This is the first Yugo I've actually seriously considered owning. It's proprietary but over built. Yin & Yang. I'm liking the type 3 profile chrome lined barrel, bulged trunnion, 1.5mm receiver, smooth dustcover, the look of the wood, the simple gas block, and the extended handguard.
Honestly these will probably outlast most AKs in meltdown tests. I hope one of the big full auto ranges converts one and we can see how many rounds it lasts with long term auto abuse.
@Roald Shakleton obviously you don't know me or what I know. I used to have an RPK. I own a M92 PAP, and 2 Norinco MAK90s, 3 SKS - 1 standard model, 1 paratrooper model, and a Tapco Tactical model. Norincos, Yugos, and other AK variants are well made rifles. You obviously missed the point about what I originally commented - Well made and hard to beat.
Kalashnikov platforms always have been a niche market. Im not sure if it will catch up here in the west, unless we get some real imports from Russia or an increase in quality here in the US. With the sanctions that might not be for a while.

Mine came with the FDE opfor archangel polymer stock the wood furniture were sold out. But I have to say I have been loving it. I watched your video on tbe American way to sight my AK, and went over to your website and bought your sight tool and AK 47 boot camp book plus a bd2 muzzle break. The muzzle break made a huge difference and I replaced my recoil spring with the mcarbo ak 47 recoil spring and now it's like shooting like a dream. Also got some of those 2 step rifling zeroing targets you recommended and they are great. Thanks so much for all you do! Oh and thanks for the free sticker you sent with my purchase!
I have a proper parts kit of a 1982 production Yugo M70B1 rifle that saw use in Bosnia. I've never assembled it since I live in ban happy NY and refuse to neuter it to be compliant, so it sits as a demilled kit in a box. I even played the Yugo barrel lottery back when they were $14 each and bought 4 pulled original military m70 cold hammer forged non chrome barrels, and selected the best. No real pitting, a little dark stained but strong rifling. some day if I ever leave NY or they repeal the SAFE act I'll have it sent out to be done right and be a beautiful piece.
Rob the AKOU store needs a “balls annihilator combo” optics package to pair with this rifle that has the holdovers pre-zeroed POA upper torso and POI scrotum.

Finally got my zpap after a month of waiting. Not the bulged trunnion version sadly, but your 5000 round test on the original zpap is good enough for me!
I am surprised at how flat it is shooting, when you first mentioned this AK I ran and got one ! The black poly one . Waiting for wood to come in . It feels nice but unfortunately I cannot use ranges now .
@Steve Kristmann Agree completely.. I have a whole rifle range that fits in the back of an SUV.. But some people in the eastern states don't have ANY open public lands, so that is not an option.. I could never deal with that, my property is backed up against National Forest land.. Last house before the pavement ends!

By the time I got my Winchester Defender 12ga and got to the window, all I saw was taillights at the end of the block.. Tacoma PD showed up, and wanted to confiscate MY GUNS.. We sold the house 3 mo later, got the F out of there.. This place on the Oly Peninsula, near the National Park, is living in vacation land.. Hotels, Resorts and Snowbirds.. No Crips moving into the house at the end of the block, ruining a good neighborhood.. We laugh about that now..

I picked up my M70 yesterday and on further inspection, everything you’ve pointed out has been done/ upgraded 🤘🏻 Dust cover now has a slight bend to it so it stopped perfectly. Paper clip is gone and plate is in. I even noticed extra polishing where you show us to use a dremel to smooth out the trigger mechanism. 🤯 This weekend I’ll zero it and see how it performs in bone stock form. Looking damn good though. Thanks again brother 🤘🏻 I have a better rifle because of you.
@@Catgat37 it runs like a champ. Zero feeding issues so far. Only put 240 rds through it so far. I’ve added a few things to it since taking it out. My favorite rifle I own right now. I’m gonna be picking up a second M70 in a different configuration.

I want one so bad, but I think I am gonna wait to see what happens after 3000-4000 rounds. The stock does bother me. I looked at the normal Zpap in the LGS a few days ago and the stock was doing the same thing out of the box, good sized gap and was wobbly
I bought one recently. If a gun store doesn't have one or can't get one you can order one online and have it delivered to a brick and mortar store. Here in West Tennessee the fee to do that is usually around $35.
Just picked up my zpap today from ffl. Excited to send some rounds downrange to zero weapon. However, I did a side by side comparison with PSAK-47 GF3 and noticed a slightly canted front side on the zpap. I also compared the rivet work done on both weapons. Much cleaner work on the gf3 than the zpap. I'm thinking Zastava is trying to get these weapons out as quick as they can. But nevertheless, I'm stoked about this import from Serbia.
Cosmetics aside, how do they shoot? After 300 rounds my GF3 was getting light primer strikes, sent it off to PSA and (after two months of pleading with them) they discovered it was out of headspace due to the bolt needing replaced. It was a time bomb. Since I got it back, it's already given me one light primer strike in
Round count was approximately five hundred rounds with no hiccups. I would've liked to put more rounds down range but it was during the ammo shortage. I'm shooting the m70 zpap more than the gf3 now, with a little over one thousand rounds. Sorry to hear about your PSA gf3. When you have a chance, pickup an import akm, you won't be disappointed. Zastava or WBP are great akm's.

If you have full auto safety and travel over dust cover it will cause discharge of the trigger hammer since trigger hammer will be forced out by safety lever. Now, in all honestly you can thank ATF for this and retarded laws which are preventing from using native AK FCG...

Rob, I’ve always been curious why people run suppressors on guns they are testing? I’d think if you were going to do a heat shift test that you wouldn’t want any additional weight on the end of the barrel. It may considered negligible weight but I’d think it has an affect on the shift. Always appreciate your videos brother!
I'm honestly a little curious to see how much shift you see without a can on the barrel. You kind of have to wonder whether the shift is due to the mirage or if it's repeatable without a can on the rifle. Maybe it was answered in a past video.
I have never felt or shot as nice of an AK as my Vepr fm-ak47 or fm-ak74, to include my Sam7. I sold my NPap for those guys and while these new ones do look a bit nicer, I felt my NPap was 70% the rifle either Vepr is. The Vepr really is heavy though lol
Great channel Rob Ski. This is my bible before getting an AK variant and any accessories. Just got one of this from Atlantic Firearms’s last batch a few days ago after many months of waiting for them to have it in stock. Super excited that It arrived today to my FLL; went to pick it up and disappointment hit!! Dust cover seemed kind of loose so I grabbed it with two fingers and rattles????? Is this normal??? Don’t recall my wasr10 doing that. Also, one of the rivets has spacing. Any thoughts anyone. Thanks in advance.

Good test - one nit pick - that IR thermometer is not an accurate way to measure the barrel temp. It cannot accurately measure the temp of objects which are smaller than the lens diameter of the sensor. There are ones which have smaller lenses.

They're all over built. Really heavy for stamped guns, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Love my new zpap took it to the range on Wednesday. Going again tomorrow with an alg trigger now and MDC brake on it. Extremely impressed with this AK

Got mine a few months ago. 600 round through so far and it’s perfect. It shot zero right out of the box. Love it

However, I did a side by side comparison with PSAK-47 GF3 and noticed a slightly canted front side on the zpap. I also compared the rivet work done on both weapons. Much cleaner work on the gf3 than the zpap. I'm thinking Zastava is trying to get these weapons out as quick as they can. But nevertheless, I'm stoked about this import from Serbia.
After 2 months, how do you compare the ZPAP to the GF3?

Cosmetics aside, how do they shoot? After 300 rounds my GF3 was getting light primer strikes, sent it off to PSA and (after two months of pleading with them) they discovered it was out of headspace due to the bolt needing replaced. It was a time bomb.
Since I got it back, it's already given me one light primer strike in
Round count was approximately five hundred rounds with no hiccups. I would've liked to put more rounds down range but it was during the ammo shortage. I'm shooting the m70 zpap more than the gf3 now, with a little over one thousand rounds. Sorry to hear about your PSA gf3. When you have a chance, pickup an import akm, you won't be disappointed. Zastava or WBP are great akm's.

Full Auto safety and the lever can go over the dust cover?! They like to roll the dice I guess.
Mine has that issue. But with the alg trigger it does not fire when the safety goes above dust cover. I’m not sure if it does with the zastava trigger
"it's no big deal" - as a new AK owner I was surprised to find out you could fire it by swinging the safety around, I think most people don't know this
If you have full auto safety and travel over dust cover it will cause discharge of the trigger hammer since trigger hammer will be forced out by safety lever. Now, in all honestly you can thank ATF for this and retarded laws which are preventing from using native AK FCG...

Got my Z-PAP M70 just before they went to the 1.5mm, chrome barrel, bulged trunion. If only I had waited a few weeks longer. . Now I have my eye on a Polish WBP Fox. :)
Rob, I’ve always been curious why people run suppressors on guns they are testing? I’d think if you were going to do a heat shift test that you wouldn’t want any additional weight on the end of the barrel. It may considered negligible weight but I’d think it has an affect on the shift. Always appreciate your videos brother!

I'm honestly a little curious to see how much shift you see without a can on the barrel. You kind of have to wonder whether the shift is due to the mirage or if it's repeatable without a can on the rifle. Maybe it was answered in a past video.

AK Operators Union, Local 47-74 interesting. I’ve been after a 47-11 and/or a 47-21 for a bit now
I have never felt or shot as nice of an AK as my Vepr fm-ak47 or fm-ak74, to include my Sam7. I sold my NPap for those guys and while these new ones do look a bit nicer, I felt my NPap was 70% the rifle either Vepr is. The Vepr really is heavy though lol

Great channel Rob Ski. This is my bible before getting an AK variant and any accessories. Just got one of this from Atlantic Firearms’s last batch a few days ago after many months of waiting for them to have it in stock. Super excited that It arrived today to my FLL; went to pick it up and disappointment hit!! Dust cover seemed kind of loose so I grabbed it with two fingers and rattles????? Is this normal??? Don’t recall my wasr10 doing that. Also, one of the rivets has spacing. Any thoughts anyone. Thanks in advance.
I think you need a longer sling, not enough of it is on the ground when your shooting

Good test - one nit pick - that IR thermometer is not an accurate way to measure the barrel temp. It cannot accurately measure the temp of objects which are smaller than the lens diameter of the sensor. There are ones which have smaller lenses.
