    How come techs do not clean the inside of peerless burners anymore. Last time I saw an older guy clean our old peerless was 15 years ago. I'm watching videos now to learn how to do it myself. We just had ours serviced, and the guy didn't do it.

    Great video. Can you do a before and after combustion analysis on your next boiler cleaning? It would be interesting to see the improvement in performance. Thanks!

      When they are this sooted up, you can’t do a before reading, it would damage the sensors in the analyzer.

    What caused the soot? Usually soot production comes with dangerously high carbon monoxide

      Usually, until you clean it. I didn’t even do a before CO ready because it would have tore up my sensor.

      Wrong or malfunctioning nozzle in oil burner.
      Wrong air inlet setting on oil burner. (Bad draft over fire)

      Mostly over looked is insufficient make up air in boiler room and air bands , burner blower wheel plugged up with dust or pet hair

    Have you ever dropped your brush down one of those openings?

      I’ve broke one off in there before. Had a hell of a time getting it back out. Almost said F it. But I ended up getting it from the firebox side.

    Hey Jeff can low refrigerant cause a compressor to go into thermal overload? Or in short, cutout
    ot start?

    • @JeffsHVACAdventures
      @JeffsHVACAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it can. Hopefully the system would have a low pressure cutout switch installed to protect the compressor but some don’t. And yes the lack of refrigerant return to the compressor could cause a overheat/overload situation. An overload condition is more likely to happen due to a faulty capacitor, worn electrical windings or a dirty condenser, but it’s not unheard of to happen in a low refrigerant condition.

      @@JeffsHVACAdventures Thanks for the info. I think I'm experiencing exactly that right now in my system. Hard to pinpoint though.

    Where a mask when doing carbon cleanings please. I knew a guy who did them for a living and he basically died of black lung I'm not taking 50 years ago either

    Too much excess air at 9.4 CO2.
