You will sleep so well tonight knowing that your webshop has been completely secured, following all these steps in this video. We're gonna secure your WordPress webshop right now. Log into your webshop. You might still be using /wp-admin/ which is the worst way to login, because it's known around the world, so bots can automatically try to log in using only this URL. We're going to secure and change this in just a minute. So what we need for our WoocCommerce website to be completely safe is we're going to need a plugin. Press 'Add new' and the entirely free plugin we're going to use is type in "iThemes Security". We're going to press 'install now'. Press 'activate'. In here you can see the setup button. Uou can press over here 'Setup' or you can just go to here and press 'Settings'. Let's set up our security step by step. I'm going to guide you through all these settings and explain them to you so you know what's going on. We're going to press eCommerce and we're going to set this up for ourself. Then you want to select your the WordPress roles given to the customers.
I don't have subscribers on this website but you might have, or else just only select customers and press next. Now do you want to secure your customers account with password policy? When they're creating an account they have to fill in a password. Most passwords are just really lame and easy to guess or to hack. Now the problem with that is, if someone can log into your system with a hacked account, there are more ways to hack you than when they are still outside. So yes, we're going to enforce a password policy for these users. Press next. Now this is one of my favorite features and one of the best ways to lock hackers out. Two-factor authentication. If we enable this one, no administrator will be allowed to log into your webshop without entering a code from for example your mobile phone. We're gonna set it up in just a minute. For now we press next. And yes, we want to be secured against local brute force and network brute force. What does it mean? Well the local is just auto bots or things trying to guess login details from your website, and then we can join a network which actually reports all kinds of IP addresses so that you're already safe before they even try to connect to your website. Press next. With the Security Check Pro - I want this, and then every IP address is trying to reach my server will be checked against the iThemes Security server, if they are okay. Press next. Here you can change user groups with specific security measures. If you just use default, the customers, they cannot manage the iThemes Security - of course never ever allow this for your customers....

Hello, Great Video Bro😄. I have one issue that I dont know if you know the fix for it. 9:00 for the site scan scheduling, if I do it manually there is no errors and the scan is green. But when the systems does it it results in error "Unable to determine if the scan target is allowed: Scan target is not publicly accessible." This issue is caused because the site keeps scanning the private IP Address, Do you know any solution to fix this issue ? changing the site scan target for example.

Hi there! Yeah you could make a webshop that does not look like one, no problem at all. All you need is the functionality of a e-commerce website, so that includes WooCommerce for example and payment providers. But you can style the entire site just the way you want to if you use for example wpressdoctor.com/getdivi/ 😀👍🏻

Hi Tricia! Thanks for your question. If you don't have that folder, you're all good. Than you don't need to exclude it 😀 Its only for Divi Theme users - as it creates a cache folder.

I'd like to thank you for this detailed video. I have followed it to the letter, and my Woocommerce store is secure again after changing hosts, where I had to replace my security plugin. Does iThemes have settings where I can whitelist my uptime monitoring tools? 🤔 I can see IPs can be whitelisted but it would be nice if there was an option for user agents.
Hi Al! You are very welcome! I always use UpTimeRobot that work perfect well with iThemes. Also MainWP works perfectly together. Do you notice any blocked tools then?
@@WPressDoctor -- I use Uptime Robot too. No, I haven't noticed any issues so far, but I thought the constant checks may trigger a block. Have you whitelisted Uptime Robot's IPs, or is it working fine without them?

Hi Cyril! Sure! I have used both and switched completely to MainWP. Because two reasons: ManageWP is not scalable in the end - it will cost you more and more and more when your business grows. So I paid the lifetime MainWP and all problems solved. 2) full flexibility on everything. It’s your system and you host it so you can adjust anything you want in child themes for example!

@@WPressDoctor I tried different things that didn't work. But I wonder if that feature clashes with a plugin I'm using called LoginPress?? 🤔🤔 So, I went ahead and disabled this feature.
Yeah that’s a good explanation! That plugin indeed also does the same - kinda. So you could then not use the function in iThemes, should work with brute force enabled.

Thanks Matt. I used your setup and succeeded to configure but just one little alert. "Enable security check pro". I have already enabled it under utilities in the features section. Also when I go to tools then security check pro and run it, it says your site does not support SSL. But I have my ssl certificate installed, enforced and I can see the lock on the browser. Have you encountered this? How can I make that alert to go away?
Hi Tatah! Thank you for your question. I'm glad you got it configured all. Excellent job! I think that the message comes from loading a image or something via instead of . This could be because of the theme or something. My advice is to install a plugin called "Better Search and Replace" and then run it replacing with throughout your entire database. This might do the trick! Look closely that you make sure the plugin is not set to 'dry run', or else nothing works 😊
Thanks Matt. I tried that but it was not a mixed content problem. It had to do with the way addon domains are structured in my hosting company. I will just have to change my hosting.
Is the Siteground security plugin enough to use if you are hosting with them or you would still recommend using ithemes over it?
I actually dont use there security plugin on my SG hosting sites. I always use iThemes 👍🏻😀 I have not did any hacking tests, so I’m not sure about the quality. Should be good though, they always have great service 😀
i recieved an email which says my site has been hacked. database hacked or it says server hacked. ive changed the pass and enabled ithemes security. please tell me my site is secured now? also, in tools in "identify server ips" it is shoeing 3 ips....... im so worried please help!
Hi there! Well first of all you need to verify the sender of the email. Is it just a spam email to make you pay or is it really hacked? How do you know your website has been hacked?

Hi there and thank you for taking some time to write me and thank me. Really does me good 😀 This message often happens when the caching plugin is out of sync. Try to clear the cache or disable it temporarily. Let me know if that helps!

Hm that’s odd. Try to disable caching entirely and see how they turns out?
@@WPressDoctor ive uninstalled the itheme then started the process over again as I couldnt fix it. I have got to the Configure/Site Check/file change part and clicked on the wp-content folder but I have not got the ep-cache folder like you had, mine said sgo-cache so picked that. Was this right thing to do? and secondly I think sgo must be Siteground optimiser would you agree? and thirdly I have (a week ago) changed hosts from site ground and im now with Hostinger so will my cache not be done after expiration date? so sorry for all my questions, I have no funds to pay people to do things for me so reliant on any help I can get sorry.
also the cache folder sgo-cahche didnt have numbered folders within it like yours mine just had 1 folder and its .htaccess so ive stopped at this point until I get your reply to say its ok to add it.

iThemes doesn't have a malware scanner and a firewall. Is it better than Wordfence?
Hi Sameer, well in my opinion it’s better because of the hide backend feature and the 2 factor authentication build in. So I would say ‘yes better’ 👍🏻😀

@WPressDoctor user see them after grant8ng permission to receive push notification from website through browser. I'm using divi theme . Usually complaints are coming from android users push notifications.
I got to time stamp 26 and i was stumped. so close... it said cookie check failed . also there was a set encryption key option not shown in your menu
That doesn’t sound good. I would advice to re-install iThemes and try again!

Hi there! Ah that’s not good. Disable the plugin via FTP or your host, now you can login again and disable the 2FA. It might be that your email is just not sending out via Wordpress, check that first before enabling it again 😀👍🏻

@@WPressDoctor idk I use wordfence free. I have heard things in the past about ithemes so stayed away and never used anything since they all slowd down but now just have wordfence. 1 Thing I love about wordfence is they pick up a lot of the vunerbalitys in wordpsss so get emails about that and if a plugin is outdated or had a vunerbilty and needs to be updated they send an email. I feall the scan is mostly what I need. Using cloudfalre and doing some pretty hardening on my server I don't see the need for much espicly since I am not huge and not getting much traffic now anyway.
