise reaches these heights of storytelling again.

Maybe they thought there wasn't any point since the Reapers where making such a commotion that nobody could ignore them?

You have to be heartless not to cash the 100
Credits it takes for the quest so everyone can eat some nice meals.
@@Norinia 100 dollars though... That better be some great quality meals an top notch cooking.. Hope Gordon Ramsey makes a cameo to help cook it in the remaster
Actually, all things considered, 100 creds would be cheap AF for food. Feeding 30-50 people, including two dextros good quality food on only a 100 creds is a steal. Especially when you consider that Traynor's tooth brush costs 6000 creds.
Forgot something yall... All them deluxe models Shep buys through out the galaxy... It quite an expensive an big collection
I still find it kind of cool that TH-cam can filter out the music and leave the audio in.
That may be the game settings. Most games, including the Mass Effect Series, let's you set individual volume levels. I tend to lower the BGM volume quite a bit for most games.
ME1 will always be my favorite but good Lord this intro hit heavy. Especially after the last two games.
6:27 - 6:34 Best 7 seconds in the damn trilogy.
The anguish you see in Shepards face...the whole end sequence is very emotional and compelling.
Seeing the child in peril combined with that brilliant score was very powerful. Really made you care about the games story
I know this is late..but the game is great. The story is amazing, the end was messed up. But like jclc said. They released an extended cut DLC. Honestly, after that I had no problem at all with the ending. I was at peace with it.

i actually prefered the original ending.
@@BS-rm1hv still want to vote the confused dementia patient in
Damn... without music is very creppy that ending... :(
TH-cam....
this sequence was the first time I cried while playing a game, more specifically the part where you leave earth. I was 14 when I played this, and honestly, I told my little brother not to play this game until he grew older. Not because the ending sucked, but because I didn't think the emotional weight of having to leave your own planet while it's dying was too much for anyone who wasn't the appropriate age on the cover.
This makes me wanna play the game again
The second I saw the reapers on earth, my immediate reaction was 'Oh...oh shit!"
14:00 So, a dreadnought huh? A ship that supposedly CANNOT go into atmospheric conditions and is restricted to space.
Desperate times calls for desperate measures
Too bad desperate measures DIDNT work.
Look, there's no time!
That looks like a cruiser a dreadnought is way bigger that that and has a larger main gun. I think ashley was in space.
Considering it never once fired it's main gun, it was probably gutted and being retrofitted on Earth just like the Normandy.
"We were hoping you would tell us."
Shepard: "Bitch I told you so."
And that ladys and gentlemen is the intro of the best game of the world
"Cavalry's here, gentlemen!" Cue "Normandy Reborn"
Amazing how even in this scene we get such an uplifting moment. Of course, then we get "Leaving Earth"...
Yeah. That part at the end, where the Reapers land and the Normandy is leaving the planet while flaming debris falls down, is just brutal.
The M8-Avenger still after all these years makes one of the most satisfying sounds I’ve ever heard.
I spent days trying to stop this
Am I the only one who just played with soldier shepherd no powers???
nope, on medium difficulty, i did
Nah, my first try I played like that too because I didn't know I could use powers.
Yeah me. I just liked shooting. Didn’t really understand how to use powers effectively.
Damn, that Reaper crashing down at 13:24 is just massive. To be honest, I didn't really see a way the universe was going to be able to beat them in any way at all.
True, might have gotten some inspiration from The War of The Worlds.
Anderson sounds like sgt Johnson or the arbiter off halo
+coopermax1 both voiced by Kieth David
oh ok thanks for telling
commander zavala
+Brewster Million nah zavala isn't voiced by him
It's the arbiter too I think.
The sound of sovereign is impossible to shake
13:58 The dreadnought that gets destroyed was one of 9 constructed by the Systems Alliance. Consider how massive of a loss that is given how few humanity actually possessed.
I remember playing this for the first time..... Man I wish I felt something like this again.
God, Who else remembers the hype?!
SO much hype. My friend saw the trailer and was like "THEY HAVE GETH AND QUARIAN SHIPS FIGHTING TOGETHER!" And then this demo. Holy crap.
Had the goosebumps when I seen that opening for the first time 😅 still do to this day 💯
13:29 ahhh yea love that sound
This whole scene is a middle finger to the council. Look what you could've stopped if you had to have fucking listened to Shepard!!
All the trilogy is a direct middle finger to politicians
They released a free "Extended Cut DLC" that complements and fixes some of the problems with the endings. With that, it's not so bad.
13:58 is astonishing
21:20 I was like "No... don't you dare... ohh... no..."
And that music.
I felt like whole galaxy was at the edge of the extiction for real.
That moment when they realize Shepard was right about his Reapers theory all along gives me goosebumps
I need more dammit it’s 2018 and I’m dying for more. Andromeda need more and they need to remaster this trilogy ASAP I’m not joking come on already
Your wish has been granted
@@OhYouMusty Only three more weeks!
@@NathanMUFCfan The hype is real!
Mass effect 2 had the most epic opening ever.Shepard had his ship destroyed and he got lost into space
time to play this masterpiece trilogy once again.
Damn, i can’t wait to see this remade in mass effect legendary edition, gonna be epic!
Its IF they remaster the whole series what they do at the end with the 3rd game, this one's last battle that has room to make this game LEGENDARY
7:15 imagine hearing that while chilling in your house
This opening always makes me emotional!
I was pure soldier all 3 games and not having any biotics like you made this hell! I’m trying to conserve Ammo and use everything I can. I ran out of Ammo right when the Normandy came in.
Capt Kirrehe: "Hold the Line! Hold the Line!!"
it's funny how it takes the Reapers faster to get from the Moon to England than in does for them to get from England to the US or wherever Shepard is right now
This and god of war 3 had the best opening sequences ever
Look at that sovereign class reaper dreadnought, it's epic strong.
Gotta admit its quite fulfilling an a great arc though.. after ALL shep went through jist to get to the series. THEN through to the end..
[Idiots]
Not really idiots. If you don't defend a copyright, you lose it. Blame the politicians, not the corps for this 1.
This was a good game for its time
This citadel reminds me Star Trek Into the darkness
Jesus...I know what's going to happen and I'm still frikin anxious!!!
I just love that horn, sounds almost like the tripods though.
I've beaten ME1,ME2 and ME3 so many time and just recently got platinum on the PS5 legendary edition...its so good every time I do a playthrough it's luie playing a new game again...this scene 21:00 I think hit me the hardest out of all 3...
Rage against the dying of the light!
seeing those reapers in the background gives me chills everytime
goosebumps, everytime

I was late to the party, so I only ever played the revised Complete Edition, so to me Mass Effect 3 was a triumph, a masterpiece of science fiction storytelling. It's one of the few games whose narrative stuck with me long after the credits rolled. Wonderful game, and I hope the Mass Effect franchise reaches these heights of storytelling again.
i hope you played the previous games first
Huh. Anybody else get the feeling that something like this is going to happen with Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire? I mean, with the White Walkers/The Others and the wights and the whole "Winter is coming" thing?
Man this just aged like fine milk didn't it.
@@SeanstonVA ...Yup. Like fine milk sitting behind a hot radiator.
Oh the memories.
Lol at 18:00 3 of them lined up for like 3 seconds and he didn't use his biotic.... Not very efficient
this one would be happy to live through this more than watching our own kind kill itself with time, fear and war.
Lance Henrikson is a LEGEND! Great voice acting!
8:09 Anderson: Shepard, I've already checked, he doesn't have his wallet with him.
