Three phase motor can also switch directions if they mistakenly swapped two of the wires when rewiring it so if you reconnect a previously working motor and this happens when you start then look to see which two wires you swapped.

Jeff, I am puzzled by the high Super Heat and High Subcool numbers. High superheat low charge, High subcool over charge. Is it possible there is a restriction on this unit? Did this unit have fixed orifice or txv? If you would help me understand so I can avoid any errors in diagnosis I would appreciate it. Thank you for your videos.

it's been my experience with almost anything that no one wants to fix anything anymore, they just want to replace parts and most of the time not even the right ones . .

That’s so brain dead so the customer requested a visit and got upset when he showed up all because he had to sort some keys out for him. I would of told the guy fuck off 😂

What symptoms were they seeing that required the service? Sputtering flames?

These old bell and gosit..pumps lasted a lifetime. If maintained keep them oiled ..and a spare set of springs couplers..on hand. Glad u kept same..as old one

In a situation like that, I always tie the discharge side pipe with wire or crank up the hanger to raise it to get the old pump out and drop the new one in. You never want to slide it between the flanges for risk of tearing the gaskets. The other reason is you don’t want the pipe to drop when you remove the pump. You can do a lot of damage to the piping making a one hour change out into a four hour repipe job, which you wont get paid for.

😂😂 sitting here this morning drinking my coffee an listening to water drain out of the pump wishing this white stuff falling out of the sky was rain water 😂😂 I rarely rebuild repair a pump. It has to be an emergency overtime service call to do that R&R brand new pump and no headaches.

The mark of a good tech is stripping #6 wire with linemen’s or side cuts, been in the business for 26 years and never used wire strippers..

A vendor for these was set up at my Johnstone store. Went online and got one and it has been awesome!

Keep a ratchet strap or bottle jack with a 2x4 so you can lift/jack the pipe up to give you some room. Thanks for the vid!

I took one of those pumps out of my system and replaced with a Taco pump. Couldn't see spending the time rebuilding it......Taco pump is quieter and uses less electricity.

Interesting to see all the old systems you work on, that still work!

You couldn’t rebuild that pump? Just started watching. That’s what those pumps were good for, spring couplings and such easy rebuilding. Unless the motor is completely dead.

We have a brand new house and installed a Rinnai tankless water heater. It heats the water initially but in 20-30 seconds, the water is cold. Any ideas?

You aren't the first tech I've heard hate on the AFII. As a homeowner doing maintenance and repairs, I'm sorta stuck with it for now. Can you explain why there is such a hate for this model?

What's the next step if the igniter is good. My gas valve will not open. Igniter gets power then flame light on board for a second then shuts down. Any ideas ?
