I would recommend draining the oil on the quad I'm doing this same thing and changing my starter and starter clutch bearing and just pulled it apart today and leaked oil so I drained it just makes it easier
@@carcrazyy I already did mine but I got by without draining the oil by just setting the left side of my quad up on jackstands so all the oil flowed to the right side of the engine and none would pour out
@@mcyeeterson8245 yes that's how I have my 97 Honda trx300ex right now I just pulled the stator cover off of it right now and I am checking it out literally as we speak LOL
@@mcyeeterson8245 did changing that starter clutch out fix your starting problem? And when you pull off the flywheel do you have to Re-time the motor or TDC the motor before you put the flywheel back onto the motor? Or can I just pull it off and change that starter clutch one way bearing and put it all back together ? Just wondering on that lol
I could hear the starter spinning, but not cranking the engine over. Sometimes it would catch for a second when I first hit the button and then disengage. If it was cold I had to pull start it. If the engine was warm it would usually restart.
@@Mudford thank you, I can hear the starter spinning too and a whining sounds for about 10-15 seconds then it will start to turn over but not very strong.
It was the problem I put some oil in it still need more I took it to a shop and they said they blew up went into the shop they were smoking Weed and just left it untouched went home took it apart and cranked right up just a little tap but just need oil video really helped thank you.
How did you remove the bolt that’s in the hole where the flywheel remover goes? It just keeps spinning.
When I press mine I just hear it spinning and if I push start it if I’m not staying on the throttle itll shut off
Is there a gasket behind the cover plate
Going through this now smh
Do you need to drain the oil to do this?
I'm wondering the same thing. I just got the one way clutch and I'm attempting to do it myself.

Would your quad make a noise before you changed the starter clutch?

Very helpfull thankyou
When I push my button in it just spins is this the problem?
Probably. Mine would hit for a second and then spin. Fortunately it’s cheaper than a starter. A little more work though.
