  • I lived in my Double Decker RV for one month (October 2023) in Austria, and I learned quite a lot from that trip. I wanted to remember these experiences and wanted to share them with you too, therefore I made this video.
    (I disabled those annoying mid-roll ads for this video - you can thank me for that.. I can't disable the non-skippable video ads anymore, otherwise I would have done so, as I have in most of my previous videos. :-)

    Very useful information. Neither I have an RV nor I'm in a place suitable for it but I enjoyed gaining knowledge from your experience.

    The another useful video about your bus, I was wondering about how it will do if you'll live in it for months...
    Finally you came to solar panels too🙂
    Thank you Ron, and waiting for news!

    I remember watching several videos of yours years ago, building that thing. In the beginning of my 'camper phase'. It's kinda unforgettable 😅
    Glad to see, you're still out and about! I wouldn't have the nerve, to drive something that big, but I sure would love the space and comfort!

    So happy to hear from you again. I wondered how practical it would be to travel Europe in such a huge RV.

      To be honest... in spite of being away with it earlier, only this time I got a good impression of how it really is. There are just plenty of places you can go to, and most roads are made for 12 meter vehicles. Restrictions on weight, height or length are rare. That doesn't go for campsites, those often have a limit of about 8 meters... It helped that I traveled in October, it is really quiet by then.

    Man, you're awesome! I simply admire you.
    BTW, a similar model of this bus (Neoplan Skyliner N122) was in service in Israel starting from late 80' till early 00'. It was a great pleasure traveling with it.

      Thank you. This was in the month October that I was in Austria, but yes, even for October it was exceptional warm. There were days it was 25 degrees.

    nice to see you having a solar, but i hope you really fix it in place, the solar panel is quite heavy, needs some bolt to fix it on the roof

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I glued them with alu-strips onto the roof. They lay each on three rectangular strips, and are bolted onto L-shaped strips at the short side. I fitted four extra mounts to hold them on the long side too. I got me some expert-advice on the glue, and used everything they told me to; sand paper, professional cleaner, primer, glue, and another, extra glue to protect the glue from UV-radiation. I was scared to use only glue, but as I saw how strong this stuff is... I am truly confident now that they won't get blown off. The glue is some special glue that is used in the automotive industry..

    I would like to ask. Would you split gray water and blackwater again or treat both as blackwater and be done with it? For me personally I think I would go only blackwater and get rid of it any chance I get.

    • @Onrust1
      @Onrust1  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Good question. I already said in an earlier video, that i would go for a composting toilet next time, that saves water and the space of the black water tank. In my bus it made sense to do grey and black separate, because there was not enough space for one big tank. But otherwise there is no need for two separate tanks, yes. Dumping whenever you can is a good idea anyhow, because particles in black water tanks tend to flow slowly down, and might clog the outlet pipe. Once we did over a month with our tank, and it happened to us.. you don't want to, I can tell you.. 😁

      Not an app, just a website. And not tunnels or the height of the bus, but only for seeing how steep the hills and mountains are. You can put in a route, and it shows it to you: climbfinder.com/de
