  • A quirky town full of dramatic history and swashbuckling tales! Copenhagen is one of the most unique cities in Europe with its colorful houses, delicious food (no really they have the highest number of Michelin Star Restaurants per capita just behind Japan), and the special spices of the free town of Christiana it really is not something to miss. Come with me as I show you the most unique things to see in Copenhagen Denmark. I'll also give you some great tips on saving money while visiting - it isn't known as the most budget friendly town, so you'll want to watch this one if you plan on visiting for sure!

    A small correction.
    Christiania was started in 1971.
The place used to be a navy property but was taken over by the hippies in 1971.
Due to quite a lot of violence and recent murders, Pusher Street is in the process of being closed down. Even the normal inhabitants of Christiania have had enough of the gangs running Pusher Street.
    A few bits of history.
The lakes in Tivoli Gardens and Botanic Garden are actually remnants of the moat that surrounded Copenhagen up to the mid 1850s. The last part of the original fortifications were removed in the 1880s.
The place where Superkilen Park is located today once had train tracks going through the location. These were finally removed in the beginning of the 1930s.
