You took the words out of my mouth. His last scene made me cry. That was my first time crying in a movie theatre. These indian children are natural born stars. I am so happy for Sunny and his new found success. I am going to keep an eye out for his next film.
I've just saw the film, and this little boy probably the greatest child actor I've ever seen. His performance was so natural, so touching. I've cried my eyes out.

For me, what was wonderful to see was the fact that he is in the movie for the first 53 minutes! After I saw the trailer, I thought he would have a small role, perhaps 10 minutes or so. But to see him in essentially half the film, was really amazing. It actually borders on being a lead role . . . if you think about it.
CanadaQBank. I know right I thought he would be in it up until he gets lost and then they would use different actors as he grows up but he was in it for almost half the whole movie and was amazing
A mother lost two sons that night how can you not feel for this story of a mother and her sons and the performance of this little boy is nothing short of amazing!!
The other part of the heartbreaking story is that when she lost two of her four children, she had enough money to send the other two to school. The loss of Saroo and Guddu made their sibling’s life more prosperous. 😭
I can't imagine how hard it was for their mother. In the space of a night, her oldest son was dead and her other son missing. For 25 years she would have been harassed with thoughts about what actually had happened to Saroo. I'm really glad that she finally found out that he'd been found and raised by good people - this movie shows how evil some adults can be.
The scene where he was screaming and searching for Guddu is just incredible. You could hear the panic and emotions Saroo went through in that moment and the way he portrayed it so accurately is insanely good for a six year old. Sunny did a better job than a lot of adult actors who went to an acting school. Such a talented kid
I casually clicked on the movie, thinking, "Oh this looks interesting. I'll give it a whirl." Now, I can't stop thinking about this movie!!! Sunny's realistic acting, his adorable voice, the way he ran!! I love everything about him and his big sweet brother Guddu!! I have even taken to calling my dog, "achchha bachcha," (good boy).
He is such a cutie! I thought the interviewer did a great job too, making little Sunny comfortable and just being really lovely throughout. This was a delight to watch
I have legitimately never cried so much watching a movie. From the beginning to the end. This movie nearly mirrored my childhood except the running away from child capturues. I was born in Romania is the 90's where there was a huge percentage of unwanted children in train stations. I live there until I was 5 and was brought in a car to a children home where I was that year adopted to a Irish family which was unusual because I a lot of parents wanted newborns. I didn't know any English, and was literally starting to learn about escalators in airports, televisions, etc. I integrated very well the first year and was very excited about the whole thing. My sister who was also adopted from Russia two years later found it very hard the first years but is now fine. And I also graduated from a degree in Bachelor of Honours in Hotel Management which completely surprised me with similarly to the film. The reason why I feel so passionate is because this movie portrayed an essence of stories that are not being told enough. The cast was absolutely phenomenal and the movie was heart wrenching. Probably nobody is going to read all of this because it's like a thesis lol. Kudos to everyone in this film!!!
You touch on something I also thought right from the beginning: that must be a fate that happens to many children and it’s an issue that so far wasn’t talked about a lot. Also all the orphaned or displaced children in war zones! I was deeply touched by this movie!
