Great to see you again Tanya! It's crazy here in Canada. States of emergency declared. No foreigners (except Americans) can come into our country. Can't find any toilet paper.

In the UK we had 10 deaths today attributed to the virus, making a total of over 20 to date. This sudden increase brought down a flight ban by the US. Just for comparison,. 17000 people die annually in England with the cause attributed to flu according to our national statistics. No schools have closed yet unlike many other countries. A ban on large meetings is expected soon and some sports organisations have cancelled events on their own authority (not directed by the Government). We are also told that we should expect to get infected at some point as there is no defence against it. So isolation is really just delaying things to spread the impact on the health services. The good news is that the number of cases in China has dropped dramatically which is not what you expect to happen in a pandemic.

Hopefully Russia is doing more testing because nothing is coming out of Russia about how they are handling the virus situation.

Don't mess with Babushkas, they will put a curse on you! There is a few cases of Coronavirus in Alabama but just hang in there and do the best you can, get plenty of sleep, drink fluids, eat oranges for vitamin C and keep the cows fed. My cows have some new babies, I like to watch them run and play.

Doctors here, in my country, say that Corona virus IS a common cold. A young man who was ill and is now healthy said that this Corona stuff is like a cold, nothing else. Why so much panic? Why are people so afraid?

Check the mortality rate. Lots of people died unnecessarily. Stay safe and stay home for a few weeks. It's the least we can do for our immuno-compromised friends.

    Hi Tanya,
Thank you for your update. I hope the changes in your life will prove to be more positive.
Russia is ahead of the US in testing and figuring it out. Many other countries are ahead of the US. It is about being prepared and the leadership. Everyone can see how unprepared and ineffectual US is now.
We have at least 1200 confirmed cases and about 40 deaths reported. (We do not know what the real numbers are as our government will not allow that information). US has the same quarantine laws as Russia.
Part of the problem here is that everybody is panicking because we don't have good information and don't know what to trust. There is a lot of bad information being said about it. The current behavior of the leadership and most of the people are making things worse. People are hoarding food and supplies that make no sense, such as toilet paper. Some people are saying the virus is a hoax cooked up by a political party. US own President is blaming it on the President before him. Leadership is lying all the time as well. They say there are tests, but there are no tests.
There is also price gouging going on. Also people are buying everyday supplies and trying to charge very high price for people who need to buy it.
We are also not doing testing for the virus. The whole US averages less than 100 tests per day. On the other hand, countries like South Korea are averaging at least 20,000 tests per day!
The US also as of 2017 no longer has an infectious disease office, which is also a problem making the US unprepared. Leadership knew about the virus at end of December like Russians did, but decided to do nothing.
By the way, non-infected people wearing masks does not really help. The infected people are the ones who need to wear the masks.
Also, from CDC (US Centers for Disease Control, which is different from the pandemic office) says that the virus can live up to 9 days on surfaces such as counter tops, metal, plastic and other hard surfaces, but they found that any dish soap or soap with a detergent and surfactant in it kills the virus instantly. They recommend cleaning all such surfaces with that.

Things in Pennsylvania, USA have just begun to get underway with school and event closures as well as many common items sold out at stores. I personally do not know of anyone sick with this yet.

8:20 "pharmacies should not raise the price of masks"
Then they wont have any in stock because someone decided to buy them all for themselves or to scalp them. Whereas if the price goes up then the pharmacies have the money to order more and expedite the shipping and the manufacturer is incentivised to increase production.

Thanks for the update! It's good to hear the productive and rational reaction in your commentary. You presented it in a way that I found calming and refreshing, amid all of the panic and fear mongering over here. And, the "Babushka's Magic" gave me a good laugh, as well! I hope all is well with you and your family. Peace!

I like the remix of the Michael Jackson song “Rock With You” being played in the background at the club
