I have 2 things to say. 1. Polar bears only attack when they have a baby or are hit. So they are safe to be around any other time 2. Try placing carpet to prevent pigmen from spawing. slabs and buttons work as well
Actually, the igloo trap door isn’t a trap. It didn’t spawn correctly, making the trap door a trap instead of a secret. So I guess you’ll just have to look for another one
I think that because of terrain generation being weird, the bit beneath the igloo either got deleted or maybe got pushed further down into the earth. Either way it sucks that it happened cause I'm sure it could've allowed you lots of opportunities for storytelling
@@abadgurl2010 My best guess is that it got pushed deeper underground, below where the igloo is. It’s either that or the game just freaked out and didn’t know what to do. iirc the actual Igloo itself and the secret ladder below it are two separate “pieces” of the structure, so one can spawn without the other. I would suggest The Librarian to dig below where the trap door is but it’s also possible it spawned the trap door but didn’t generate anything below it. Minecraft be weird sometimes
@@HS-mn6jc this is true. howevrr theres some bizarre shots i got of an igloo spawning on another, the secret sticking out like a sore thumb. or anofher time where the igloo is similar to the librarians but the ladder structure is eye strikingly visible. (same can happen if its on a body of ice. its really funny yet interesting)
I agree. He's perfectly calming in stark contrast to most on youtube. Videos fighting for your attention are tiring and I feel like this is the case for any video from anyone financially concerned in its making. It's so much so that even one-man channels feel corporate. Librarian has through interesting topics and those special niches earned my attention outright. Not to say that every financially motivated video are bad, but it's a feeling I get when watching anything I just don't here. Peak parasocial relationship right there.
I love random ghost skins, makes it look like there are multiple ghosts with differing personalities competing for who gets to creep around in the dark And as mentioned previously, in lore it can be all the other lost crew mates from the shipwreck, watching as their dear friend turns into a dark lord, trying their best to make him turn back on his choices, just leading further into the mental decline of our protagonist
You SHOULD turn the Music setting on when you are in the Ancient City! :D The music there fits the mood perfectly, trust me, it is a MUST for at least one time for the ears!
Smite doesn't do extra damage against ALL enemies BTW, just undead, but of course Skeletons and Zombies and their variants are arguably the most numerous foe (and Phantoms are arguably the most annoying foe) so it's still a good enchantment. Sharpness is the flat-damage-buff-against-everything enchantment, and while "designed" for Swords I think it does work on Axes too! Also, is the continous un-natural existence of Griddy Herobrine maybe stopping him from appearing anywhere else? That might be the gameplay reason for the lack of sightings in the second half of the episode, but it also has lore implications in that it proves it's one entity, at least on some level...
Not exactly, while skeletons are common you fight those with bows and same with Phantoms. If I remember right you can get the same hits to kill with Sharpness so Smite is much like Bane of Arthropods. An enchantment which ruins the weapon.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Good points! I wouldn't say it RUINS the weapon though, it just isn't a "meta" enchantment. It still has a use case (i.e. the Librarian will still benefit from having it, if not as much as Sharpness), and I think moreso than Bane of Athropods too, since that's only for like 1 common enemy and 2 or 3 rare ones (and as you say Sharpness is pretty much identical for breakpoints too vis-a-vis BoA) Also, this is more of a "me" thing, but I fight Skeletons with a Sword wherever possible (through liberal use of wall corners and a Shield) to save arrows for when I really need them, and I prefer to hit Phantoms when they dive with a Sword too. However, I will grant that's my playstyle and once again isn't "meta" (plus I use Sharpness when I can lmao), and also isn't how the Librarian plays, but he tends to use his Bow for everything anyway (at least if it's a real threat), making melee enchantments a moot point to some degree Honestly, despite the fact that it's also not considered a great enchantment, I'd actually recommend Fire Aspect to the Librarian, as the majority of the enemies he kills in melee are Hoglins, and with that enchantment he could have free cooked pork!
I think the reason why the piglins don't fear the soul flames is because they're targeting you and are hostile towards you, when they're neutral or idle they'll run away from it.
the secret trapdoor doesnt always spawn why are you all believing it spawns at a 100% rate ive seen so many of them not generate a secret trapdoor even though they werent at a weird location
@@oldrusty20 maybe because there's a trap door? anytime I find an igloo without the secret, it doesn't have a trapdoor at all. Because, well, there's no secret and the trapdoor would be useless. If there's a trapdoor, it's meant to have the secret. Due to weird generation though, that can mess things up. So yeah, that igloo was supposed to have a secret because it had a trap door.
if you turn on View Bobbing in the graphics settings, your head will bob when walking/running but not when crouching. that's probably the best way to tell if you accidentally left crouch on
Considering all the other locations in the world are getting names, I think that we should come up with an official town name for the area around the main house. I’ve got a few suggestions. The first is Miskatonic, to keep going with the Lovecraft theme, and naming it after a university fitting with the idea that the layout of the house is deliberately designed to study the behavior of the ghosts. The second is Alexandria, of course referencing the city whose library was famously burned, which seems to fit well with the general vibes of the series. The third is just going with something really dramatic and overly ominous, like “The Seat of Stars and Ghosts” or something like that. Excited to see how this series continues in the future!
i hadnt thought of alexandria thats actualy a pretty good names you could even combine the second suggestion and go all out for a name "alexandria, the library at the crossroads of dimensions" crossroad of dimensions refers both to the fact librarian seems to bring hell wherever he travels, but also that he uses the base to research supernatural entities that are in theory from beyond the veil between life and death
If someone told me a Librarian video would feature an Allay dancing above Herobrine's head as he hits the Griddy to a music box... I'd think the channel got hacked. Also I should have pitched the idea for the Pillager to be named "Hamlet" after another Elevator Source character with flaming hair, he actively distrusted and spoke of restraining!

The OG herobrine skin instills so much terror into me, however I love your commentary regarding some of the other skins. You use the randomness of the skins in your lore and I love it! Maybe you could choose one skin per episode and build more story around it. Your choice as always and keep up the good work ❤️
One thing I don't know... Is the Sculk a result of them opening the portal... An experiment going too far, and ending up with the demise of the city, by closing it? Or, were the ancient society originally Sculk, but faded before they could open the portal to rid a dimension of safety?

What an interesting story to make out of Minecraft. A man finds himself in a new land after getting shipwrecked. The whole crew died but him, and not knowing where he is combined with the death of his comrades drives him in a descent to madness. Anyway, love it! Keep it up

When you first entered the ancient city you may remember that the sculk activated a piston, it may have opened up an area near the portal and could be a cool place to build the home you had mentioned.
Did anybody elsesee the cobblestone for the spawner at 44:08? In the clip with the spider jockey in the wall, you can see cobble and the texture and fire particles from the spawner. I may be the fool if he found it already and I missed it (I'm mostly listening) but I did happen to catch that clip and don't see it mentioned in the comments Edit, got to the part where he found the zombie spawner but there's the other that I believe went unnoticed Edit, the ending of this episode really made me feel like a child again watching my favorite TH-camr being in awe of the world they brought to life. The randomized skins are the best it gives so much variety of what spirit or stage of herobrines “corruption” it almost creates its own lore and narrative in this ever expanding world. Like either just being a watcher or being malevolent spirit it just gives fun variety to us fans because we can spit these spirits throughout the video like where’s Waldo! Lmao great videos my kind sir! The communal aspect of these videos is astounding I’ve never experienced such a series where I feel like I am involved and that we are all in this with you. This is totally a personal thing, but having the ghost, the main horror and fear of the entire series, just dancing in the base I believe dispirits the original goal of this series. To create what can be made in a traditional gameplay, and it removes a lot of the charm of the mod I feel.
Another fun fact: just like piglins, hoglins have their own zombified variants named "Zoglins". They don't spawn naturally, but when you somehow lead hoglin into the overworld through nether portal, they will eventually turn into zoglins.
I think the reason Herobrine did not apear in this episode almost at all was cause there can’t be 2 of them at the same time, and Librarian spawned him at his house. I think if the home herobrine is removed then herobrine should spawn

I got Jurgen flashbacks when he sent patience through the portal. I breathed a sigh of relief when patience was fine. It didn't help there was an ad right as he went through the portal so it added to the tension.
I'm sure others have mentioned but Smite only affects undead mobs like zombies and skeletons, Bane of Arthropods is for spiders and Sharpness affects everything
Important note about Smite: it only affects undead monsters (things that burn in the sun). If you want something that will affect all creatures, then you'll want Sharpness. Also on the sculk spreading - I suspect it doesn't spread sometimes because you're too close to the mob and you're absorbing the exp yourself before the sculk can. And different mobs have different exp amounts that they drop, so the spiders might not drop enough to warrant a spread.
Hey, librarian, when you were in the igloo and you saw the trapdoor, there's usually a dungeon beneath the trapdoor, but because of the cave generation it deleted the dungeon. So if you really want to know what's beneath the trapdoor, you'll half to find another one we all wernt tricking you there's really something down there! ( a villager and a zombie villager in a cell. ) love your videos, and I would love it if you would make another "haunted" gmod maps! I love those!
Hey Librarian, I'm not sure if you asked to be recommended shaders in a previous video, but I wanted to mention a really cool shader called "Rethinking Voxels"! Colored lights actually illuminate different colors! So Soul flames will illuminate Blue light instead of the static orange glow that all lights have normally. There's a lot more features n' stuff that I haven't mentioned here, but I really recommend checking it out; you might like it!

28:24 I think the reason that Piglins are afraid of ignited soulsand is a similar reason as to why they fear their zombies brethren and despise wither skeletons. Perhaps Piglins detest the undead, and are generally superstitious regarding anything to do with them.
you managed to find two ancient cities right next to each other! as the big portal structure is always the center of the structure which means you found two different ones!
You can trap a skeleton in a standing room only space with a sticky piston window, and a hallway to the skeleton with a pressure plate trap to lock creepers in place when you lead them into position. You can stand behind the creeper and get it shot at your leisure but it takes a bit of set up.

The reason the skulk catalyst didn’t turn the phantoms and etc into skulk is because the mob needs to be on the ground, and not jumping or above the surface. Hope this helps!

The reason you automatically crouch when you drop off Patience it's because you still have the toggle ON for crouching whenever you press Shift instead of having to keep it pressed in the options menu.
If you want the best method of killing creepers with skeletons, then just know these two things A: TNT is ignited with burning arrows B: deaths from TNT ignited by arrows register as kills from whoever shot it
Great video Librarian! Smite is actually only benificial against undead mobs. If you want to increase your universal damage you should put sharpness on your axe.

I would suggest The Librarian to dig below where the trap door is but it’s also possible it spawned the trap door but didn’t generate anything below it.

@@HS-mn6jc this is true. howevrr theres some bizarre shots i got of an igloo spawning on another, the secret sticking out like a sore thumb. or anofher time where the igloo is similar to the librarians but the ladder structure is eye strikingly visible. (same can happen if its on a body of ice. its really funny yet interesting)

I agree. He's perfectly calming in stark contrast to most on youtube. Videos fighting for your attention are tiring and I feel like this is the case for any video from anyone financially concerned in its making. It's so much so that even one-man channels feel corporate. Librarian has through interesting topics and those special niches earned my attention outright. Not to say that every financially motivated video are bad, but it's a feeling I get when watching anything I just don't here. Peak parasocial relationship right there.

I love random ghost skins, makes it look like there are multiple ghosts with differing personalities competing for who gets to creep around in the dark
And as mentioned previously, in lore it can be all the other lost crew mates from the shipwreck, watching as their dear friend turns into a dark lord, trying their best to make him turn back on his choices, just leading further into the mental decline of our protagonist
You SHOULD turn the Music setting on when you are in the Ancient City! :D
The music there fits the mood perfectly, trust me, it is a MUST for at least one time for the ears!
Smite doesn't do extra damage against ALL enemies BTW, just undead, but of course Skeletons and Zombies and their variants are arguably the most numerous foe (and Phantoms are arguably the most annoying foe) so it's still a good enchantment. Sharpness is the flat-damage-buff-against-everything enchantment, and while "designed" for Swords I think it does work on Axes too!
Also, is the continous un-natural existence of Griddy Herobrine maybe stopping him from appearing anywhere else? That might be the gameplay reason for the lack of sightings in the second half of the episode, but it also has lore implications in that it proves it's one entity, at least on some level...
Not exactly, while skeletons are common you fight those with bows and same with Phantoms. If I remember right you can get the same hits to kill with Sharpness so Smite is much like Bane of Arthropods. An enchantment which ruins the weapon.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 Good points! I wouldn't say it RUINS the weapon though, it just isn't a "meta" enchantment. It still has a use case (i.e. the Librarian will still benefit from having it, if not as much as Sharpness), and I think moreso than Bane of Athropods too, since that's only for like 1 common enemy and 2 or 3 rare ones (and as you say Sharpness is pretty much identical for breakpoints too vis-a-vis BoA)
Also, this is more of a "me" thing, but I fight Skeletons with a Sword wherever possible (through liberal use of wall corners and a Shield) to save arrows for when I really need them, and I prefer to hit Phantoms when they dive with a Sword too.
However, I will grant that's my playstyle and once again isn't "meta" (plus I use Sharpness when I can lmao), and also isn't how the Librarian plays, but he tends to use his Bow for everything anyway (at least if it's a real threat), making melee enchantments a moot point to some degree
Honestly, despite the fact that it's also not considered a great enchantment, I'd actually recommend Fire Aspect to the Librarian, as the majority of the enemies he kills in melee are Hoglins, and with that enchantment he could have free cooked pork!

I think the reason why the piglins don't fear the soul flames is because they're targeting you and are hostile towards you, when they're neutral or idle they'll run away from it.

If there's a trapdoor, it's meant to have the secret. Due to weird generation though, that can mess things up. So yeah, that igloo was supposed to have a secret because it had a trap door.

if you turn on View Bobbing in the graphics settings, your head will bob when walking/running but not when crouching. that's probably the best way to tell if you accidentally left crouch on

Considering all the other locations in the world are getting names, I think that we should come up with an official town name for the area around the main house. I’ve got a few suggestions. The first is Miskatonic, to keep going with the Lovecraft theme, and naming it after a university fitting with the idea that the layout of the house is deliberately designed to study the behavior of the ghosts. The second is Alexandria, of course referencing the city whose library was famously burned, which seems to fit well with the general vibes of the series. The third is just going with something really dramatic and overly ominous, like “The Seat of Stars and Ghosts” or something like that. Excited to see how this series continues in the future!

Piglins will only spawn if the light level is under 11. You just have to have much more lighting in new dunnich.
What an interesting story to make out of Minecraft. A man finds himself in a new land after getting shipwrecked. The whole crew died but him, and not knowing where he is combined with the death of his comrades drives him in a descent to madness.

I just came back from, yeah you guessed, another tiring day, and seeing your video made me extremely happy.
Now I can finally get the rest I deserve while I watch your video with my bag of chips and orange juice.
When you first entered the ancient city you may remember that the sculk activated a piston, it may have opened up an area near the portal and could be a cool place to build the home you had mentioned.
Did anybody elsesee the cobblestone for the spawner at 44:08? In the clip with the spider jockey in the wall, you can see cobble and the texture and fire particles from the spawner. I may be the fool if he found it already and I missed it (I'm mostly listening) but I did happen to catch that clip and don't see it mentioned in the comments

The randomized skins are the best it gives so much variety of what spirit or stage of herobrines “corruption” it almost creates its own lore and narrative in this ever expanding world. Like either just being a watcher or being malevolent spirit it just gives fun variety to us fans because we can spit these spirits throughout the video like where’s Waldo! This is totally a personal thing, but having the ghost, the main horror and fear of the entire series, just dancing in the base I believe dispirits the original goal of this series. To create what can be made in a traditional gameplay, and it removes a lot of the charm of the mod I feel.
Another fun fact: just like piglins, hoglins have their own zombified variants named "Zoglins". They don't spawn naturally, but when you somehow lead hoglin into the overworld through nether portal, they will eventually turn into zoglins.
I think the reason Herobrine did not apear in this episode almost at all was cause there can’t be 2 of them at the same time, and Librarian spawned him at his house. I think if the home herobrine is removed then herobrine should spawn

I got Jurgen flashbacks when he sent patience through the portal. I breathed a sigh of relief when patience was fine. It didn't help there was an ad right as he went through the portal so it added to the tension.
I'm sure others have mentioned but Smite only affects undead mobs like zombies and skeletons, Bane of Arthropods is for spiders and Sharpness affects everything
Important note about Smite: it only affects undead monsters (things that burn in the sun). If you want something that will affect all creatures, then you'll want Sharpness.
Also on the sculk spreading - I suspect it doesn't spread sometimes because you're too close to the mob and you're absorbing the exp yourself before the sculk can. And different mobs have different exp amounts that they drop, so the spiders might not drop enough to warrant a spread.

Hey, librarian, when you were in the igloo and you saw the trapdoor, there's usually a dungeon beneath the trapdoor, but because of the cave generation it deleted the dungeon. So if you really want to know what's beneath the trapdoor, you'll half to find another one we all wernt tricking you there's really something down there! ( a villager and a zombie villager in a cell. ) love your videos, and I would love it if you would make another "haunted" gmod maps! I love those!

Hey Librarian, I'm not sure if you asked to be recommended shaders in a previous video, but I wanted to mention a really cool shader called "Rethinking Voxels"! Colored lights actually illuminate different colors! So Soul flames will illuminate Blue light instead of the static orange glow that all lights have normally. There's a lot more features n' stuff that I haven't mentioned here, but I really recommend checking it out; you might like it!

I think the reason that Piglins are afraid of ignited soulsand is a similar reason as to why they fear their zombies brethren and despise wither skeletons. Perhaps Piglins detest the undead, and are generally superstitious regarding anything to do with them.
you managed to find two ancient cities right next to each other! as the big portal structure is always the center of the structure which means you found two different ones!
You can trap a skeleton in a standing room only space with a sticky piston window, and a hallway to the skeleton with a pressure plate trap to lock creepers in place when you lead them into position. You can stand behind the creeper and get it shot at your leisure but it takes a bit of set up.

The reason the skulk catalyst didn’t turn the phantoms and etc into skulk is because the mob needs to be on the ground, and not jumping or above the surface. Hope this helps!

Honestly? Otherside works really well as an outro song, it’s mostly lighthearted but still had a slight uncertainty to it.
Fun fact: Smite only works against Undead mobs, that being: Zombie, Skeleton, Zombie Villager, Husk, Drowned, Stray, Zombified Piglin, Skeleton Horse, Zombie Horse (unused mob), Zoglin, Wither Skeleton, Wither Boss.

The reason you automatically crouch when you drop off Patience it's because you still have the toggle ON for crouching whenever you press Shift instead of having to keep it pressed in the options menu.

If you want the best method of killing creepers with skeletons, then just know these two things
A: TNT is ignited with burning arrows
B: deaths from TNT ignited by arrows register as kills from whoever shot it
