Can't even imagine with a high zoom optic sight, this guy would make the AK 47 into a 1+ KM killer easily, not accurate my ass, I'd not stay in front of this guy and his AK47 not even 500 meters away :).

@Jim Beam Effective fire of an individual infantry member is out to 350 meters. Up to 500 or so if section concentrates their fire. That's the role of the infantry soldier and that's what AK was developed for. Stop asking AKs to perform a job of a DMR rifle. In real combat, if enemy is beyond 350 meters, they use different weapons: SVD, M110, etc. And in most instances combat is well within that range.
I appreciate and respect the fact you are honest with people about your lack of knowledge, not claiming to be a guru. You are however an exceptional shot with an exceptional amount of knowledge on this weapon system.
Hits with open sights at 425 yards with any platform is fantastic . When I grow up I want to be like Rob. Merry Christmas to all and may your stockings be filled with 7.62x39 .
Jim Beam For some, Ammo is impossible to find or rifles are way more expensive than a 7.62. The 7.62x39 May be a relic but still proves true. Ammo still widely available and rifles are cheap. Damn Obama and his Russian sanctions on Kalashnikovs and 5.45 really screwed us over. Trump is fixing that though.
Jim Beam 🇺🇸MAGA🇺🇸I’m actually on my cell phone and in a few weeks I’m off to basic training, so no phone for a while soon lol. But here in Commiefornia we aren’t allowed to purchase Ammo online anyhow. As of next year we’ll need to do background checks(every time) just to purchase Ammo. Believe me, nor do mom n pop gun shops or places like bass pro shop have 5.45 here. California sucks lol. Which is why I’m moving to a red state after I serve.
I was listening to my local gun shop owners son explain to a customer now an am isn't really good beyond 100 yards because it sprays bullets at that distance.........I proceeded to tell him I have witnessed that have seen me shoot five and six inch groups at 300 yards with irons,........he didn't say much after that.Just goes to show the myths out there concerning am accuracy!
My grandfather always said this "It's the operator not the equipment that's at fault" I was raised to learn about each of my firearms all of its strengths and weakness I have never had a problem zeroing my rifle once I learned the basics of how to then it is knowing when to do it , weather, different weight of ammo, powders ect... I like what you shared
I’ve always been impressed with the accuracy of my WASR 10/63. I’ve never understood people that say that the AK is not accurate. Sounds like a personal problem.
@StripperTipper-405 stg44? Honestly, idk I don't have experience with any fighting rifles other than ak, ar, and sks. In my experience with the ak it's more accurate than I am. Even my psak47 is extremely accurate at 100yds and it cost $499.
My WASR 10 is very accurate at 100 yards with iron sights, all my rifles are sighted with iron sights first before the optics are installed, including my 1943 91/30.
funny story: i went with my friends on a 50m shooting range. I've got on my own a cheap chinese AKM, GDR-Army plastic grip and stock are the only modifications, iron sights of course. Friend 1: AR-15 16" heavy barrel, Friend 2 has HK 243. Both with Red Dot. So we make small competitions shooting. First for warm up, we shoot 50m precision in standing shooting position on an empty standart sheet of paper. The one who shoots with 5 shots the tiniest circle on the sheet may win. At the end of the stage, I won, because in was the only one who who has 5 shots on the paper.... I know where my gun is shooting to.
I'm sure that the Soviets were less concerned with pinpoint accuracy than mass fires with huge armies, but no country fields a weapon that is inaccurate to the degree that the AK is often attributed. It simply wouldn't have lasted that long if you couldn't hit a guy at 100 meters with it. If you always use the cheapest ammo, and you don't use the fundamentals of shooting, or you simply don't have the aptitude for it, then don't blame it on the weapon. They're not sniper rifles. Stop expecting it from them. Do your part properly, and they are perfectly adequate for realistic engagement ranges.
Debunked? This was literally their army officials. Get bent. I'm just posting relevant articles. Believe what you want. I know I won't suck any brand biased cock. understand that companies can make shit production and Can the rectify the issues. Does that change the fact that they issued an inferior weapon? No. And quite frankly if you didn't serve with a g36 in Afghanistan, you don't really have much experience otherwise

Basic marksmanship begins with having your rifle sights zeroed in on your target at a known yardage. Then practice practice practice. So many people simply just can’t shoot accurately and then they don’t practice to improve their skills.
Learn you some Kentucky windage people! Some people don't know you can sight in a rifle at 25 yards and if you know what that bullet is going to do at a given yardage you can use that Old Kentucky windage and never have to adjust your sights or scope again. I bought a Hornady reloading manual that came in a two book set. One book is nothing but tables with every bullet and weight that was in existence at the time that tells you how much that bullet is dropping at an x amount of yards. Extremely handy if you like shooting long range. This was before the day of being able to Google so that stuff is probably online now for anyone interested I highly recommend it.
After you zero it off the bench you MUST learn to shoot it accurately from the standing and kneeling positions. Guns recoil differently off a rest in my experience than in unsupported positions resulting in point of impact changes. Before becoming accustomed to the bench, practice your offhand shooting with a 22 rifle. I mean just rolling tin cans... It's fun and the scope stays on target easily. Until you learn not to let your trigger squeeze influence the movement of the gun your pissing into the wind... you'll be able to learn that easily with the scope because it's easier to see your "wobble zone". You'll get better and better with practice. Remember, there ain't no bench rest in the woods! Thanks for the video and letting me vent...
Zeroing is the most crucial aspect of setting up projectile weapons, be it firearms or archery, yet it seems to be the one thing so many people don't properly set up. Even changing the ammo used will drastically effect your zero. I mostly do archery, and while I shoot instinctively with my 55# recurve bow, my 200# compound crossbow absolutely must be zeroed, and if I change the grain of the bolt even by 10 grains, it can cause the shot at 30 yds to change by an inch or two, and a 50 grain change can throw off the zero by 4-6 inches at 30 yds. That's why I shoot targets with the same bolts I use to hunt, and before hunting, I re-zero when attaching broadheads to ensure the broadhead's shape doesn't throw off the zero.
My first ever shoots was done with AKMS in Polish Army, at the 1 year basic service. The rifle had wobbly stock, rear sight on S setting, 23p polish military target on 100 meters. Point of aim on the bottom edge of the target. I've got 10, 9, 9,and 8 score, 100% hits. With shortsightedness... And now i wonder how it is possible, that the Americans, who have a luxury of buying and using guns extenively, really don't know how to use them...
Most American shooters are perfectly competent. The people you hear talking crap usually are not shooters, they're keyboard commandos who spend far more time typing than shooting, if they shoot at all. We actual shooters ignore those people. Just because they have the luxury of buying and using guns extensively, doesn't mean they do. Also, if someone lives in an urban area there are plenty of pistol ranges, but they probably have to travel a long distance to go to a rifle range, which only the serious shooters do. As a result, many of the urban dwellers who own AK's (and other rifles) never even shoot them.
In Romania we had AKM with the wood stock. But basically same weapon fabricated by Polish and Romanian governments under Russian license. We had a very good officer that knew how to setup those and they were very accurate. They also told us to ignore the myths with the fact that they can be used in any conditions to scare us into taking very good care of them. They were however very sturdy, but fuck me heavy as hell :) (sorry for bad English). My point is: its a good weapon that does its job, otherwise they wouldn't made more than 100 million of them.
Realistically, I can shoot a man sized target at 350-400 Meters with almost any proper zeroed AK variant. There are a lot of people who think that's the least of what you should be able to do with an AK. There's no excuse to accept half ass results when it comes to rifle marksmanship otherwise why do you have a rifle?
@@WImob420 that's pretty good for being a new shooter. A lot of people find the recoil a bit much in the AK because of the long bolt carrier and gas piston, and the sights aren't the easiest on the eyes typically.
@RasTa FK I've owned both, and put some ARs together. Honestly AR15s are easy to build and work on. If you keep the build specs within certain parameters like not using a barrel under 16in you won't have issues as long as you keep it clean. Just like with anything, AR15 parts can be cheap and bad, mid priced with high quality, or just plain over priced. The weak point of the AR15 is the tiny lugs on the bolt. Even the best bolt your money can buy for an AR15 is still not as durable as a WASR-10 bolt. I recommend AKs. They can be a little more difficult than ARs to fit with optics depending on whether or not they come with a side rail. There are bad AKs you should stay away from though. If you want a good one get a Romanian one but make sure it's made in Romania, get a Serbian AK, or a Bulgarian one if you want to pay that much. There's still a few other ones I'd recommend but it depends who built them.
Good. It's safer for everyone that someone like that doesn't shoot lol. 400 yards is easy with any rifle caliber. We were just shooting 400 with a kids 22 cricket and an old marlin 3030 with iron sights. Hitting steel is more of a representation of the shooters capabilities not the rifles.
Made this error in a recent class. Had the rifle zeroed with the factory slant brake. Halfway through the class, I installed a brake that I bought from someone there at the class. Shots were off as I ran the gauntlet portion that had targets out to 100 yards. All of a sudden I was missing shots from 50 yards and out and had to use “Kentucky Windage” to get hits. Good post Rob. 👊🏾
Leon Adams glad you learned this at a class and not when it really matters. I'm glad you used the feed back and were able to adjust for it and make hits. Keep going!
I'm an AR guy, but, let me tell you, an AK in the hands of someone who knows how to use it is terrifying. I do have an AK and my local range has 400 yard targets, which I have no issues hitting. I believe that the reason AK's have a bad reputation here in the US is because the vast majority of users just spray the target area and hope for a hit. The AK is actually a damn fine rifle and has far more penetration power than an AR 5.56. But, as an AR guy, I'll put my AR against an AK any day and out shoot most users easily simply because they don't know how to properly use it. Also, here, 5.56 is far more common than 7.62x39, so that definitely has something to do with the popularity of it in the United States. But the point of zeroing a rifle is not just prudent for an AK, it's prudent for any rifle, so the information being stated here is good for all types of rifles, not just an AK.
im actually eyeing up my very first AR...I love the look and history of the AK and want to learn how to shoot it PROPERLY. but its 200 more expensive than AR's...and I know AR ammunition is more plentiful.
Ive been doing ammo cost adjustments 7.62×39 is 1000 rounds for less then 200 very often and some higher end stuff gets up to 230$ for 1000 rounds 5.56 is 280-330 for cheap shit ammo So idk why its popular haha Psa makes there gf3 ak47 for 500-700$ Only a pinch more then there ar but there ak is built to combloc specs to my understanding and i am waiting for torture tests but there last ak passed so id consider it a safe bet the forged one will pass just fine
Been shooting for about 2 years now, and I still find myself re-watching this video. Interesting seeing my posts on this video I made before buying my first gun (Astra A-100), and I built my first rifle (AR-15, no kits). I don't have an AK, but I did buy a 1943 Enfield No.4 Mk1, and it seems .303 British has similar ballistics to 7.62x39mm in that it'll really test your skill at longer ranges. I've gotten good enough that at 450 yards I can usually hit a man sized center mass target first try with my irons. While my irons go out to I think 1,300 yards, no way is it gonna perform well after about 500-600 (-35.6" @300 & 1,221 ft/lb, -177" @600 & 685 ft/lb, -505" @900 & 435 ft/lb). You can TECHNICALLY shoot it at 1,000 yards, but you might as well hope for unicorns and fairies to kiss your taint if you get even a little wind and think you'll still hit. And yes, I've tried shooting at 1,000 yards with it using a 4-16x44mm FFP optic. No luck. Scope was actually too heavy for the rail mount, and each shot threw off the zero, so I just switched back to irons. At first, I had a terrible time shooting .303 British, but reloading my own ammo made a huge difference in accuracy, as I could really fine-tune my weapon (shrunk my 100 yard groups from 2" to about 0.9" just by experimenting with bullet seat depth) by having precise and consistent loads. My AR-15, on the other hand, is super easy to shoot with irons, as 5.56 shoots really flat within 300 yards, and still pretty flat out to 500 yards. I'd love to add an AK to the collection, and try my hand at that. Sadly, with all the shit going on these days, I just no longer have the money to shoot or buy new guns (Biden administration can eat a dick). Seems these days .22LR is all I can afford to shoot. I look forward to the day I can continue my training and buy an AK. I don't get hung up on the firearm tribalism; I love shooting, and trying out different guns is what I love about shooting as a sport, but it's also practical to familiarize yourself with a wide array of weapon platforms. :)
Dang, man, you must have a lot of skill grouping like that with irons. I'm seriously impressed. I have a way slower fire rate and worse grouping (6" group) at 445 yds with my brother's Winchester XPR (bolt action) in .30-06 and with a 9x42 scope zeroed for 100 yds firing from the bench with a bipod. Then again, I've only fired maybe 10 rifle bullets larger than .22LR, so my experience with larger calibers is VERY low. Still, I'm truly impressed, and I will now forever correct anyone who claims AKs aren't accurate thanks to your video. Sure, maybe the grouping when in a vice may be not as good as some other rifles, but the accuracy you're getting is lethal, and makes the comparison to other platforms' accuracy trivial. If you can consistently get kill shots with irons at 425 yards, the weapon and ammo is plenty accurate.
445 yards is easy for a 30/06, the barrel could have wearing issues or the scope may be bad, or it could be your pulling the rifle. 30/06 had a bunch of records at 1000 yards for a long time.
@Jim Beam wow your o-2, mini 14 suck as well lol.you don't have to be un American to know that Jim beam sucks.I have just always liked Seagram seven whether it's Canadian blended or whatever. Next choice is Jack Daniels but Jim beam just flat out sucks. I'm guessing you are from Kentucky? I live in Tennessee and even Jack Daniel's is not my first choice. I go by what I like, not what people think I should like. And I own two ak's but I really love the old military surplus rifles
@Jim Beam and since you're so worried about the unamerican thing, why are you watching a video about ak's? I guess by your logic you're unAmerican if you shoot com block rifles
I've always kind of suspected it but once I hit 50 I fully accepted in retrospect that all of my failures and disappointments are probably 99% my fault. It's very liberating to quit looking to blame equipment or even more so other people for stuff that doesn't go right not just in shooting but pretty much every aspect of life.
You mean to tell me that if I dont zero my AK and I change hardware on it, use different ammo, and there are environmental variables that I may not be able to hit my first shot at 400 yds?
@@PLT-dq3dd You ever wear glasses? I do and have since I was young. Now, try wearing glasses and shooting well in the heat, under stress, in the cold, whenever because Mr Murphy will visit you and teach you why you are a douche for making the above comment. Focal points, parallax, prism interactions with optics, glare and a lot of other things that people who do not wear glasses can ignore become factors. Also, most people that wear glasses have to chose between seeing close up well or far away and day to day wear glasses are a mediocre balance between the two. One pair of glasses can't do both well even with bifocals. So, maybe instead of being a smug, anonymous, internet dumbass you can be a little thankful for your presumably good vision and understand that not all people are the same and you clearly have no understanding of the challenges that some face.
I love my AK my go to gun never had a problem with accuracy. I zeroed at 100 yards iron sights and my red dot. Always hit the target. I learned on a 30/30. Very close to 7.62x39 ballisticly.
I am Bulgarian and currently serve in the army reserve. Our country produces a big portion of the AKs around the world (usually bought by Saudi Arabia with US brokerage and God knows where they end up). For that reason our army uses different versions of the AK and SVD. As a grunt I was one of the most proficient shooter in my company before I moved up. I always wondered why about 70% of the shots were outside the mark for most and a few people managed to get it every time. I came to the conclusion that the 7.62x39 is a big and loud round and most people are just afraid of it. I remember the very first time I was at the fire range, taking aim when the guy next to me shot first. I could barely hold my finger not to squeeze the trigger. It takes some getting used to and some people will never be comfortable with it just like large caliber handguns. Anyways, the AK has tons of problems (primitive construction, bad selection of materials, etc.) and the newer versions are trying to solve them (that's why AK 12 is practically an A4 with a designer receiver) but the main one is the user. People who are into AK tend to believe legends (positive or negative) and rarely threat it as a tool.
I've been on my military duty in Algeria and the general impression about AKs was that they were inaccurate past a certain distance regardless the unit used. So hitting the target at 200 meters was more a matter of luck than skills. I say that because when shooting the SKS which is the same caliber and uses the same type of iron sights as AK, gave different results as everyone was quite able to hit the mark at least 50% of the time.. some dudes were even capable of landing nicely aimed shots at approximately twice that distance.
@@mammouthlafouinne3678 for us the basic exercises are semi-auto from 3 positions at 100 meters and full auto from 3 positions at 200 and 300 meters. We sometimes do 400 and 500 meters full auto as well. Having experience with M4 as well I would always prefer it to an AK not just for the range but also for maintenance and explotation. One of the few advantages of the AK is that is as simple as it can get and so even the dumbest fuck can use it.
My old eyes are too much of the bullshit for open sights much past 100. Even that is getting iffy these days 😒. Need to get a mount and scope for my AK rifle. Thanks Rob, love your vids man 👍
When I was going through school, I was told that force is able to move things, however there is such a thing as the amount of time needed for the force to ACTUALLY move the object. Perfect demonstration is the magician jerking the table-cloth out from underneath the crockery, and it stays on the table as if nothing happened. Now that FULLY applies to weapon ballistics. What often confuses people that they are used to very flat AR-15-like bullet flight trajectory. Now if one fires a full-length 5.45x39 AK-74 then it'll be somewhat justified as it's similar to 5.56 performance out of a standard 16-inch AR-15. However what often is missed with the 7.62x39 is that it's a MUCH heavier (more than twice) bullet and whole 600 or more fps slower. So 7.62x39 has more forces acting on it and for longer period of time: weight drags it down over that longer time it takes for it to reach the distance and same goes for the wind. Cold air is more dense and slows the bullet down more. If people had decent school education, they'd realize that when they are shooting. Also they'd realize that fatter 7.62 bullet gets more drag than thinner 5.56 and 5.45 bullet. All of that needs compensating for. A certain character in a game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky likes to say: "I fix faults in hardware. Not in its owners arms." Another often wonders: "Is it just me, or is everyones hands grow out of their asses? No, it's not me." Those are perfect to describe those that blame AK for "inaccuracy". Because short of barrel being totally shot out and ammo being of REALLY crappy quality, it's ALL on the user.
Here are the facts, your standard 123gr bi-metal steel core 7.62x39 has roughly 200 ft.lbf more energy at the muzzle vs your standard 62gr (M855) 5.56x45. So, the 5.56 has roughly 85-87% of the performance of the 7.62x39 in this category. Both bullets also display the same terminal ballistics so it's a wash here, if 5.45 and M855A1 were in the mix things would shake up a bit but never mind that for now. Now, the effective range of both rifles for a point target is 300m, but the common usage range is less than 100m. Considering this, it's pretty unimportant to worry about ballistic trajectory. With both rifles, if you sight them in properly and always aim center mass, you will hit your target in these ranges. I'll also point out that being a "fatter" bullet does not mean it has a harder time flying or more drag. How well a bullet flies is based on it's ballistic coefficient, a 660gr 50BMG has an incredible BC and flies better than most any bullet smaller than it. Where I do 100% agree with you is that if you listen to the average shooter talk, they all swear they can make 3" groups at 1,000yds without issue. Most AK owners I know or have met don't even have a sight tool and have never checked the cant of their front sight post. Being able to properly manipulate your equipment is part of being a good shooter. Being able to shoot sub MOA @100yds from a bench under an awning does not make you a good shot.
@@Ephem13 When you talk about the energy, you are talking essentially inertia. Inertia in horizontal plane doesn't act in vertical plane, but only against another counteracting force. As far as penetration goes, the soviet-made M43 round bullet has different construction and different core to that of 7N6, so no wonder the penetration is similar: 7N6 and the NATO equivalent M855 have steel core while M43 if memory serves has a lead core. Time moves on. I never doubted effective range of Kalashnikov and Stoner rifles. They are already at the point where human affects effectiveness than the rifle itself.
Love the AK for lots of reasons. Is it perfect? No, but it will certainly get the job done if you do your part.... And yes, there are some gun owners that, quite frankly, shouldn't be. They make responsible gun owners look bad because they don't understand their weapon, don't take care of it, are unsafe, and/or don't clean up the area after shooting. It's depressing when I go to the desert and see spent cartridges, targets, and associated trash left behind. Makes us all look bad. Rant complete.
Robs they replaced it because it was a heavy battle rifle that was designed to be effective out to 1000 yards, but in the jungle you don’t need that range because most engagements were within 2 or 300. The m16 allowed for a lighter weapon that yes, was easier to fire full auto, but not designed to for extended periods of time, that could allow the soldier to carry more ammo for less weight. In the military testing it proved to be more reliable than the m14, but after testing they decided that they could save something like 25 cents per soldier if the didn’t issue cleaning kits, and also switched to a different type of powder that fucked up the rifle. That, and shitty magazines without anti-tilt followers, and you have a recipe for disaster
AKs are not my preference and I don't own any, but they are good guns. As long as the barrel is straight and still has rifling, it can hit the target. These "3 Reasons" apply to every firearm.
100% true, it just seems that once you plop an AK into someones hands they forget that it is just a firearm and all the same rules apply. It doesn't help that most people tend to interact with things like the RAS-47 (Century Arms), I have yet to shoot one of those that works properly out the box. People don't know how to use the sights or don't have the tool to do it properly. Consider that tons of people complain about the standard iron sights for the AR platform. Never mind it's one of the most accurate iron sight systems available, it's not like their Winchester 94 30-30 so it's crap.
Told my friend that same thing. You have to zero your AK bro. Told him when you zero the rifle you can hit 20 yards-100 yards without touching your sights.
I've shot a lot of guns and, in my opinion, the AK-47 is still the superior battle weapon. I love Rob's honesty and his blunt way of speaking, keep up the good work !!
When you zero your rifle weather Iron sights or optics remember the Four Fundamentals of Marksmanship. 1.Steady Position 2.Rifle Sight Alignment 3.Breathing Control 4.Trigger Squeeze.
The biggest issue with the AK weapon systems is human error. The front sight post and the back sight post are too close together, which allows for more human error. Buy one of the side mounts and mount an optic, or buy a newer model with better sight post placement and you're golden. Good gun, tried and true. Personally, im still a bigger fan of the AR platform, myself. But to each their own.
@@joshhill5932 Comparable to a carbine, yes. The difference is distance between sight posts is minimal. However, M4's and AR's are almost always ran with a optic, as they come with 20mm rails from the get-go. Also, arguably, the pea-dot iron sight is inherently better than the AK series open iron sights. Nonetheless, a few inches can translate to a few feet down range - as im sure you already know. The reason is stated is the number one reason AK's are considered to be "inaccurate", even though its mostly human error using the weapon. My, personal, source come from a Sgt. Burke, the Marine who taught us about enemy weapon systems, how to use them, how to clean them, and all their nomenclature. Not to be the "well i was in the military, so blah blah blah" guy, but thats literally where i learned that piece of information. Lol.
@StripperTipper-405 A bone-stock AR and a bone-stock AK out to 300 meters? Yes. Comparing a tricked out DMR AR to an AK is an apples to oranges situation not worthy of a comparison.
I have both. I started looking at scoping the AK to hunt with, I decided it is not accurate enough. It's fine for minute of man but I want clean kills without messing up the meat. I bought 300blk upper instead and can quickly put 10 rounds in 2" at 100 yards. Even look at the 150 yard groups being shot in this video one shot would be good the next would've blown out the deers shoulder or gut shot it. Not cool. They flex a lot, ar is more accurate.
I am an AR guy through-and-through but the one time I was able to shoot an AK (an AK pistol at that) I shot it better than the guy who brought it out. It's about the shooter, practice and fundamentals first, then the ammo type, and then the platform. A lot of people who own AKs and ARs are simply extremely casual and lax in their approach to shooting and it results in things like Rob mentions, a lack of zero, a lack of ballistics understanding, etc.
Jim Beam you spoiled kids these days arguing over your bright new toys when back in my day (80's to 90's) we had beat up wobbly Vietnam era M16s that we never knew what MOA they were we just had to qualify with them by hitting the enemy soldier targets with iron sights. Yeah ok I like new toys too :)
Great video sir only addition I can think of mentioning is most people’s knowledge who judge this weapon negatively is based solely on video game experience
I like this guy. Lifetime learner and he says it like it is. These are basic things to think about and you need to think about them all the time while working with firearms but it is easy to get preoccupied by other technical aspects.
Very impressive! I hope the madmen of the world running around with AK's shooting from the hip and overhead never see your video or how a properly set up Kalashnikov can be so accurate.
Great choice! Purchased one last year because of AKOU reviews, been running great after many range trips!! I just purchased another one to heavily modify for fun!
I've had mine 15 years, she's a lot different looking now, but still a great gun. My only issue ever aside from a faulty magazine, was the shepherds hook. Ditch that for a Krebs plate and it's been damn near flawless.
I never thought about the muzzle break changing zero, but it does make sense. If gases are being pushed in different directions then they were when you zeroed that will affect the round. Damn Rob! You are seriously amazing!
some people does not understand gravity effecting the bullet and the wind effecting the bullet and ammo type and zeroing the sight is the no 1 on the list of most important thing to do
some things that effect accuracy in the AK also is the type of receiver, it has to be a milled receiver and also all the wood on the gun can be effected during climate changes so get one with synthetic stocks and also you have to be careful with what type of barrel your AK has before purchase the chromed barrel ones that are available are better.... and last but not least obviously not all AKs are equal, try to get an akm variant that is respectable, from what iv heard there are many european ones that are amazing.
Because of your video on how to zero an AK I got mine dialed right in. I had tried bore sight laser and it just didnt do it right. After using your video I am only limited by my 75 year old eyes. 100 + yds is no problem for me with iron sites. Thank You

First for warm up, we shoot 50m precision in standing shooting position on an empty standart sheet of paper. The one who shoots with 5 shots the tiniest circle on the sheet may win. At the end of the stage, I won, because in was the only one who who has 5 shots on the paper....

Or if they practice they use cheaper ammo, different from what they intend to use "for real".
Spread the gospel Rob! You are responsible for a lot of AK love
Love it, "I will never be a guru, I will die learning." That is a motto for life: "die learning." Thank you for that alone!
Yeah i'm learning guns and didn't even know this was a thing until i saw this video.
@Swampy I said learning. I dont own any yet. I'm not gonna be "that guy"

There's a lot of people in the U.S. who never shoot paper past 50 yards. They give up on themselves too easily.
I'm a kinda new shooter, took AK to 100 yards, was first time at that range. all shots on target, even got a bulleye.... Iorn sights. 😎
Leon Adams We live & learn bro. At least you stayed in the fight. Rock on!! 👌🏾
Leon Adams glad you learned this at a class and not when it really matters. I'm glad you used the feed back and were able to adjust for it and make hits. Keep going!
CALLED IT!!! People can't hit anything because they don't know how to use/adjust their sights.
Plus... how can you learn to shoot when all your rifles have never been zeroed properly. And they have been shot at max 100 yard range, probably 50.
I zeroed my AK 47 and reached Berlin.
I think I did good.
Thanks for the tips.
Were you living in Berlin at the time? 🤫
@@Bagheera2 go get 5.45 AK

Ive been doing ammo cost adjustments
7.62×39 is 1000 rounds for less then 200 very often and some higher end stuff gets up to 230$ for 1000 rounds

425 yards....couldn't even see the target :D
10:08 - this is target to practice shooting man with a big balls of steel

I love my AK my go to gun never had a problem with accuracy. I zeroed at 100 yards iron sights and my red dot. Always hit the target. I learned on a 30/30. Very close to 7.62x39 ballisticly.
I am a 20 Years US Military Veteran USMC & US ARMY and a New AK owner I love your Channel Brother !!!!
We all know where most of them end up.
Bulgarian AKs are known for be one of the best AKs.
@Darkzz Lord it isn't a question but a statement.

But the heavier bullet means that it better deals with the air resistance and also is less affected by the wind
"I will die learning, because I'm a slow learner." :) Awesome video and awesome attitude! Your AK videos are the best!
Misses: "Rifle is bad!"
Rob: "Enough with the bullshit talk".
Moral of the story, the rifle is fine. It's YOU that can't hit shit😂😂😂
I have to give it to him, he definitely knows how to zero a unicorn 🦄.
Rant complete.
is it perfect? yes*
Finally, a person who can keep it real
Robs wrong. And wrong. When we take contact there is always a designated marksman in your fireteam squad. That’s hogwash combat your speaking on lol
Robs way of saying "You Suck Dudes"...😉
😂😂😂
Ahhhh! This is why I subscribed to this channel!! Glad I did!! 👍👍👍
You're awesome. Thank you so much for this video. Bunch of squadron mates loved the hell out of this video.
Always putting out great videos. I'm a newer AK owner, and your videos have helped me a lot!
But to each their own.
actually that is not true. the distance from front sight to back sight are about the same on an AK and a M4. If you don't believe me go measure.
Lol.
Great video Rob. I'm tired of AR users blaming AK
The funny part is they can't even hit shit with their ARs either.
@StripperTipper-405 If you compare ARs and AKs in the same price point, shooting the same quality ammo then yeah.
425yds...damn!
Yup, pretty much max accurate range for this cardrige
Operators Union, good videos. Short and to the point.
Best commentary I have ever heard that dispels the myths about AK accuracy !!!!
JUST THE BASICS, GOOD VIDEO.
They seem accurate in my experience. Certainly accurate enough for their intended purpose...
The intended task for AK is to hit, center mass and down enemies; not drive tacks.
@Jim Beam Not everybody gets issued a new rifle and the old rifles are definatley in varying shape as compared
Jim Beam he’s not talking about the cool guy m4s, he’s referring to the ones the grunts use with the fsp and non-free floated rail.
Jim Beam I know I get pretty old and grumpy these days when all the manufacturers make it so hard to find a nice 20 inch barrel!
The early AKs had accuracy issues and that reputation stuck with it.
Just like how the early M16 failed in Vietnam and got soldiers killed.
Rob isn't an AK guru people! He's only a lvl99 operator, guru is 100! 😂
Reason #1, I'ma bad shooter.😂
@Jim Beam if you're shooting an AK it must be genuine Russian vodka to improve accuracy 😂
Very impressive! I hope the madmen of the world running around with AK's shooting from the hip and overhead never see your video or how a properly set up Kalashnikov can be so accurate.
I totally agree with you, everytime you make a change on a rifle whether it be ammo or exesarys you need to check sight in !! very vital.
idk why but i started laughing so hard and almost shit my pant when you started talking in the beginning
"Stop blaming equipment for your failure!"
-RobSki
saving up for my first rifle which will be the MIGHTY WASR
Bought mine 13 years ago and she's still running like a champ. The only thing I added was wear marks.
I've got one. Those things work. Not the prettiest things, but I've never cared much about that. Not with rifles anyway...
Better hurry, the government is a comin
I never thought about the muzzle break changing zero, but it does make sense. If gases are being pushed in different directions then they were when you zeroed that will affect the round. Damn Rob! You are seriously amazing!
some people does not understand gravity effecting the bullet and the wind effecting the bullet and ammo type and zeroing the sight is the no 1 on the list of most important thing to do
Świetnie się ogląda twoje materiały. Dobra robota!
Czy tylko ja na 7:40 widziałem Polską flagę?
I love it!
Closing your eyes whenever you take a shot can also be a major factor . . .
lol the unicorn analogy had me laughing
Robski giving us another great analogy with the unicorn laser eyeballs example.
some things that effect accuracy in the AK also is the type of receiver, it has to be a milled receiver and also all the wood on the gun can be effected during climate changes so get one with synthetic stocks and also you have to be careful with what type of barrel your AK has before purchase the chromed barrel ones that are available are better.... and last but not least obviously not all AKs are equal, try to get an akm variant that is respectable, from what iv heard there are many european ones that are amazing.
Chinese ak receiver 1.5 mm Russian 1 mm Chinese much stiffer mac 90
Rob, you are a guru compared to 99 % of us! Thank you, fantastic video and information.
Thought he was Glaz from R6 Siege in the thumbnail
ARZZIO He actually looks like
"Details"
Because of your video on how to zero an AK I got mine dialed right in. I had tried bore sight laser and it just didnt do it right. After using your video I am only limited by my 75 year old eyes. 100 + yds is no problem for me with iron sites. Thank You
220yds, thats some great shooting with irons, and on the kneeling position...Kudos!
cause you need to spread out your lead equally on the target
425 on iron sight thats impressive
If your not zeroed then your 'tardin hard!
And even if you are zeroed but forgot to BDC, you'll still miss by *turdy* inches
The AK doesn't have a bad rep here... we love it!
@7:32 that Polska walczaca flag and sign. Great advice, harsh, but good. When the world seems deaf to any advice or reason, you cant help but simply jam the truth into people, and the truth is they simply wont udnerstand otherwise.
