    Awesome overview! One small comment, the vPatch rules that auto-mitigate vulnerabilities are assigned based on the Patchstack priority score, not by the CVSS score. The CVSS is a standard scoring for software vulnerabilities, but unfortunately it doesn't give an accurate representation of real-world threat in the WordPress ecosystem. Patchstack created the priority score as a better alternative. All high and medium priority vulnerabilities get the vpatches applied.

    So WP Umbrella being a WordPress maintenance software offers security vulnerability and hardening services. May I ask for a comparison between Umbrella and Patchstack?

    How does this compare to Wordfence

      Patchstack is faster to protect from vulnerabilities and has less performance impact on your website. WordFence does malware scanning, which Patchstack doesn’t. Patchstack is also a lot more affordable.

    Hey Paul, thanks for another amazing tut. Does this help with spam?

    • @WPTuts
      @WPTuts  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Not really, it's not aimed at spam, more dealing with WP vulnerabilities.

    Patchstack was integrated into Solid (formerly iThemes) Security I think.

    Always use mainstream plugins with good support. Configure servers appropriately. Most of the websites that get hack are mostly because of bad server configuration and of course adding any xyz plugin without realising the loopholes in the code.

      Absolutely! Plugin quality is an often overlooked factor when it comes to security and performance issues.

      Although everybody (even the best plugins) makes mistakes. Patchstack and the vPatching feature can mitigate those before the patch is being released

    Should I use Wordfence with patchstack?

      I don't see why not. I use Solid Security on my sites alongside Patchstack and I'm not seeing any noticeable impact on the site or load times.

      Personally, I'm always a bit against mixing two plugins doing similar stuff. Weird things might happen.
      I would start with a question - for what I want to use WF and for what Patchstack.
