    I am happy that you have recovered from your illness and very pleased to see you working on the Arete Supercar once again. Yours is one of my favorite car building channels. Keep the content coming!!! 😃😃😃

    Thanks for uploads on your Arete Supercar Project. One of my favourite series on YT. The carbon and leather option you mention for the steering wheel will be much nicer IMO than the current look. Looking forward to next Ep!

      Yep, just bough it for the base. We will jazz it up with some quality materials! Thanks for following the build.

    Such an awesome project, thanks for the update.
    If you want a decent anvil for cheap, take a look at the Vevor 135lb anvil. They're made out of cast steel and surprisingly good for the price (around $250 shipped).

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the recommend! Just bought the 110lb version. Free shipping? how can they do that? Just shipping would cost me over $80 if I shipped something half that weight. Just hope it is not radioactive like some recycled foreign metals. Ha!

      @@BuilderCreator Right?! I didn't check mine for radiation, fingers crossed I guess.

    That bar under the dash should be bigger in diameter and made from aluminum

    Great work as usual. Not much space under there for HVAC- even less than my project. Have you got a system picked you're designing around ? Don't forget defrost/fog vents!

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Under the dash will be just the diverter and ducts for vent/defrost. the heat exchanger and fan will be under the bonnet up front.

    AAAAAHHHH the ways of that poor lathe

      thought the same!

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bought the lathe on the cheap and thought I could get it running, but after some time on it have decided that I could buy a new 40" gunsmithing lathe for the number of hours it would take to restore it. Keeping the base, as you can see it makes a VERY solid workbench. New anvil (recommended by @Russtuff above) will bolt to it nicely. The railroad rail wasn't worth drilling and fixing down.

    Looking good Jay. Have you made any progress on the design of your door hinges? I am curious about how you will do them. I am not happy with mine and will be remaking them sometime in the near future.

    • @BuilderCreator
      @BuilderCreator  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I need to tweak some drawings for the base mounting plate and then have them cut at the waterjet service. That is the last design side hurtle. After that I need to cast the big hing piece. I have a bunch of parts waiting to be cast, but need to get my burn out furnace up and going. Just need a good full day to work on that when the weather gives me a good full day. Ha! I see your gaining on me. I had better get busy or you will pass me up!!

      Actually, it looks like someone else is showing their lack of education. Perhaps they haven't watched the episode on the strength of S-Glass fibers verses Carbon Fiber, or taken a look at the surging growth of composites in the automotive industry in general.

    • @HowDareYouu
      @HowDareYouu ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BuilderCreator no dummy, the cars that use fiberglass use it for some body panels not for the safety cell(were passagers are) The carbon fiber it's use in supercars but the level of engineering/test/simulations to do that it's out of your league, some of them have also metal inserts & a WELL THOUGHT CRUMPLE ZONE. You are just using a saw, some cardboard for f sake.
      And the race cars that use fiberglass have strong metal cages that is connected to other metal parts of the car ( chassis, etc)
      + fiberglass is brittle in case of an impact and dose not have any force absorption in case of an impact.
      Any home made car that uses just fiberglass it's a death trapt and bad designed ''go cart''
      smug american...🤦‍♀
