Hi Teddy, watching the video as writing this, can i suggest you start showing us what you're wearing? Wrist check sort of thing... Keep up the great work, enjoying your video.
Hi Darren, I have typically been against it since it just slows down the video and in many cases it is the watch I am reviewing. Someone suggested having a callout with a graphic which I think is a cool idea.
From being a person who never liked to wear watches to a person who just bought his first watch (Seiko prospex). I can't thank Teddy enough for evoking my love for watches.
My dream 3 watch collection for that budget consists of: GMT - Longines Spirit Zulu Time - Everyday piece number 1 Diver - Tudor Black Bay 58 - Everyday piece number 2 (although with the new Pelagos 39mm i might change my mind :) ) Dress watch - Nomos Orion/Ludwig/Tangente - really hard to choose one, i still have to go somewhere and try them all. I think this collection will also fit 'check all the boxes' category and i am thrilled to someday get my hands on all three of these watches. (So far i've only managed to buy the Longines :))
Here’s a vote for the blue dial GO SEAQ Panorama date for the one watch diver collection. I have it in the bracelet and got the matching blue GO synthetic strap to be even more casual. Perfect set up to create a two watch equivalent with just one elite watch!
This is an excellent video Teddy! My four are as follows: IWC Mark XX - black with various easx strap options. Three rubber (black, blue and red) and two leather (Black and blue). Next year, bracelet! Love this timepiece! Tudor Black Bay Pro for my everyday - gorgeous! The perfect field watch plus, GMT. Omega Speedy Moon watch - sapphire. One has to have a manual winding crown. Make one feel connected to the watch. Breitling SuperOcean 42 - black on black rubber. Value for money, hands down the perfect driver. I recently sold my Rolex Explorer as I've been turned off with the games Rolex plays and the grey market sucks. I've been on "the list" for an Explorer II - Black dial for what it feels like a dogs age. There is nothing "luxury" about buying this timepiece anymore... It seems to be a privilege just to be even considered. I purchased my Rolex Submariner's 50th Anniversary in 2007. Now that was a luxury customer lead experience. Plus, I was given a discount! (I can't call it the Kermit - what a stupid name). Keep up the awesome content, mate. Fair play!
For the one watch category, I would have taken the Grand Seiko SLGA009, the newer White Birch spring drive watch from the evolution 9 collection, with the power reserve indicator moved to the back of the watch for a more clean design compared to the snowflake.
the SGLA009 is my first Luxury watch ever. I love it so much. The finishing is insane. When you see the watch face catch the light and reflect onto the wall, you’ll be blown away
It's a pretty interesting lineup at this price point. I was happy to see the Baume & Mercier Clifton Baumatic mentioned here. Baume & Mercier doesn't get mentioned much, but if you know something about their heritage and what they've accomplished over the years, they are to be appreciated. Personally I would include more from Longines, such as the Master Calendar and the Spirit Zulu Time GMT.
Great video Teddy. One thing you said at 21:25 surprised me and that was when you said the Junghans wears smaller then its size, because it is all dial I find they wear much larger.
Hi Teddy! Great video as always! 👏👏 I think I would go for three watches, one sport/diver, one dress and one beater/tool watch. For my sport/diver, I would go with the Omega Semaster 300 Diver with the black dial ($5400). For the dress watch, I would choose Baume & Mercier Clifton Baumatic 10468 ($3400). For the beater/tool watch, I would go with Seiko Prospex SPB299 ($1250).
Hello Teddy! I’m surprised that at least one Grand Seiko didn’t make it into this tier video… Seems like the brand offerings would have matched well to this price segment.
Hi Teddy, I really enjoy your channel and your range of videos. Also really like the ones where you go shopping with Kevin. One observation I have though, is that you never mention Panerai when doing watch comparisons. For example in this 10K range there are plenty of options across their range that could have been mentioned. Seiko/Grand Seiko, Tudor, Rolex, Longines, Nomos, Cartier, Omega and Casio get regular mentions, along with other interesting less well known brands, but never Panerai. It feels like they're being overlooked for some reason. I dont own a Panerai, but do love their look, and was very impressed by their manufacturing, testing and approach to QC that I saw in a video on another channel. Could you consider weaving their Radiomir, Submersible and Luminor watches into your comparisions so we can see how that stack up against others in the market? Thanks, Dave
Tough call so many options. I always prefer the 3 watch segment. Here are my picks. Diver - Oris diver 65 black with bronze bezel 1600$ grey market Everyday - Omega AT blue or green teak 5700$ Dress - Cartier Tank Must Large 2900$ If I went 1 watch I’d stick with what I already have (sub). Perfect duo: BB58 GS snowflake
Brandon, some amazing choices. About the GS snowflake? Can you enlighten me on that one? To have these watches in your collection as such a young age, amazing my friend. Thanks for sharing.
For a perfect duo (of luxury watches) I’d do the black dial calibre 400 Aquis and an all steel Santos medium. I know it’s a few hundred over but at that budget what’s a couple extra hundred matter?
Loving this series! Definitely see myself in the “Checking off the boxes” persona. Can’t wait until you get to $20k; that’s gonna be fun. Would also love to see you do a “preowned” version of every budget you’ve covered.
Great video - i love the tudor ranger! I only have 1 watch right now - a TAG Carerra 5 which is a great everyday watch. I'm planning on getting a couple more pieces this year likely less in price like a Nomos Tangente and Grand Seiko, we'll see!
Glad to finally see Norqain getting some spotlight! Great manufacture calibres. For the GMT option with Hipster category I would have gone with the Neverest GMT but that freedom Chrono is a great looking watch as well! Plus they’re releasing a new watch or watch line in a few days it sounds like
Blancpain Bathyscaphe at 2:38. Bulova has a new watch that is very close in design to this Blancpain model. It also costs a fraction of the $9,500 USD price tag.
Hey Guys, hey Teddy, what do you think about the new TagHeuer Aqua Racer GMT? Think its great for the price. Will we see it featured or even reviewed in future Videos? Love the work, keep it up!🔥
That Tissot is a take on a Baume Capeland. Tell me, are dials sourced at places like Basel where any brand can get any dial design? Even sub $500 brands use similar styles at times.
For the 3 watch collection, gonna go for a Longines Spirit 37 for the daily, a Tudor Pelagos 39 for the diver, and the dress option's gonna be a Nomos Orion 38
I have to agree with the addition of the Spirit 37 (I've yet to see it in the wild) and the Pelagos 39 (seen and tried on my wrist a few weeks ago but was not for sale at that time) that is one of those watches that is a tool watch with some classy additions. Very light as well. For a dress it would be a hard choice between the Nomos Ludwig and the Orion.
Hi Teddy, As a personal request, it would be really great to see a video on how I should pair my blue Breitling Superocean Heritage II 42 on a Milanese loop with only $7,500 left. Having trouble completing my 2 watch collection.
My current two watch collection is the Omega Speedmaster 3861 Hesalite Moonwatch and the Omega Seamaster diver 300 white dial - over $10k but if I had to choose one, it would be the Speedy and some money left over for a vacation
Teddy - Love the channel. Any thoughts on the Mido Multifort Patrimony vs. Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium (blue dial)? Been saving up for the latter but then saw the Mido and now I’m doubting myself. In terms of price and everyday wearability I think they’re comparable, with Hamilton of course leaning more rugged and Mido with some dress elements. Strange comparison maybe but it would be my first Swiss made watch. Wife likes the Mido better, which is a possible plus 😂
Great choices across the board! I would've loved to have seen Bell & Ross thrown into the mix. In my opinion a much better choice than Oris when looking for a Pilots watch. Also perhaps Breitling or Montblanc (the watch not the pen haha). Great dress watches at an affordable under 4,000 price range. I personally have: Dress Watch- Montblanc Meisterstuck Heritage clean dress watch no second hand 18k rose gold markers and hands Dive Watch- Rolex Submariner black bezel (2022) Chronograph- Bell & Ross BRV-126 which is a great chrono for the price point and in house movement (unfortunately only a 40hr pr though) GMT/World Watch- Tudor GMT S&G (the gold wrapped links on the underside near the buckle are prone to sever scratching though) Started off with Hamilton Khaki Mechanical, Oris Aquis, and Baume & Maucier Classima for a 3 watch collection a few years ago. Also love your NOMOS shout outs, they are an amazing German brand that should I sell the Montblanc will without a doubt be my next dress watch (since Cartier is overworn and overvalued in my opinion)
For a 3 watch for 10k I would personally go with: Everyday: Bell & Ross V1-92 (approx $2000) Dive: Breitling Superocean 42 (approx $4800) Dress: Baume & Mercier Clifton (apport $3400)
Great video as always.. This morning i was searching for a promaster and found some information about the the Citizen Campanola Mechanical Chronograph, as a huge Citizen fan i did not known about this one.
My three watch collection (which I do have) Zenith Elite chronograph with El Primero movement. Cartier Roadster (most fabulous looking watch ever imo) Tag Heuer Monaco. My total cost is under 10,000.
This has been an *iconic* series so far! I would look forward to a $12k video or even one with a budget of $15k, $20k, or more. This would be fun because some of the watches in the "1 Watch Collection" or "Perfect Duo" would be appropriate for the "Check the Boxes" or "3 Watch Collection". This series is all about imagining watch collections, so going up past the $10k mark totally makes sense from my POV. Keep up the good work!
I agree, those just considering a collection, the “three watch” option is an excellent goal. It will cover the basic needs, covering the bases, and help deter the potential boredom that can develop over time with just one style. Great video, thanks!
I’m a 6’5” 300 lb guy with an 8 inch wrist. I’m new to watches and I’m afraid anything under say a 41MM case will look too small. Thoughts on this? Does it differ depending on which watch I’m looking at. For example, I love that Zenith El Primero but I’m afraid it would look awkward.
Im 6’8, with 8 inch wrists,,, i swapped my square case bell and ross in for a panerai last year,,, you are right to be discounting smaller sizes… have a think about what you want from the watch…. I went panerai radiomir without the crown guard because it can be warn casual, but with a smarter black strap will do well in smarter occasions too. Thats a 45.
I agree that a 39 or 40mm would probably look too small. Zenith has a few different Defy Extreme models that use the El Primero movement. Those are around 44 or 45mm I think. They make fantastic watches.
Pat O,...as someone with a similar frame and 8" wrist, two recommendations based on Teddy's tremendous content across multiple videos and blogs. 1) Santos de Cartier Large Grey (black ADLC bezel) - it wears larger than its case dimensions. It is super comfortable on the wrist and with the rubber strap included, it is like you are getting two watches with one purchase. This watch does it all,...dress it up or dress it down. Watch and tax approx. $8,300. 2) Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium 42MM case (blue dial) and leather strap. Great everyday, casual watch. The dial is really sharp and the titanium case and leather strap gives it an understated sharp look and feel. 42MM looks great on an 8"/20cm wrist. Watch and tax approx. $1,100. Covering a lot of ground with $9,400.
I'll consider used if I had a $10k budget and if I planned to keep these long term as if it was a one time purchase. A Tresor Deville white dial, a speedmaster black dial and a Gshock. You'll be covered on all occasions from dressy to casual, to extreme sports and in "gentleman" style. All around you will appreciate your style. Bonus, you can either pass these Omegas down to your grandchildren or sell them for about the same when bought used.
Great way to give me all sorts of options to make my decision on watches. And thinking I'm going to need a bigger budget! Keep up the great content Teddy!
Currently trying to create a 3 watch collection. Must have a beater, sports, dress. Land, sea, air. Date, gmt, Chrono. Rubber, steel, leather. Quartz and Automatic…..lots to ask but think I can get it with a Seiko Captain Willard, GS SBGN027 and IWC Portofino Chrono. All for less than £10000
The best watch collection is, of course, _my_ watch collection :) - Rolex DateJust, 36 mm, two-tone, cream dial, green leather strap - Omega Speedmaster Date, 40 mm, dark grey sunburst dial, bracelet - Breitling Navitimer, 41.5 mm, blue sunburst dial, blue leather strap - Panerai Luminor, 44 mm, matte black dial, brown leather strap ... and then a Marathon Navigator for hiking/kayaking trips.
The Cartier Santos de Cartier S&G is wonderful. I love it and am hoping to buy my wife and myself each one for our five year anniversary (she is too small for us to share).
Im a check off the box type myself. You never know what style youre going to want that day or in the future. Every new watch I buy, Im trying to change it up a litttle bit.
For 10k USD budget I don’t think I can go with 1 watch collection neither the perfect duo, it has to be 3 watch collection, certainly the budget allows it. I would go for: 1- Diver Omega Planet Ocean 600 in 39.5 mm in blue 2- Everyday Nomos Club Neomatic 37 mm in black 3- Hamilton American Classic Intra Maric 38 mm
Hi teddy, i like your videos and i am going to start collecting watches… as my first watch i am looking forward to tudor ranger and tudor black bay 36 or tag aquaracer.. i want to know your review on these entry level luxury watch as a first watch ..thank you 😊
I love the idea of these. Fun thought experiments. I am genuinely curious though, how many folks approach watch selection this way? I kind of have a set of "core" watches that are in the primary rotation that are limited in number (3-4 in my case) along with a selection of cheaper, more adventurous alternatives (1-2 in my case). They may change over time, so a "budget" doesn't really work. All that said, these are really fun to watch, and I love trying to guess what you're choices will be!
I agree that the “wrist check” is a little slow for videos these days but I do think the pop up window idea is solid but does add editing complication obviously.
While it’s not ideal in the dress watch-department, I guess I would go for three: - Longines GMT (3k) - Tudor Black Bay Chrono (5k) - Mido ocean star 600 Chronometer (1.6k) Oh, well, maybe I would make it 4 watches and add a Seiko Presage Automatic for 0.4k😅
Really enjoy your channel. My whole collection changed from micro brand watches - which have great specs and quality like my Crepas Cayman , Benarus Megalodon , Christopher Ward Moonphase and Formex Essence Leggera carbon case, meteorite dial and patented carbon deployant clasp to 2 collector but also everyday watches- my Cartier Santos large blue bezel blue watch, absolutely love everything about it both on the bracelet and blue rubber strap, and my new Omega Seamaster 300M white dial , black bezel , have the bracelet but love it on the black rubber strap. If I get one more watch it probably would be a black dial, just not sure ..

iwc speedmaster moonwatch + tudor black bay ceramic + iwc mark18 my 3 watch of choise achievable 10k in second hand.
Nice job, Teddy. Always enjoy your videos. Hot take: Tudor Ranger = most boring watch you can get at nearly any price. Sooo many better options at $3k.
Best dive watch might be Favre Leuba Raider Bathy 120 MemoDepth. At $8600 it comes with a depth gauge down to120m. Watch is rated at 200 m. Also Bell & Ross Blue Steel simple all around watch for $5000.
Great idea for a video and choices. My only critique would be not to select watches that are not available - Rolex or those you said sold out. I believe a collection should be built over time, not at 1 shot, so never considered this.
The IWC Mark series is like the watch version of the Porsche 911. Only discerning enthusiasts can tell the evolutionary differences and upgrades to the previous version(s)
I understand why you would want to include a speedy on this list, but with only 50m of water resistance it’s hard to justify it as part of a 2-watch collection unless you are going to pair it with a diver rather than a dress watch.
My 3 picks for the one watch collection would be: i. Glashütte Original PanoReserve ($9,900) ii. Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary [Snoopy Edition] ($9,400) iii. Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Quantième ($9,100) Check mate, Teddy 😂😂😂. Nah, I'm just joking. Keep up the amazing work, mate!
My three watch collection: sports: Rolex Submariner or GMT master II. Chronograph: Zenith El Primero or Zenith defy Dress: JLC Duoface moonface Sheeeeesh

Tudor BB chronograph for sport and a Cartier Tank for dress, you are dialed and under $10k.
Love that perfect duo (Speedy and BM)!
On the perfect duo only 50m water resistance for the sports watch ?
Currently trying to create a 3 watch collection. Must have a beater, sports, dress. Land, sea, air. Date, gmt, Chrono. Rubber, steel, leather. Quartz and Automatic…..lots to ask but think I can get it with a Seiko Captain Willard, GS SBGN027 and IWC Portofino Chrono. All for less than £10000
Great vídeo, as usual. You've become my favorite watch reviewer. Excellent work. 👍🏼
Always enjoy your videos 👍I have mentioned it previously but you should show some Bremont watches. Great value around 10K👍
The best watch collection is, of course, _my_ watch collection :)
- Rolex DateJust, 36 mm, two-tone, cream dial, green leather strap
- Omega Speedmaster Date, 40 mm, dark grey sunburst dial, bracelet
- Breitling Navitimer, 41.5 mm, blue sunburst dial, blue leather strap
- Panerai Luminor, 44 mm, matte black dial, brown leather strap
... and then a Marathon Navigator for hiking/kayaking trips.
I would go for:
1- Diver Omega Planet Ocean 600 in 39.5 mm in blue
2- Everyday Nomos Club Neomatic 37 mm in black
3- Hamilton American Classic Intra Maric 38 mm
What watch was teddy wearing today? Someone answer this easy question for me please.
Can u make a video on hmt watches?
Hi teddy, i like your videos and i am going to start collecting watches… as my first watch i am looking forward to tudor ranger and tudor black bay 36 or tag aquaracer.. i want to know your review on these entry level luxury watch as a first watch ..thank you 😊
One video about Bell & Ross please. Regards and Thanks a lot for your content.
Yeah same here. In reality there are 4 or 5 fun cheaper watches to go with my 2-3
Nicer ones.
Reverso quartz with no second hand is like the best life hack I’ve heard in a while
I agree that the “wrist check” is a little slow for videos these days but I do think the pop up window idea is solid but does add editing complication obviously.
While it’s not ideal in the dress watch-department, I guess I would go for three:
- Longines GMT (3k)
- Tudor Black Bay Chrono (5k)
- Mido ocean star 600 Chronometer (1.6k)
Oh, well, maybe I would make it 4 watches and add a Seiko Presage Automatic for 0.4k😅
Can you do a episode on the New York Tudor Rolex boutique?
Do you know if Rolex AD’s have long waiting lists for datejust models?
Varies. First 2 I went to offered me Datejusts when I was shopping for divers. Needless to say I won’t be going back.
Another fun video. Please take a look at Minase and Epos.
Perfect timing Teddy! So appreciate your content!
Nice choices!
Lol! Wish this video had been made before starting my watch collection.
Thanks Teddy, as always, there is something new to learn from your videos.
I would have included the 41mm Breitling navitimer in the category #1
That Tissot chrono! That's going on my list
Best dive watch might be Favre Leuba Raider Bathy 120 MemoDepth. At $8600 it comes with a depth gauge down to120m. Watch is rated at 200 m. Also Bell & Ross Blue Steel simple all around watch for $5000.
Love this format, keep up the great work!!!
Quite a few cool choices! Food for thought, for sure :) Great video!
Thanks for showcasing these watches
I’m the check-off-the-boxes type. Problem is, I keeping making more boxes!
You’ve got the personas down perfectly in my opinion
These are the best type of videos
Great idea for a video and choices. My only critique would be not to select watches that are not available - Rolex or those you said sold out.
I believe a collection should be built over time, not at 1 shot, so never considered this.
The IWC Mark series is like the watch version of the Porsche 911. Only discerning enthusiasts can tell the evolutionary differences and upgrades to the previous version(s)
I understand why you would want to include a speedy on this list, but with only 50m of water resistance it’s hard to justify it as part of a 2-watch collection unless you are going to pair it with a diver rather than a dress watch.
Love the content always! Would love to see a new look at German brands like meistersinger
Appreciate these type of videos
Interesting how Tag is not there in any of the videos🤔
WOW 🤩!!!! Amazing presentation!!!! I’m in a way glad I’m not limited to just $10K, but if I was I seriously don’t know which way I would go.
My 3 picks for the one watch collection would be:
i. Glashütte Original PanoReserve ($9,900)
ii. Omega Speedmaster 50th Anniversary [Snoopy Edition] ($9,400)
iii. Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Quantième ($9,100)
Check mate, Teddy 😂😂😂. Nah, I'm just joking. Keep up the amazing work, mate!
Can you do one for ladies watches?
My three watch collection: sports: Rolex Submariner or GMT master II. Chronograph: Zenith El Primero or Zenith defy
Dress: JLC Duoface moonface
Sheeeeesh
