  • The ABC Workout | Full Body Workout With Tim Kennedy
    Fitness is the foundation for everything you do in life. The ABC workout is one of my favorites because it covers cardio, strength, muscle endurance and it also gives you a little gut check. Before any workout, it's important to start with a warmup. Here we started with an EMOM:
    5 Supine Row
    5 Squats
    5 Lunges
    5 Push-ups
    2 Burpees
    Then we go straight into our ABC Workout
    A1: Pull-Ups
    A2: MB Get-Ups
    A3: Row 200m
    Do 10 of each 5 times.
    2 Minutes of Rest
    B1: Snatches
    B2: Toes-2-Bar
    B3: Bike for 15cals
    Do 10 of each 4 times.
    Rest 2 minutes
    C1: Deadlift
    C2: Burpees
    C3: Run
    Do 10 of each 3 times.

    Tim, i tried your ABC workout. I have been an athlete and martial artist all my life and have weightlifted all my life as well. I did a modified version based on what i have in my home gym and i got through the warm up and 3 rounds of A and B. Thank you for waking me up to just how out of shape I am!!

    I really like this one. I wish I could have been there to try to keep up with you guys, that gym set up is NICE!
    also, your how to fight videos looked so much like some of the practices I was going to before covid scared everyone away. this is a great reminder to get at it solo so I don't get too fat and lazy.

      Hey I give credit for working out. But yeah I hate poor technique, Tim is too much of an alpha to be humbled by strict pull ups.

    Would be interesting to know 'when' you fit these workouts in. Do you train BJJ before or after or is it on off days? How often do you do this type of training also? Is it a supplement to heavy weight training or is it stand alone? How much recovery do you do? Lots of questions I know! Btw thanks for videos like this. What a resource.

    Try the card deck workout.
    You take a deck of cards and assign each suit to one workout (ex. spades: push-ups, clubs: squats, hearts: pull-ups, diamonds: sit-ups). You do the amount of reps according to the number on the card. Face cards count as 15 and aces count as 20.

    Do both...more workouts and more fighting. Could you do workouts that are specific to improving various skills in martial arts? (Workout to improve punching, kicking, grappling, throwing...)

    So talk about doing this with a bulged disc in lower back . Im having a difficult time in the gym with it. I go this Tuesday for a block so hopefully that holds it off for a while

      How old is the injury? If it just happened I'd work static holds, tempo lifts, and good long warm ups. No dynamic lifts. If it's old, then just work on slowly gaining strength because the stronger you are the less pain you'll have. I broke my back and herniated 3 dics in the process of breaking it when I was in the army. I take my good days with my bad, but on good days I can deadlift over 600lbs. Sometimes it's helps me to not stand all the way up on deadlifts, on my bad back days. Lastly, start rolling out and digging into all the muscles that put extra stress on the back like hamstrings, QL, hip flexors, and your ass. Good luck and don't give up on your fitness!
