    I've been following this project and I have to say thank you for this. You're not just teaching people how to build a car, you're teaching people how to think and problem solve. That's a real treasure so, thank you!

    • @BuilderCreator

      You have to teach people to solve problems when you are teaching them how to create them just as fast. Ha! Thanks for following the project(s) and being part of the problem. ;)

    So darn cool. I really love this channel. Every video is a treat. The finished car should be awesome and also provide a heck of a documentary if you ever decide to curate the bazillion hours of footage you will have. Thank you once again for the great content.

    Would like to see u make a seriously heavy duty phone case w/ belt clip that's just a strong/protective for the S22 Ultra....seen plenty claim "rugged" or "heavy duty" etc....there's a few that have an aluminum frame but none of those come w/ a belt clip & if they did,it would probably be cheap plastic.....

    I'm really enjoy to follow your project. I have 2 Lotus Europa, a 1968 and a 1971. They are very different than your car.
    How much do you believe will be the final weight of the car? One of my Lotus weight is only 560 kg.

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      The original goal was to keep it under 900Kg, but it will likely drift closer to 1100kg. Although the car is small it is still much bigger than the Europa and has a MUCH heavier power plant which requires a heavier cooling system, bigger breaks . . . . .etc. Fun little cars the Europa! Had a friend who did a Mazda rotary swap into one. Gave it a good power upgrade, but still kept the weight balance for that famous Lotus handling. Glad your enjoying the videos. Thanks for following the build(s).

    Glad to know that your health is better. I am enjoying your projects progress, and your problem solving techniques.
    If I am correct, you mentioned earlier you may have an issue with the wheel well and the tub foot pedals. Not very much room if i remember correctly. Do you have a solution, and do you think you might a design solution to avoid this kind of pinch point in the future? Like mabe moving the front wheel suspension forward a few more inches?

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did cut some out of the foot well in a previous episode, so it is usable but tight. The easy solution would have bean to build with a rear trans-axle and no center tunnel . . easy, but would have cost $10,000 more. Ouch!

  • @peters5333
    @peters5333 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jay. Some constructive criticism. I was one of the followers who guessed a door hinge assy in prior episodes. My concern is using the actual car as the quasi mock up/real world door build. Just Don't! As someone who has worked on car doors in a professional environment...yeah I know that sounds odd but design for a vehicle that has to repeat itself over ...whether a one off or 1Mx over, its a brutal task. You are heading to a world of frustration otherwise. Re-create what you have on the car in a separate scale mock up. Otherwise once this car is built your door sealing and closing will be compromised. You need to see how the whole system reacts. Builders think door fab and function is easy. Ask a professional automotive engineer or a resident engineer in an assembly plant. They will tell you the opposite.

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I understand your concerns! Know however, that this project was never started as an easy build. I could have taken a hundred easier paths and gone with ideas that would have "fallen" into place. This project is in its very nature, "a world of frustration!" I like it that way; I learn and grow. Know also, that this is one of the few parts that I am 3D modeling and reverse engineering as close to Keonigseggs as possible. Christian Keonigsegg said in an interview that they have thousands of hours into the door design; I am not opposed to using there time as my R n D. We shall see, future videos will have early success, or me cutting things up and sticking more epoxy and fiberglass were it should have been in the first place. Ha! Thanks for the input and following the project.

    • @BuilderCreator

    Once this attachment / fixture is established, will this be molded for future replication / replacement as a bondable assembly?

    • @BuilderCreator

      If I were to replicate the whole thing I would scan the completed/perfected car and then CNC cut the molds.

    I just have a question approximately how much do u think this car will weigh with all foam and what not wouldn't that make it heavier

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      All the foam in the car will weigh less than 10 lbs. I was shooting for 2000lbs, but it will likely creep over that.

  • @lunarthespacecat7772
    @lunarthespacecat7772 ปีที่แล้ว

    so is this entire thing like a clay concept and then the real production will begin or are you just a hobbyist making your own car and then taking it to showsss????

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      This will be a one-off project, but it would be the same process if it were slated for production, as this "prototype" process would answer a lot of questions and refine the design.

    @11:40 The subtle flashing in your video is caused by LED lights. There is a LED lightbulb somewhere in that room. When filming indoors, only use incandescent lightbulbs.

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm checking into this, as I've started to see it more often in videos. I think it occurs when someone in the house uses hot water while I'm shooting video. The instant hot water heater draws so mush current that the lights cycle drops enough to get close to the 29.97 frames per second of the camera. Every light in this house is LED. Someone else will have to foot the bill for changing them all over to incandescent and pay the power bill after that. Ha!

    • @tazanteflight8670
      @tazanteflight8670 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuilderCreator You can still get 100 watt incandescent bulbs at homedepot, and lowes. Also, you can open that window, and let that sun in. Position a mirror outside, and shoot some light in, when filming. You have a cool channel!

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I hear from a lot of people who say I have inspired them to start a project, but how many of them actually follow through, we shall see. I wonder also, if I discourage a few along the way when they roll through the video evidence of the scale of the undertaking. Ha! Here is a video that tells a little of the story of my entry into the "car world." - th-cam.com/video/cTLGNVjpy60/w-d-xo.html. No interest from a manufacturer, but I do regularly hear from individuals wanting a one off custom car (Vanity car.) So far, the price has scared them off. Thanks for watching.

    Tool tip.
    You can buy cable or rope cutting blades , usually in survival, camping stores. They’re good for cutting and shaping foam . You can make a simple attachment to a multi tool to automate them or a length of bandsaw blade .
    You get a dull multi tool blade cut it down and put a hole to attach the saw blade to . Then make an extended handle similar to the bow of a hacksaw to attach the other end of the blade via a spring .

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, great idea. I have used pre-shaped wires for cutting shapes with a hot wire cutter in polystyrene, but it might work to create a stiff "shaped" blade for the oscillating saw to cut urethane foams!
