Beaches here are closed. Many people here are wearing masks. We are under a "stay at home" order but still can go to the grocery store for food. Good for you on helping the Old People ))

Quarantine is about same in Alabama but no fine for being out. That is very kind of you to help get food for older people, the virus can be deadly to them more than younger people. Some stores here you order on line and store deliver but you need credit card.

I'm living in Sweden and we went a different way then most countries. First of all, our politicians does not have the power to overrule subject experts. And for extremes measures like quarantine to be taken there has to be a national emergency. And for a national emergency to be called there has to be a threat to the nation like a war, or a sickness way worse then this.
Also swedes tend to be very obedient, when the government advises something we mostly comply because we trust them. And there has been a lot of advice. And even a few minor rules put in place, like no gatherings above 50 people. There are also some rules about visits to care facilities to protect 70+ population and people with illness that makes them subjects to getting the bad version of C-19.
Universities and high-school also switched over to internet classes. but all other schools are still open. (but on Easter break now) Apart from that many companies have decided that if possible their staff work from home. Most (90%) follow the advice to stay at home unless we go to stores, and to wash our hands and keep our heads cool.
Apart from that life is pretty much the same, stores are well stocked in all but toilet paper and rubbing alcohol.
The intensive care units in larger city hospitals have been under some pressure, but not all filled up so far. And there is warnings about protective equipment running out. Restaurants, hotels, airlines and some non supermarket stores are having a hard time, but there is economic help packages for them.
Public service media is taking a big responsibility in being factual and fighting the other media that has lost their heads and got stuck in some kind of "lets make everyone panic" mode.
In no way is it very bad here and no one is in any panic. No matter what the USA president says =)
I'm part of a civil defence organisation that are based in different municipalities to help out when there are extraordinary events, like forest fires and floods. And in some cities we have been activated. Mostly working with informing the public, but also with helping elderly with food runs (like your great initiative!), and other tasks that would put them at risk. In my municipality we have not yet been fully activated but the plans are in place and routines set up in case we are called. So far things are looking very good, even the number of dead are not as bad as expected.
Right now we know very little about the virus and the testing and numbers are very hard to use for anything. Most people do not get any symptoms at all and every day scientists find out that the virus is much more contagious then they thought. So in my opinion there is no way at all to stop the spread of the virus, just slow it down. Last week they tested all the people working in a department hospital here in sweden and 50% of them had the virus without even having a runny nose. they all thought that they were healthy. So, i think the number of infected are not important right now, unless we text everyone. The only numbers we need to care about is the number of intensive care beds, and the number of people sick enough to be in one of them.

Well done on a very good summary. In the UK we have been in lockdown for over two weeks and this has delayed the spread enough so that our health service has had time to increase hospital capacity - esp ICU beds (some in new places such as exhibition centres which have been converted as clearly there will be no exhibitions for some time) and get qualified companies to make ventilators. As of 11th April we had 20k people hospitalised with the virus and 3.3k in intensive care. But as you say, there are many more out there who have it unknowingly, or who have had it (thinking it was a mild flu). We will not know figures until the antigens tests are developed and our testing regime is extended beyond key workers (including politicians). Very few people use masks as medical advice is currently that they are of limited use since the virus can exist for so long on materials which then get handled and when you touch your eyes, mouth, ears, nose later on - you are infected. I think as part of the easing of the restrictions - which has to happen soon, - masks may be one an option in certain places. Meanwhile we lost over 900 yesterday. By the way,. The usual death date in the UK (pre virus) is 12k per week according to the Government office of national statistics.

@proud Dutchman It is always so funny when a "proud" person from Holland thinks he knows more about Sweden then someone living there.. Not that people like you ever care about facts or would ever fact check anything.. but.. There is a reason for our trust in the government, it is called Instrument of Government, and it makes our government agencies autonomous and free from political interference. Sooo, even if our "masters" wanted to brainwash us or influence how we respond to the Virus, they do not have to tools to do it. No matter what the politicians want to do, it is up to the department in charge of, in this case health, to respond and make a plan for how to beat the virus. To me it is logical, if i'm sick i'm going to the doctor not to the politician.

People forget that the number of confirmed cases is not so important, it is the infected who have not been tested that are the real problem. Here where I live there are people with symptoms who are being refused testing. You cannot fight the enemy when you do not see them. A place with low numbers is not safe if they are not testing. Stay safe everyone!

I am from Oregon State in USA. Our culture is very anti-social to begin with, so when the government put a lockdown, most people were ok with it. Because of this, the virus has been very mild here. If you are outside at the park with a group, the police will probably come and tell you to go home, but most of the time no fines are issued. People are staying calm, and although some are out of work, our economy hasn't been affected as bad as most other places. We cannot buy masks or disinfectant, but the super markets are staying very well stocked otherwise.

    Hello, Tanya.
I live in Seattle in the NW of the United States. We had the first case in the country. It spread slowly initially. Then it was spread to a nursing home, and killed dozens of residents in a matter of days. We've lost more than a thousand people. Our governor was one of the first to ask people to stay home. Our cases have slowed, but our economy is beginning to show signs of strain. Our supply chain is better than most states, but we're starting to see missing items on the shelf. Some cases, items have been gone for weeks.
Growing up in the US, I've never seen this. America always has more than enough food and supplies. It's a scary time, but we have to keep our wits about us.
I pray for you, your family, and the people of Russia. You're a strong nation. You'll get through this.

In Malaysia it was good up till July below 10,000 total cases and less than 1000 deaths after that it hit he roof today total cases 304,135 cases and 1141 deaths. We are lucky the deaths are low due to a very good and efficient healthcare system, movement restrictions and mandatory masking. The numbers are dramatically falling in the last few days.

I miss seeing the detritus of people, quirky signs that humans were here on our streets. I find it odd to walk streets that are essentially unchanging, untouched by human quirkiness and day to day living. I miss the sounds of the bustle of daily activity, the sense of passing through a stage set of human endeavor. I am surprised by how uninteresting urban settings are without humans occupying them publicly. I don't miss people so much as I miss the traces of their lives imprinted on the world around me. And I am surprised by this new awareness of the absence of people.

Masks have been unavailable in stores for over a month now. Many people are making and wearing hand made masks in public. I'm sure masks help contain the spread of virus, but isolation is even more effective. Wearing a mask is voluntary now but if this virus continues for several more months, it seems likely that everyone will be wearing them or maybe even required to. Thanks for the video update!

I live about 3.5 hours north of Boston, in Vermont state. There are not really a lot of cases here. The only places that have larger numbers seems to be big cities. I feel we are doing a great job in combating this. Stay safe.

Because there is no vaccine like we have every year for the normal flu. No vaccine + more deadly = many more deaths. A vaccine won't be ready for mass distribution until the middle of 2021 *AT THE EARLIEST.*

Please stay safe my dear Tanya. We love you. We in Canada have been pretty much following the recommendations of our federal and local governments. Cannot go into parks or gather in groups etc. We must stay indoors and if we need groceries then only one person from the house should go. The store will make you wait for your turn outside, 2 meters apart, until some other people leave it. Then you can go in. Not everyone who is outside is wearing masks but each day more and more do so. Banks are open and essential places only are also open. We did have a big problem trying to find masks and robes and face shields for our doctors and nursing staff but now this situation is much better. Many factories have changed their product machinery so they can mass produce these items. We will be OK. Take care my dear. Love from Canada.

Hi Tanya! The question is how are you and your family?! That is very important at least to me. I can tell you a lot of what is going on in my part of the USA, but it would be too much to type.
You are a beautiful person helping out like you do! I know many Russians help each other and some even help strangers and foreigners! It is Russian culture to be helpful I think. At least that is part of what I learned from my grandparents who were from Russia.
I am very concerned about Russians and especially my friends of course. I am surprised that many did not take this seriously at first. That was the same mistake here in the US. It was worse here because it continues and the bad information is given out everyday by the president and his pals!
We were very late in dealing with this as well.
We also have a shortage of masks and items that are important. While some have been sent especially for the medical people who are treating people, our president ordered federal troops to confiscate all such equipment from the hospitals because in his own mind he thinks they are stealing it and selling it! We now have doctors and health workers who got the virus because they do not have equipment for protection! While it is too little too late somewhat, there are individual people and some companies who are trying to help by making certain items for the medical people and others. We are thankful for them, but it is not enough because of government action against the very people we need.
The president is always arguing with the experts and trying to counter them.
We also have stay at home orders, but they are different in different areas. We don't really have fines attached to them either. However, if you are a person who doesn't care and tries to infect others, if you are caught (and it is almost guaranteed you will be) you will be arrested.
Many can't wait for this horror to be over of course, but the only way is to do what needs to be done.
I wish I could help Russians in some way.
In my town/city, we are also recommended strongly to stay at home, but are allowed to go to market and such if we need to. We must wear masks! We may also travel more than 100 meters, but thankfully many are choosing to do the right thing in my area. There are courageous people working at stores and eating places for everyone else taking precautions. We should thank them as well.
One really special thing from this though is that some Russians and "Americans" are helping each other! I'm not American myself except technically, but I am stuck here.
I am in touch every other day with all my friends there in Russia! We contact each other by email or message or voice to check on each other and just talk. It really helps! I am in contact with Valeria and her husband, Alex (from Different Russia channel) as we have become acquainted and she and I have been messaging back and forth. I have been helping her try to stay positive and get through this Stay At Home time. I am also in touch with Sergey and my best friend Marta and I talk by voice twice a month at least now and message each other every other day! Almost every day either Valeria or Marta or Sergey contacts me and I them.
It helps them and helps me, a lot! It is all we can do, but we do it. Russians care a lot as well!
I wish for the day this will be over and there needs to be some way of celebrating that day all of us together!
The only way we are going to make it is together. It doesn't matter and should not matter where a person is from, we need to help each other.
Tanya, feel free to email me at least as well, if you want.
    You take care!

    Hello Tania ,
first l thank you for caring and helping the old people around you.
May God bless you and every Russian in this difficult time.
My prayers are with all of God's creation.
Here in South Africa our Lockdown of 3 weeks have just been extended with 2 more weeks but that is okay as l do believe it will keep the numbers down as not all people are taking this pandemic seriously.
Surely there are difficult times ahead for the world but we as white Boer people have a bigger threat coming from blacks outnumbering us very much to effectively take our foods in our homes forcibly. We cannot rely on Police or anyone to protect us in any way so we ask for your prayers in this time.
I know God tells us in Psalm 23 not to fear but we are just human and the unknown of our future is very scary.
Please be safe as much as possible and God be with you.
